Chapter 16 Portal

Arthur focused his attention to portal. He stubbornly gazed to ring.

" If I can't learn this, how can I learn advanced magic?"

He drew circle in air but this time it's succeeded.

In Kamar Taj

Ancient One was looking to Arthur's return. Mordo couldn't help to ask

" Do you think, he can return?"

Ancient One smiled

" He can. I believe in him."

Mordo sighed

" You even used eye of agamotto."

Ancient One touched the pendant.

" If anyone besides me used this, I would worried about it. But it's me, it's okay. I calculated it."

Mordo didn't say anything. He knew she was right. How can dignified Sorcerer Supreme create space time disturbance.

Swish*

Ancient One saw portal opening in right front of her.

" See I told you."

Mordo sighs

" It seems I am too soft."

Arthur came out from portal. He fainted directly. Ancient One once again used time power. She thought

" His talent in magic is terrifying. Perhaps he and Strange can create new era for magic. I want to see it but it is not my fate."

1 hour later

Arthur woke up. He immediately solidified water in air. Arthur drank water. Ancient One came in.

" Fascinating power indeed. You use your spiritual power to control water around you. It is very powerful technique but when you are in void or element less area, it is useless."

Arthur didn't surprised he knew this master lived for thousands of years. He asked

" Can you explain about Medici family teacher?"

Ancient One shakes her head

" I won't tell you. This is your responsibility, not mine."

Arthur nodded

" I understand."

Ancient One nodded

" Good. I came here to tell you that you can visit library. There you can read more about magic. Also you can go back anytime."

Arthur's eyes lit up

" Thank you teacher."

Ancient One smiled as she left. Arthur thought for a while.

" I can go back to my home any time. Let's go to library first."

15 minutes later

Arthur came to library. Librarian was a middle aged man. He was a quite polite person. Arthur took a few books about elementary magic. Librarian checked it

" Very good choice. Return them by the end of week."

Arthur nodded

" Thank you."

Arthur went back to his room. He read the books, specially astrology books. After all he is a star person.

" Wow this can work too?! My power is quite useful. Let's read next one."

He read the books until midnight. Arthur yawned

" Let's sleep for now. I will return these books and grab a few for my study."

Next morning

Mordo came to his room. He saw pile of books on Arthur's table. Unconsciously he smiled.

" Hard worker indeed. Let's wake him up. Hey Arthur wake up."

Arthur woke up. He checked his time, it was 4:30. He yawned little

" What's wrong?"

" You have a special lesson today. Come on."

Arthur dressed up.

" Let's go."

Arthur went training field. There he saw weapon like things. Arthur asked

" Am I going to learn martial arts?"

Mordo has black lines all over his face. He knew Arthur is grandmaster martial arts. If he fight him, he is just inviting his own humiliation.

" No. I am going to teach you how to use this. Of course I have a helper. Kaecillius you will fight him and Arthur don't use other powers."

Kaecillius nodded

" Advice me junior."

Arthur nodded

" Alright."

Kaecillius picked up staff like weapon. Arthur didn't pick up anything. He bowed and took a stance. Suddenly staff broke like a snake. Arthur reacted quickly. He grabbed it and pulled however it became staff again. Arthur was surprised by it's flexibility. Mordo coughed

" That's enough. Arthur do you understand now?"

Arthur nodded

" I understand. In fact this is really good."

Mordo nodded

" These are magic weapons. If you think mage is range combat profession, it isn't. We all learn close combat. So called magic weapons are helpers for it. You can use any type of weapon."

Arthur nodded

" What about sword and bow? Or gun?"

Mordo pondered

" Sword is bit tricky, it needs extreme control of mana. As for bow and gun, I don't know. No one tried this before."
