King Eiji and Shiro talked about the surge of mana and managed to hide the fact that Shiro is the cause of it all.
Shiro returned to his house in the human realm after their "Talk" and went to the HQ. Noro tells him that he's not yet needed so he can go home and train his squadron's coordination because they are being sloppy again. After training for the day was complete, Shiro called Tomoe to come by and cook again "You don't like my cooking that much huh?" Himari said "It's not that I don't like it, it's just that when you cook, no one can tell if it's food or not" Shiro said "Captain, isn't that going a bit too far?" Yuri asked. Their dinner went smoothly, except for Shiro and Himari.
"You really don't get along huh?" Miyano asked Himari as they are doing their little slumber party. "Not really" Hikaru butted in "How so?" she asked again "Well in the past…" She said but before she could say another word "SHUT UP, THERE IS NO GOOD IN BRINGING THE PAST UP" Himari shouted. The others were suspicious and wanted to know more about her past, Shiro on the other hand can hear their conversation from the next room. In his room, standing on top of his study table, is a picture of him and a boy he called a friend when he was younger, and because of him, Shiro gained the confidence to study beyond comprehension which is also the reason they drifted apart.
A few days later, Itsuo introduced them to the transfer student. A silver-haired guy entered the room and everyone thought of him as Shiro playing a prank "Brother?" Shiro said "We're in the class again, brother, coincidences" he said "Who's he?" Hikaru asked "Greetings everyone, my name is Sekaijuu Kuro, I am Shiro's twin, I use my mother's surname so that people don't confuse us" he introduced himself "Sekaijuu?" Himari asked that made her eyes widen remembering something that made her shiver "I see, the princess is also here huh" Kuro whispered to Shiro.
"Take a seat brother, we are in class, if you want to talk, you can do that later" Shiro scolded Kuro.
After classes, Kuro teleported out of the school premises without a sound, much like Shiro casting spells. "Where'd Sekaijuu-kun go?" one of Kuro's newly-found friends asked "Beats, me, we never meet outside of school, nor anywhere ever since our parents separated.
This story is made up, Shiro knew that their parents separated even before he had the mind to do anything as a baby, that's the same with his brother, Kuro.
"Too bad, we wanted to invite him to karaoke, there's a mixer that my friend was setting up, if he could be there, it would help us a lot" he said. Shiro had to decline their invitation and went on to his ow agenda at HQ.
Noro was already there when Shiro came, "You took longer than expected today, Shiro" Noro said "I had to decline a heap of mixer party invitations, so yeah, I took longer to come by" he replied. "I bet those kids on your school wants to brag being with the strongest guy on campus, and then brag 'bout 'em to the ladies" Noro teased, "Shut it, I don't like that train of thought. Appreciate it though" he said.
Shiro worked on his normal routine out of hunting, then turned in daily reports in then went home, this time thought, Himari was waiting for him at the door, blushing. "What's the matter?" Shiro asked in a serious tone "I think we are going to have a talk about this" she said showing him a picture of Shiro and a boy wearing a hat, Shiro got flustered and asked her where she got it "It was at your study desk, framed" she said.
"So what about it?" Shiro asked after he got his composure back "This boy beside you, do you recall his name?" she asked "If I recall… his name was [] Hanako" Shiro answered. Himari's face went from serious to cherry red, she couldn't contain her emotions anymore "Why is he important to you?" she asked "Well, he is the reason why I got into studying so much that it pulled out friendship apart, I haven't been able to make time for us to hang out, and so did he" Shiro answered in a depressed tone. Himari felt how heavy his words were and felt guilty at the same time, she didn't know what to do, his focus was no longer at the picture but on the depressing past and future of the picture taken.
Himari mustering all her courage, "Can I sleep in your room tonight?" she asked "What for?" Shiro asked in return "You might feel a little lonely just by telling the story, and I'd feel guilty if you did just because I wanted to know what happened in the picture" she explained. Knowing Shiro, he would probably decline due to him being prideful, but that night was different, he agreed without batting an eye and laid out a futon for himself to sleep in.
That night, Himari slept tightly. A little bit before midnight, Himari woke up and found herself in Shiro's arms. She blushes to the thought that she fell from his bed to the futon and wanted to stand up, but Shiro held her down in his sleep. Shiro was murmuring in his sleep so she has no idea about what's happening and so he stroked his hair saying "Someday, when you're not too prideful, I'll tell you everything from the start" and kissed his forehead then fell asleep.
The next morning, Shiro is appalled, not knowing why Himari is next to him, Himari seems to have the same problem.
At school, Shiro, and Kuro had been ignoring each other since the first day, and yet, they clash when it comes to Magic class. Kuro would always challenge his older twin and lose every single time.
