Chapter 79 War from the sky

The meeting continued for hours before concluding their overall direction. They had agreed that they would imprison them if they could in the first place, if not they would kill on sight for precaution. The villains weren't simple like superhumans or mutants, if they weren't managed properly, the damage couldn't be undone later like casualties.

Next day

The sun rises as the army of robots flies through the sky, looking for the villains. The announcement was made on their social media, creating millions of traffic on the internet. Many people understood that villains had declared war on heroes and they were invading various cities and places to get resources. Obviously, they were people who sided with villains, believing heroes were getting out of hand, but no matter how hard they were, they couldn't hide the tragedy behind the curtains.

Berlin the center of Europe was drowned in blood and fire as the video created a sensation on the internet. The helpless cries of citizens gathered the attention of everyone, including militaries in the world. They saw countless vampires, feasting on humans as the city was destroyed from inside. The counselor of Germany begged help from Eden and the UN.

Fortunately, their response was fast. The heroes and robots led by Eden coupled with the NATO army reached the outer area of Berlin.

The tension between the two forces created an invisible barrier as the people escaped from the city.

General Hankoy looked at the map, pointing at the buildings where heroes had been ambushed before.

" I have received the news that you were ambushed here. If my prediction is correct, Kreuzberg is their central base. I can give you an artery assistance from here, but getting into the city is out of question. You know those freaks can infect my people and I don't want to risk my people's lives for this mission."

Hankoy declared his intentions as he looked at the heroes. The heroes didn't address this because their main mission was to save people and secure Berlin from vampires.

As for damages, they had to keep things minimal since Arthur promised that he would do so before the counselor.

" Vision, I need you to scout the city and report back. We will send drones with you and use thermo satellite to analyze enemy locations."

Steve buckled his shield as Vision flew away. Vision slowly flew over the city, looking down at the city with a grim face.

The sight of the city was beyond any human tolerance as the city was dyed in red. The walls were tainted with the blood of citizens and corpses were scattered everywhere whether they were humans or not. Obviously, sky was obstructed by the artificial clouds that were made to block the sun.

Eden scientists believed this was the work of Hydra scientists and mages to block sunlight. Sunlight was the deadly poison for vampires and the weakness of the werewolves who lurked in the night. Therefore, blocking the sun was the most logical way to conquer the city and the main problem was Eden couldn't get rid of these artificial clouds for days since they were analyzing the components of it.

" This is Vision. I have found the city administration building. The vampires seemed to be hiding inside the buildings and sewers currently. As for werewolves, I can't distinguish them from humans."

He whispered lightly as he observed the humans who were running in the streets. Vision gently landed on the ground as he found himself before the city hall. He turned his head around, finding various signs on the walls which warned him not to enter.

Vision narrowed his eyes, motioning robots to enter the building as he carefully scanned the surrounding area with his thermal scan. He found hundreds of living signs in the building, but it didn't scare him off.

Instead, he went through the walls with his density shift and found cocoons on the walls. The sharp stench of blood hit his nose, indicating these cocoons were alive beings.

" Collecting samples!"

He cut the pulsating cocoon with a laser cutter and collected samples from both cocoons and the underformed being in it.

" Returning to the post, captain. This place seemed to be infected by a virus and I believe most humans and superhumans cannot get in here without adequate preparation."

He spoke as he looked at the cocoons.
