Chapter 5

Its already 9.30 PM when Jay arrives home. Actually, he went back from hospital at 7. However, at first, it was so hard to convince Denny to leave Jia for one night.

When Jay said that he will take Denny to his house, the kid was crying wildly because he didn't want to leave his mother alone. Denny never slept without his mother on his side. Every night, Jia will stay by Denny's side, reading him a story or sing a song till the kid dozed off. That was why he's crying loudly. His mom always beside him when he was about to sleep.

Jia convince the kid that it just for one night. But still, it still not enough to comfort the kid.

"Denny, do you want to eat ice cream?" Jay asks suddenly. And it did made Denny stopped from crying. Denny, who was burying his face on Jia's chest, turning his head and look at Jay with his puffy eyes.

"You want to buy me an ice cream?" Denny asked with a shaky voice.

"Yes, if you want to follow me home." Jay said while nodding and it made Denny smiles.

"Yahh! He shouldn't eat ice cream at this time!" Jia said angrily and hit Jay's arm. The raven haired male groan when his arm felt a sharp pain from the hit that he receives from Jia.

"If its the only way to comfort him." Jay said. He then brought Shannon and Denny out from the room after Denny had given a goodbye kiss to Jia.

Jay did what he had promised. He bought two cones of ice cream. One for Denny and the other one for Shannon. But, before that he brought the kids to grab a dinner first at some random restaurant that he didn't even bother to know its name.

"Woah Shannon, your house is so big." Denny says in amusement when he steps out from the car.

"Thank you Denny. Soon, this will be your house too." Shannon replies with a giggle. Jay who just steps out from the car heard it and it makes him frowns.

"What do you mean Shannon?" Jay asks when he could feel that Shannon's words has another meaning.

"I mean when you married with Denny's mom, Denny will live here too. So, it will be his house too." Shannon answer with her proud face. Jay who hear it chokes on his spit. His face flushed red. How can this 4 years old kid talk about marriage? Denny on the other hand is giggling looking at stunned Jay.

"Emmm... Let's get inside kids." Jay clears his throat before pulling both kids into the mansion. "I'm home!" Jay shouts once he steps into the house. He let the kids going first as he needs to lock the door.

"Grandpa! Grandma!" Shannon shouts when she ran to the living room while dragging Denny.

"Shannon." Shannon's grandmother calls out with a smile carve on her face. Shannon give a hug to her grandparents before dragging Denny to sit at the couch across of her grandparents.

Jay steps into the living room while rubbing his nape. He feels exhausted because the day had been so hectic.

First, he had a meeting, then he was late on fetching Shannon and he was worried sick as he thought Shannon was alone. Fortunately there's Denny who's still waiting for his mother to come. So, being a nice man who likes kids so much, he offered to send Denny back home. The worst when he bumps with someone who just came out from the elevator and suddenly faint. He only knew the woman in his held was Jia when he hears Denny screamed "Mommy".

"Jia!" Jay calls out with a worried voice. while patting on Jia's cheek lightly. He flinched when he felt his skin burning as it made a contact with Jia's flushed cheek. But, Jia didn't wake up. Jay only felt worried that moment. He quickly lifted Jia up and brought her bridal style to his car. Later at the hospital he needs to comfort crying Denny. Luckily there was Shannon that helps him to comfort Denny. After that he couldn't rest and it was more tiring being at the hospital than sitting in his own office room. And usually he will be at home around 7 and during this time he's already in his bedroom, either he was reading or doing some unsettle works.

"Mind to tell me who is the little kid here?" His mother asks when he sat on the single couch. He looks up, meeting with his parents gazes before averted his gaze around the living room. Only then he realized that there's also his brother in law and beside him is his wife aka Jay's older sister. He frowns as he feels weird that his sister and brother in law coming home earlier than usual. But he pushes the thought to the back of his mind and wanted to answer his mother question.

"This is Kim Denny, my friend and also a son of uncle Jay's girlfriend. Denny will stay here tonight because his mommy is in the hospital." There you go again. Shannon is faster to answer that question. Jay widens his eyes in disbelief. Really this kid, it is the third time for this day.

Yohan who is drinking his coffee chokes on it when he heard 'uncle Jay's boyfriend'. It got everyone's attention.

"Are you okay honey?" Jiyu, Jay's sister asks while patting Yohan's back.

"I'm okay." Yohan said in between cough. He looks up to find everyone are looking at him and he carve a small smile, reassuring that he's okay.

"Is it true Jay?" His father asks suddenly and its startled Jay.

"Y-yeah what?" Jay stutters.

"Is it true what Shannon just said?" His father repeat.

Jay's face is flushing red. Shannon just said the fake thing and he is question by his father. The looks of his father's eyes shows that he's expecting what Shannon just said was true. He knew that his father wants him to get married soon, so that he can take over the CEO title and his father can only stay at home since he's not really healthy.

"You have a girlfriend? How come you didn't tell us!" Now its his sister that asking.

His face getting more red from the embarrassment. He could say 'no' right? But he finds himself hard to voice it out.

"Poor uncle Jay." Denny says suddenly. "Don't believe Shannon. My mommy doesn't have any boyfriend. I'm his son and I know." Denny continues, showing his infamous boxy smile. Jay feels relieved but at the same time he feels... Disappointed? He didn't know tho.

"T-that's true. His mom is not my girlfriend." Jay verified Denny's statement. His parents nods.

"Why are you lying Shannon?" Jiyu asks softly.

"I'm just kidding. I just says Denny's mom is uncle Jay's girlfriend because I likes Denny's mom so much. And she's suit with uncle. Don't you think so?" Shannon says, nudging Denny.

Jay massage his temple.

"Yes they look good together and I hope they will be real couple." Denny agrees and it didn't help Jay that his face getting more red.

"Aww both of you are really smart." Jay's mother squealed.

"I hope it is true tho." His father utters in a disappoint voice. "I hope you will get married soon Jay. You know my health condition right?" Jay nods. His father will go to the hospital every month to make a check up on his health condition. "I know that I can give that position to you anytime but I don't want you to get it before you get married first because you will only focus on your work and forget to find someone for you to love." He continues. Jay only nods. He already heard about it several times but what should he do? He still not find the right person or maybe he did. He feels pity to his father. Jay is the only one that his father hope for since his sister already has her own career as a lawyer.

"Okay kids, let's go upstairs to change. Both of you didn't change your school outfit and you stink." Jay says, gotten up from the couch and brought the kids upstairs. His father only shake his head as he knew Jay is avoiding from talking about the marriage thingy.

"Ohh what about that kid's father?" Jiyu asks Yohan suddenly, snapping him out from his thought. While they were talking just now, he only thought about Jia and his anger building up in him when they talks about her.

"How do you know I was the one treated that kid's mother?" Yohan asks back. Jiyu chuckles.

"Come on honey. Why should Jay brought her to other doctor if his brother in law is a doctor?" Jiyu asks and Yohan grins, understand it.

"Yeah that's right." Yohan says, rubbing his nape. "She's fine now and can discharge, perhaps tomorrow." Yohan answers and his parents in law and his wife nods.

Then, his mind goes to think about Jia again. He clenches his fists tightly just to think about her.

Jay tuck Denny on his own bed before he lays his tired body beside Denny. After taking a bath, Jay suggest for Denny to sleep in Shannon's room. Shannon, of course gladly agrees with the idea. However, Denny refuses as he said that he wants to sleep with Jay.

"I'm sorry Shannon, but your friend here want to sleep with me." Jay says as he sits at the edge of Shannon's bed. Denny give Shannon an apologetic smile.

"Its okay uncle, Denny." Shannon says with a smile carve on her face.

"Goodnight baby." Jay kiss Shannon's forehead and the kid reply with a mumble of 'goodnight too' before finally fall asleep. He watches as Shannon sleep soundly. It has been Jay's daily routine to stay with Shannon until the kid fell asleep since Shannon's parents usually came home late.

Wrapping the blanket over the small body, Jay then take Denny in his arm and bring the kid into his bedroom.

"I missed mommy." He hears a sniffle when he was about to close his eyes the moment his head lays on the comfy pillow. He opens his eyes again and look at the boy beside him. Denny is staring at the ceiling with the hint of tears at the corner of his eyes. Jay sighs before pulling Denny closer to him, making the kid snuggle on his chest.

"You will meet your mommy tomorrow." Jay cooed while rubbing Denny's back. Denny didn't reply. Jay assumed that he's already sleeping so he just let Denny snuggle more into him. And Jay eyelids also feels heavy. Slowly, his eyes starts to close.

"I used to hear mommy read me a story or sing for me until I fell asleep." Denny's sudden words made Jay snaps his eyes open. He looks down and meet with Denny's brown orbs.

"Do you want to talk with your mommy?" Jay asks and Denny's eyes sparkle with happiness. He nods excitedly. Jay takes the phone that he put on the nightstand before dialling Jia's number. He waits for a few seconds till he hears Jia pick up the call.

"Hello." Jia's sleepy voice can be heard from the other line. She's probably sleeping before Jay calls her. "What do you want Mr. Jay?" She asks in a slightly annoyed tone. Who doesn't feel annoyed when you were disturb in your sleep. Especially when that person is someone that she despises the most.

"Your son wanted to talk with you." Jay stated before giving the phone to Denny.

“Mommy! I missed you. Uncle Jay and everyone are so nice to me. Yes. Can you sing for me?" Jay hears the kid talks happily with his mother. His sniffle had been gone and is replace with a giggles. His giggle is the same as Jia, Jay thought with a small smile gracing at the corner of his lips. Jia's laugh also beautiful.

Wait! what are you even thinking Jay? Both of you can't stand each other, both of you are enemy remember that! Jay try to convince himself and push what he just thought to the back of his mind.

The even breathing in the room makes Jay snap out from his thought. Denny already fall asleep with the phone still near his ear. He must be falling asleep when Jia was singing for him, Jay thought.

Jay take the phone away slowly, not wanting to wake Denny up. Then, he notices that Jia still on the line. He put the phone at his ear to tell Jia that Denny already sleep.

"I love you." Jia says softly, right after the phone near to Jay's ear.

"I love you too." Jay reply without thinking. He widens his eyes when he realized what he just said. Meanwhile, Jia at the other line didn't speak but he still not hang up. She was actually froze too when she hears Jay's voice. Her ears turn pink.

"I di-din't say it to you." Jia stutters. That's true tho. It was supposed for Denny but she didn't expect that Jay will hear it.

"I know. Your son already sleeping and I replied your love on his behalf." Jay says with a grin on his face. "Why? You expect that I will say those words to you?" Jay asks teasingly. It doesn't help that Jia's face already reddening due to the embarrassment.

"O-of course not!" Jia stated and she bite her own lips till it could bleed because she’s s just stuttering. "I'm hang up. Bye you asshole." Jia hang up.

Jay grins widely. He could imagine the image of Jia if she is in front of him. If Jia is in front of him, she probably will tease the older even more and made her pissed off because that's what Jay and Jia did every time. They keep bickering and pissing off each other. But usually Jay was the one that always won.

Later, he pulls the blanket and covers both Denny's and his body.
