Chapter 9 Self destruction
Ada went to NEST. She recorded her journal
" This is Ada Wang. Currently entering NEST. William Birkin is infected by G virus. Annette Birkin refused to cooperate. We are searching G virus sample. Over."
Ada walks toward the door. But she fell down. She painfully said
" Damn it. How careless of me?"
Iron pierced through her thigh. She tried to pull it out but it was too painful. Ada couldn't pull it out. Ada whispered
" In order to stop blood loss, it seems I have to stay like this until Arthur and Leon come here. Shit I should come here with them."
Arthur's side
Leon woke up from dream. He dreamed awful things. Leon opened his eyes
" Ugh what happened?"
Arthur have his water
" You forced yourself too much. Because of that you blacked out."
Leon sipped water
" Sorry. I dragged you back."
Arthur shakes his head
" We are comrades it's okay. Besides Ada went earlier."
Leon pondered
" Do you think Ada is from FBI?"
Arthur denied
" She is not. I know she is professional spy or assassin. Besides FBI badge is easy to get. I think Ada is here for different goal."
Leon sighed
" Let's go. I think we need to think about solution while going to NEST."
Arthur nodded
" Right."
10 minutes later
Leon and Arthur were chatting while they walk to NEST. Arthur frowned
" Leon Ada is in front."
Leon nodded
" Okay."
Two of them went to hole right before them. Arthur saw Ada
" Ada are you alright?"
Ada shouts
" I am hurt. Arthur come here."
Arthur went to Ada. He saw Ada is pierced by iron piece.
" I will pull it out by three. One, two, three."
Arthur pulled out the Iron. Ada silently screamed while holding Arthur. Ada sweats
" Thank you Arthur but you two need to go to NEST and get a sample from there."
Arthur nodded
" Okay but you have to promise me that you will be alright."
Ada looked to Arthur
" I will be alright."
Arthur nodded
" By the way, don't break my trust on you."
Ada smiled charmingly
" I won't."
Arthur looked gratefully as he went to Leon.
" Leon let's go. We need to go there first."
Leon nodded
" What about Ada?"
" She will meet us in elevator area."
Leon understood.
" Okay let's go then."
20 minutes later
They reached the main door of NEST. Leon saw corpses everywhere. Not only that there was a corpse stuck in glass. Leon looked disgusted
" Arthur let's get out from here."
Arthur saw emblem on corpses. He said in deep voice
" Umbrella task force. These guys seem to be on mission."
Leon looked around
" Arthur don't you think it's familiar scene."
Arthur saw claw marks on them.
" Guy in sewer. Ada said it was G virus."
Leon nodded
" We have to be careful. There might be danger around here."
They looked to map. Leon pointed
" Laboratory is here. We have to go there and I think we might be able to meet Claire."
Arthur agreed
" She should be uninjured."
Leon nodded
" I hope so."
15 minutes later
They reached laboratory. Leon looked around
" Arthur there."
Arthur went to sample section. He read the name
" G virus. But I have a bad feeling about this."
Leon shrugs his shoulders
" What could be here? We just need to grab it and go meet Ada and Claire."
Arthur sighed
" Just pick it up then."
Leon picked up the sample. However
"Unauthorized sample ejection detected. Base will self destruct itself in 60 minutes. All main gates are closed."
Leon looked to sample in his hand. He looked embarrassed
" I am sorry."
Arthur sighed
" Let's get put from here quickly."
Leon groans
" I am so sorry. I didn't know this."
Arthur gestured to go. Two of them walked through corridor. Leon looked to his watch.
" Do you think Claire can make it?"
Arthur nodded
" She is a tough woman. We need to go fast."
Leon sighed
" I feel I screwed up Claire so badly."
Arthur smiled
" I think she will be fine."
Claire's side
Claire went to NEST but she had to detour. She went through storage section. But Claire saw her nemesis. She couldn't help to swear.
" God you have to be kidding me. Why do I need this guy everytime."
It was William Birkin.
