Chapter 26 Go on, I am here to watch

" Garfield, you take out the guards. Jaime, go with him. Raven, back us, and Damian, you go for the device. I will take care of Killer Moth."

Starfire gave an order while dispersing her teammates to various zones to execute the order. She knew Arthur and Diana wouldn't move an inch unless they are in mortal danger, so she had to be extremely cautious.

" Well said. Although there are a few mistakes, the process is good, and overall role diversity is also praisable"

Arthur nodded with approval, believing they could carry out unless something unexpected comes up and that was the main point of this. He wanted them to learn how to cope with variables since he learned it the hard way.

" Do you believe they can do it? I trust in them."

Diana said proudly, thinking the Titans would emerge victorious, but Arthur shook his head. The world isn't simple as that. He had witnessed countless heroes and men die from their arrogance and lack of focus despite their great strength. Even he died once from his arrogance and learned that there would always be a person who is stronger than you in this world.

Diana guessed her husband wasn't as optimistic as her and she saw Arthur was observing the place with a serious face. Her instincts were telling her she should go and help them, but Arthur forbade her from moving. He signaled that they didn't need them yet and they are here to guide them, not babysit them.

In the vault.

Damian easily made his way through the doors, knocking out grunts on his way. He understood what Arthur had said and agreed with him on the matter, so he was moving carefully unlike his teammates.

" Well, well it isn't our boy wonder. Where is Batman and the Bat family or are you here with Titans?"

A man appeared from the corner, looking at him with coldness. Deathstroke deeply hated Damian who blinded his eye and humiliated him in front of others. He wanted to kill this child before he could reach adulthood and become someone like Dick or Bruce who could go against him.

" So, they have hired you, huh? You shouldn't have accepted their mission since I am here."

Damian said with a touch of sarcasm while taking a fighting stance. Whether he could get the device or not entirely depended on his abilities and his enemy was one of the best fighters in the world.

" Don't expect mercy from me, boy. I won't give you a second chance."

Deathstroke replied, slashing him with his sword. Damian blocked his sword with his sword, counter-attacking back.

Meanwhile in another room

Garfield panted as he hit the man. He turned himself into a rhino and continued to dash to them which drained his stamina. Fortunately, Blue Beetle was with him.

" You okay, bud? Want to rest for a while? I can take care of them."

Jaime asked, handing him a bottle of water while shooting them down. Garfield glared at him, knowing this guy could go forever like this, contrary he had to waste his stamina and demolish this freaking zone because he could turn into an animal.

'" Yeah, sure. Don't forget the ice. Cause you might need it later."

Garfield spoke lightly, leaning on the wall with exhaustion. Perhaps, playing with Damian was the cause of his stamina shortage today or he might be nervous because he met one of the greatest heroes on the planet.

Bang*

Jaime shot down the thugs with ease, thinking he could brag after the battle, but something unexpected happened. A man with a giant body came out from the dark along with a man with a mask.

" Um, Gar. I think we have new guests here."

Jaime said, showing hesitation on his face due to the identity of these two. These two were very

famous people in their cities and they moved together since they didn't like each other.

" Yeah, I saw it too. Why are Bane and Sportsmaster working together?"

He asked, gazing at them with vigilance. He was sure that they would either lose here or tie at the best due to their experience difference.

" Because we are hired together, genius. Do you think I wanted to work with them?"

Sportsmaster complained, expressing his dissatisfaction in the matter.
