Chapter 6
"So that would be all. See you next meeting and don't forget to submit your assignment" he said before he totally leave.
That was one of a hell class. He's boring and I can't understand anything that he said. I took my things and put it back to my bag, when I heard the notification from my phone. I checked who it was, and I frowned by the sight of the unknown number.
"Terence? Did you changed your mobile number?" I asked the guy beside me.
He gave me a puzzled look. "No, why? " he replied
"Ow, I just thought" I answered and then open the message

Done with class?
I immediately replied

Kai
This fucking idiot. I just kept my phone to my pocket, and left the room. After a few minutes, it rang. I looked at the caller, and it's still from the unknown number. I rejected the call and followed Terence. After a while, it ranged again.
"Aren't you going to pick it up?" Terence asked
"No, the caller's annoying" I replied
" Yeah? Well guess what? It starts to annoy me too. Answer it, it may be something important" he replied
I sigh and reluctantly answered the call.
"What do you want?" I immediately said
(You) I rolled my eyes heavenward and ended the call.
What's wrong with him? He keeps on teasing me like that, it's honestly annoying.
Before I could return my phone on my pocket, it ranged again. Terence looked at me instantly, the moment my phone rang. This fucking idiot!
I furiously answered it again.
"What?!" I am both asking and yelling at him.
(Are you already mad, at that rate?) he said. I can clearly hear his teasing voice.
"What do you think? Just tell me what you want. okay?!"
(I already told you, I want you)
"Yeah, you're nonsense. I'm going to end the call now" I said. But before I could remove the phone on my ear, he immediately speak up
(Wait! Come and meet me at the parking lot)
"Can you just tell me what it is?"
(No. I know that you're done with your classes, so you can't give me any excuses. I'll be waiting)
Before, I could even answer him, he already cut the call. This idiot, does he really think that I would come, because he said so? I put my phone on my pocket, and hurriedly follow Terence.
"Uhm, Levi I can't go with you today. My girlfriend just called me, she wants to meet with her" he said and hurriedly left.
Great! We were about to go to my psychiatrist. I guess, I'll just go there alone. I was walking in the corridor, while I was busy on my phone when it ranged again. I almost cursed loudly when I saw the unknown number flashed on my phone screen. I was going to end it, when I realized something. I don't have my car with me, and I want someone to visit my psychiatrist with me. I guess it wouldn't hurt to ask him right? Since he likes bothering me, might as well make use of it.
I answered the call, and before he could even say something , I immediately speak up.
"Wait for me there, I'm on my way." I said and hung up
I looked at my watch and hurriedly made my way on the parking lot. I instantly saw him leaning back on his car. I just walked coldly at him, and just casually help myself in, inside his car. I noticed that he's a bit amazed. He knocked on the window. I rolled my eyes heavenward, and rolled down the window.
"What?"
"I thought you'd never come" he replied while smiling brightly at me.
"Well, I'm here now, so get in the car and start driving." I demanded him. He just smirked at me, before he went to the other side and sat on the driver's seat.
While he was putting his seatbelt, I showed him the address of the institution. He raised his eyebrows at me, and before he could even ask anything , I gave him the answer.
"I'm have my check up today." I said, hoping that he wouldn't ask any further.
"Okay" he answered, and drove quietly.
We arrived at the institution in just a few minutes. What interest me is that, he seems like he knew the place well. We've met here, but I didn't expect him to be this familiar with the place. I just followed him quietly as he lead me the way. Every time I am here, my feet seems heavy, like I'm dragging a ball of metal on my feet. This place seems like, it's trapping me.
I think Kai noticed how anxious I am, because he held my trembling hands. I flinched at his action, but I don't intend to pull my hand back. Somehow, it's helping me to calm down.
"You don't like it here?" he worriedly asked. I closed my eyes first to calm myself, because I'm certain that my voice would tremble.
"No, I just know that painful things will comeback to me again" I said
I looked at him when he suddenly stopped walking, since he was holding my hands, it made stop too.
"If you don't like that, we can leave now." He said while he's looking at me. He looks at me with no sign of pity in his face, instead, he's worried.
I don't know, but I honestly don't have the strength to be rude to him, and to shut him out. I just need his presence.
I shook my head, and gave him a weary smile. He just smiled back and continues to lead the way.
"Hi Levi! Good to see you, take a seat" Dr. Akiyama said as soon as I entered his office.
He looked at Kai and frowned, but then smiled.
"You can wait outside" he said, referring to Kai.
Kai leans forward and whisper. "I'll wait for you, outside" I just nod at him as an answer
"How are you?" he asked me as soon as Kai was out of the room.
"I'm fine" I answered, wishing that he wouldn't ask me something painful.
"Are you taking your medications regularly?" he asked again
"Religiously" I replied
"Do you need a deep talk? Something that still bothers you lately? " he asked me nicely
"No, nothing." I replied again, while trying to keep my composure, so that he wouldn't notice. I don't want to open a fresh wound.
"You sure?" I insisted. I just gave him a nod as an answer.
"Hmm? Looks like you still don't want to talk about it" he added and smiled.
I just looked away. How did he know?
"Okay, just continue to take your medicine, and meet me in your check up schedules." He said
I just thank him, then instantly leave. When I open the door, I found Kai waiting for me. He just smiled at me. And he went home in silence. It seems like he know that I don't want to have any conversation with someone. Every time I go there, memories and emotions kept on coming back at me. It's like, the place is reminding me of what I am going through, and I don't want that. I've kept it shut and ignored it, to keep my sanity.
"We're here" Kai's voice brought me back from my thoughts. I haven't noticed that we're here already.
I just nod and quietly got out of the car. I absent mindedly walked inside the building, when a hand grab me.
"Let me walk you inside" he said. I just nod and walk with him in silence.
I don't know, but his mere presence already calms me. I think, he can be really a good friend. I was about to enter to my unit when I remembered something.
"Uhm, by the way, why did you called me? And why do you have my number?" I asked
"Well, I have my ways, and.." he paused and looked away while he's rubbing his neck. "I just wanted to drive you home" he continued
I was about to asked him, why on earth, would he do that? But I was already inside of his arms. I felt a lump on my throat, and I fought hard not to embarrass myself in front of him.
"Just rest okay? I know you need it, and stop thinking too much" he said before he finally let go.
He gave me a smile and punch my chin lightly, before he turned his back on me, and left. I watch him walk away, but I was confused about, why am I smiling?
