Time passed quietly as they progressed into the deep area. Fortunately, they were able to secure the last dangerous anomaly that they had been searching for hours and it was 173. It was restricted by the 4 soldiers who were on the brink of exhaustion. Their eyes were bloodshot and they almost went mad due to the high pressure.
" Take them to the infirmary. They are one of our elites, so don't hesitate to use good medicine on them."
The old captain said, heading towards the control room with a serious expression. He heard Arthur and Johnheart went to the control with 2 newbies which caused a huge toll on his mind because they were the most important people on the site. Their death means they would be valuable assets of the foundation that painstakingly kept on.
Fortunately, he saw them from afar. They seemed to be alright except for a few injuries, but he couldn't complain about it. First of all, they were fine and sound. Secondly, he was worried about them due to his relations.
On the other hand, Bright was helpless when he saw the stern face of Johnheart whom he always slipped away from. This old man was like a drill sergeant who nagged him for no reason. Therefore, he was some kind of reluctant to meet with him.
" Oh, it isn't Heinz and Bright. What took you so long? We were almost been killed by a single person if it wasn't for Arthur's wit. Tsk, he even released the anomalies."
Johnheart clicked his tongue, recalling the face of the man. He could vividly remember those vicious eyes, burning with hatred for the foundation and its staff. Thankfully he never fought them seriously, just to make havoc on the site.
" It is our fault. We should have checked the system carefully. Man, you did something outrageous, Art. By the way, where is 049?"
Heinz asked, soothing the tense atmosphere with a light joke. He saw the horrified faces of the newbies, so he decided to ease them up because he was different from those strict leaders. He deeply cared about the combat units.
" Him? He said he was going to his cell since he had seen the thing that he wanted and he took some samples from the other anomalies."
Arthur said, drinking water from one of the soldiers with a tired look. He swore that he wasn't going to involve himself in other's jobs because he found out that even with his super body, he could be killed and controlled.
" Is that so? Then I will send someone to check on him. Also, Doctor Bright should go with them."
Heinz replied, looking around the control room in distress. He knew he had a ton of things that would be knocking on his door and he would be probably out for a while, not seeing his family.
" Ah, I will help you. You don't have to worry about technical support since I am enough for it. Besides, Doctor said he had a few words with Bright."
Arthur smiled, carrying the iron door on his shoulder like it was some sort of light thing for him. The old soldiers shook their heads with helplessness because they used to watch his behavior for years and they found he was a really interesting individual.
" Let me help you, Art. I have your favorite chips in my pocket."
Bright said, going to Arthur but he felt a grip on his shoulder as he looked back with a stiff look. He saw Johnheart whose veins were bulging and he seemed to be forcing a smile on his face. Also, he saw something terrifying behind him, an illusion of a devil.
" Bright, you have a lot of things to explain. Let's get over there and talk for a few minutes before I feed you to the fish."
Johnheart said, hardening his grip on his shoulder to show his inner intentions. For no reason, this fool almost killed all of them and he was passed by his negligence of urgency.
Bright broke out with cold sweat, looking at Arthur and Heinz to beg for mercy, but he saw helplessness in their eyes. They already accepted his fate and moved on to their next action.
