Chapter 15 - Birthday Party

(Diana’s POV)

It’s already dusk when I went back to our boarding house. Auzia did really ignored after leaving here there as I when out to buy gifts for Calli. How should I tell her to come with me if she’s in her deep sleep?

She’s not even fully awake when she meets me at the door a while ago. Good thing that her attention diverted at the gifts that I bought, or should I say we bought, and that our bickering ended

“Bes, are we really going? I mean a while ago, I thought you don’t want to go there and now you’re already dressed up.” I just shrugged ignoring the fact that she’s right at that part.

“But isn’t it disrespectful if our gifts will be there without us?” I answered asking. She just shrugged and looked at me.

“By the way, you’re really stunning with whatever you wear, huh.” I looked at my dress and it looks normal to me. It’s a peach wavy dress with polka dots design and with a cerulean rose in my left shoulder.

Auzia, on the other hand, is wearing a sports bra and high waist square pants. She also covers herself with a denim jacket but her tummy is still visible. She’s very conscious of her outfit well in fact, she always look like a Korean actress if she’s well dressed.

I rolled my eyes at her since I always hear that line from her. I don’t know how to interpret that compliment but I just make myself silent whenever someone told me that.

Back when I was in high school, I was also praised by many teachers because of my so called beauty well in fact I looked normal in the mirror.

“Whatever you say. Come on we’ll be late for Calli’s party.” Each of us brings our own gifts and thanks to god that I only bought necklace so it’s not heavy.

Auzia’s gift is a Gucci bag which she bought in a nearest shopping mall here. She didn’t want that her gift is just a dress like what the hell!

We went out and wait for a taxi but just as what I expected, there’s nothing.

“Looks like we will be late on the party.” Auzia uttered bored sitting at the bench here at the waiting shed. I was about to answer her when an idea popped out in my mind. I’m thinking whether this is a good idea or not but this is the only choice we have.

Dialling…

“Wife?”

I arched my left eyebrow hearing his frontline greet. It feels like he’s really expecting me to call him even I just gave him my number not a moment ago.

“Don’t call me that Kin. I said I’m not yours.” I heard him chuckled. Auzia looked at me trying to ask ‘why I have his number’. I gave her an ‘I’ll explain later’ look before speaking.

“By the way, can you pick us here at our place? We can’t find a taxi here.” I asked him in a plain tone voice trying to sound bored for him. I don’t want him to think that I am interested with him, even I am. What can you expect with this man by the way?

“You’re with Auzia?” I glanced at Auzia whose bus fixing her heels

“Yeah.”

“I’ll be right there. Give me a minute wife.” After that line, he ended the call. He didn’t even let me answer or bid a goodbye. What an asshole!

I was about to rub my ass on the bench when an immense Lamborghini car stopped in our front. Auzia is currently in standing ovation looking at Kin’s car. I know it’s his because that’s the car that he used last when he brought me here.

Not a moment when its window slowly opened down and I saw him wearing a gray turtle neck jacket with tuxedo.

“Hop in.” I was astounded because of his cool dashing vibe. Why does he have to be handsome as hell?

“Babe you’ll be here.” My stares landed on Jacob when he suddenly gets out of the backseat. He’s here to? But Auzia apparently love that idea. Who cares anyway?

I’m in the front seat both of the lovebirds are on the back. And they are really acting like lovebirds! Hey guys, single here?

“You want that too?” a creepy husky voice whispered in me which sent me shivers. I glared t him which made the asshole chuckle, amused by my annoyed face. After a minute, he focused on driving which made the atmosphere more peaceful.

At Calli’s house…

“Woah, so this is the life of a Calli Santiago? No wonder she’s acting with etiquette and grace. This is place is like a castle already.” Auzia commented gapping. I arched my eyebrows at here thinking the fact that she’s richer than Calli. Only that Auzia’s acting without grace and etiquette, which I am not wrong with this, because she spent her childhood days almost with us since her family is busy back then.

“Don’t be amazed with those little things Auzia. I know you’re richer than this.” She stopped gapping at those lights on the entrance and looked at me, or should I say glared at me.

“Fine. Can’t I just pretend that I am amazed?” She ranted, annoyed. The hell with this woman right now?

“You’re that rich babe?” Jacob overreacted with that.

“Not so, Slight, I guess, but you can say that too.” Auzia nonchalantly answered her boyfriend before entering the mansion.

The party is at the poolside which we still too enter their dining area. As my eyes enlightened by what’s in the pool, I was taken aback with the whole area. This house of Calli is really a perfect dream mansion of everyone. The shape of their pool is trapezoid with lights at the bottom that makes it more glamorous. There are also water lilies in the pool with scented candles above it.

“This party is great!” Jacob commented while roaming his eyes around. We group ourselves just in one corner so that we can still talk when we got bored. There are benches all around the pool and also small tables with different kinds of food.

“Let’s go?” Kin offered his hand and I didn’t reject it. For the reason that I don’t want to slip and I don’t want to embarrass him in front of these women whose busy gawking at us.

“Good evening everyone. I’m Mrs. Cassandra Santiago, mother of Calli. I want to thank all of you for coming here this night to celebrate the twentieth birthday of my princess. I hope you’ll enjoy the rest of the show and thank you again.” A happy birthday song was sung by us and the other visitors after the small speech of Calli’s mom.

I didn’t bother to sing with the crowd because it’s already loud enough for Calli to feel that it’s her birthday. I don’t want them also to discover my talent, kidding!

“Hey want to eat something?” I look up at him and he’s staring at me, well I guess I could say that was a normal stare. But his dark eyes are really tempting me for something that I must hold back myself from it. Damn!

“Sure.” I answered avoiding his stares. I can’t resist looking at him in that way. Something’s really pulling me or pushing? I don’t know!

“What do you want?” I shifted my gaze at the table looking for my food. I scanned all the foods that we’re placed there, or you can say that it was just displayed since no one is touching those foods, and I couldn’t recognize any of them.

“Any of it will do. Just not salty.” I mentioned which he immediately obeyed.

"He, why did you shoo Kin away?” Auzia asked in her usual OA pitch before sitting right next to me. I can see Jacob on the other side having a call. Who is it?

“Stupid. He presented himself to get me some food so he left.” I point out the reason to her while observing Kin who’s busy choosing my food.

“By the way, Jacob is talking with whom? A fling?” Auzia’s lit up face suddenly became sullen and depressed.

“You and your stupidity. He’s having a call with Clay. He said that they wanted to come here too.” I nod at her trying to tease her with her reaction but she just rolled her eyes at me

“Hey babe.” I unconsciously raised my eyebrows at Jacob but that dumbass didn’t notice me. “I’m going outside. I’m gonna fetch Clay and Jiana outside.”

“Jiana?” Auzia asked with full of confusion. I know that she was jealous in that part. It’s obvious that Jiana is a name of a woman.

“Don’t worry babe. I’m all yours. Jiana is Clay’s.” Jacob gave her a wink which made by bestfriend blushed like an idiot. She’s even smiling and avoiding Jacob’s stares because of her flushed face.

“How flirty!” I said without looking at them and rolled my eyes. Jacob just smiled at me and left us clueless about his smile. What was that?

“What?” I asked her curiously. What’s with her stares too? Her and her boyfriend are really the same.

“Whatever killjoy. I’ll have my revenge once you’re the one who’s jealous with Kin.” I let out a loud chuckle thinking that that thing will never happen.

“Seriously? Jealous? Auzia, did you forgot? I’ve already dumped many guys back in high school so why bother? I can leave that dumbass alone if he will do no good to me.” Did she really forget that?

“Yeah right princess of the bitches.” She even emphasized the word bitches which made me grin at her. “I remember it. That’s your nickname right?” I flipped my hair and rolled my eyes at her. I’m not acting like a bitch here but this is just my other way of saying of course.

“I’m not going to do anything wrong to you wife so stop nagging like you are in high school.” Our souls and spirits almost left our bodies as we heard Kin’s voice beside us holding my plate and his. Since when is he here? He didn’t even bother to make a nose or something?

“How long you’ve been there?”

“Enough for me to hear you being a princess of the bitches.” I somewhat heard his sarcastic voice there which made me smirked at him. And what’s his point there? It’s not his business anyway so not a big deal.

“Here. This is all I’ve got. I don’t want to be an apple of the eye there.” He placed at the small table beside us the plate of my food with fresh vegetable salad and a black forest cake. Not bad.

“And here’s for you Auzia. I know Jacob didn’t get you some food so I‘ve already get yours.” Auzia was just staring at Kin holding a plate with graham cake topped with mangoes and cherries and a bottle of wine for the four of us

“T-thanks.” Auzia, or I don’t know if I am right this time, she’s kind of tensed when it comes to Kin. Maybe she didn’t expect this side of Kin. Yeah, somehow Kin is a gentleman and a thoughtful guy. But I know he has bad sides. Everyone has.

“Hey. I’m back and here is…wait who gave you those foods? I’m planning to get some foods for you babe. Who gave those fucking ugly graham cake?” Jacob.

“Me. Any problem with that?” Jacob’s rants turned into smiling idiotic face while tapping the back of Kin.

“See, I told you. Kin’s a gentleman. I don’t have problem with that bud.” So they fear Kin? What’s with him in the first place? He’s just giving some death stares to Jacob but the latter is just smiling nervously like he did something.

“Hey man.” Our entire gaze landed at the two persons walking towards us. And there’s Clay in his white shirt and ripped jeans. “This is Jiana, my girlfriend.” He introduced while looking at the woman named Jiana.

“H-hi…N-nice to m-meet you.” Stammering, she greeted us with a flushed face. Is she shy or about to poop?

“Nice to meet you too. I’m Auzia. Jacob’s precious woman.” Auzia nonchalantly greeted the woman who’s still in shock why Auzia’s talking to her. “You’re so beautiful and cute!” my bestfriend giggled with too much act holding the hands of Jiana.

“Ah…t-thanks.” Jiana just smiled at her which made me chuckled with their reactions.

“Hello there. I’m Diana.” I finally have the chance to introduce myself. I will look like a bitch if I won’t introduce myself to her anyway

“Hello.” She greeted back. “I’m Jiana.”

“So can I leave her here for a while? I have to talk to Jacob and Kin.” Three of the man stared at each other like it is a contest and somewhat, I fell like they are talking through their eyes because Jacob and Kin also got the idea immediately. I didn’t even know what it is.

“Of course. She’s our friend already. Right?” Jiana just nod at my bestfriend being a creepy overacting girl right now.

“I’ll be right back wife. Don’t go anywhere.” My body stiffened, my heart suddenly raced with nothing but itself and my skin felt the electricity that I never felt before when Kin put a kiss on my forehead. That electric vibe that flowed in my veins gives me goose bumps. I know that it was just a kiss but that kiss means respect.

Three of them went into the area where Calli’s mom spoke a while ago. I don’t know but there’s something with them that I don’t understand. They act strange and they talked like secret agents. Or maybe it’s just my hallucinations.

“Hi Diana. OMG! You’re here!” I stopped my so called imagination when someone called me and…”Oh Calli! Happy Birthday!” I greeted her on the top of my lungs. Why am I so excited anyway?

“Happy Born Day girl.” Auzia greeted too in her weirdest words the give a hug to the latter.

“Thanks for that gift Diana. That was limited edition and you got it. So far your gift is the most precious for me. I love it.” Memories in the mall flashed again in my mind. If she only knew that that bag was Sty’s choice and money, she won’t thank me right now.

Smiling up to her ears, Cali asked about Jiana. “By the way, who is she?”

“She’s Jiana. Clay’s girlfriend.” Auzia introduced. Jiana just gave Calli a small smile thinking that it’s too awkward for her and Calli since they only met right now and it’s not just a normal meeting but a birthday party.

“Happy Birthday Ms. Santiago.” Jiana greeted with courtesy. She’s quite polite and well mannered. I wonder what school she applied for since she hasn’t stained her angelic attitude. “I w-wanted to g-give this to you. A gift for you Ms. Santiago.” She handed a small box to Calli which made the latter excitedly accepted it.

“I prefer Calli. Just call me Calli. Since you are also friends with Auzia and Diana, perhaps we could be good friends also.” Jiana gave her a shy smile and just silence herself to stop the conversation, which I also wanted to do.

(Jacob’s POV)

“So they’ve attacked our house? How did they manage to get our address?” I growled in annoyance. Our place is quite hidden and we didn’t let anyone to know our address except, maybe except with our brides. So how come that they discovered that?

“I don’t know too. I’ve reached our house and they are already there. Only Flicke and Dew know how they entered the house.” Clay answered concerned. Yes, I can sense concern in Clay’s eyes. Even with Kin. Their facial expression is obviously showing concerns with, I don’t know. Something important.

Maybe with our brides? They are powerless to fight these creatures and that’s scares us.

“Any damage?” Kin.

“Nothing. As I arrive there, Flicke already transfer the battlefield into other places which made no damage to the whole house.” Clay answered. But it doesn’t mean that this is already settled. Dark Wizards already knew our address and anytime they could come back to finish us.

“We should leave right now. The next thing that could happen is already the worse one if we will still stay there.” I came out a suggestion. “And we must tell our brides about this. They must know this already because…”

“Not now Jacob. We can leave the house but we can’t still tell them about this.” Kin opposed my idea which made me furrowed my brows at him.

“He’s right bud. We still don’t know how they will react or worse they could leave us.” That made me thinks for seconds. I don’t want Auzia to leave me like that.

“Who’s leaving?” three of us went stiff and hard like a statue when we heard the voice of Diana.

“Me. I have important things to do about our transfer.” Three of us locked our stares with us.

Let me handle this – Clay

Make sure you won’t get caught – Kin

“Transfer? Why are you transferring? Does the school gives you a hard time?” Calli also entered the conversation with Auzia and Jiana.

“Not the school. We will transfer house.” I ride the lies of Clay since these women are quite curious and investigative.

“Oh so you are leaving now?” Diana asked. I don’t know if it’s just me but looking at Diana, I think she’s not convinced with our reasons.

“Yes and happy birthday Calli. I want to spend my time here but the landlord already called me that we can already transfer.” Calli just nod at him and didn’t ask anymore.

“No I understand it. Thanks for your gift. I like it.” Calli thanked with a wide smile on her face.

“Love, are you coming with me?” I can’t contain myself not to let out a soft chuckle with their call sign. It’s sweet but, nah I prefer my babe.

“Yeah I think so.” Jiana didn’t bother to thing with her answer. Me and the others that are left here went back to our place and continue with the party.

Jiana and Clay were ushered by the butlers going outside. Calli also bid her goodbye since she still needs to welcome her visitors. Most of them are business partners of her parents.

“After you transfer with your new home, can I come and visit there?”

(Third Person POV)

“After you transfer with your new home, can I come and visit there?” Jacob’s face went into its radiant red as Auzia request for something that he didn’t expect.

She’s trying to act cute for her boyfriend to say yes without complaining but Jacob felt different. His pet under his ruling become aggressive and alive. Plus the fact that Auzia is wearing a revealing kind of clothes.

“Control that thing Jacob.” Jacob, still in shock, looked back at Kin whose just standing at their side sipping his wine.

What are you talking about? Jacob asked with his mind.

You’re lust idiot! - Kin

“I‘m controlling it Kin. Don’t worry.” Jacob answered before facing his girlfriend. All of them went back with their own food after Jacob agreed with the request of his girlfriend which made Kin rolled his eyes.

On the other side of the other planet, Stygian’s castle is already full of holes and cracks with also because of his doings.

“That was as simple mission but still you FUCKING SLACKERS FAILED TO DO IT!!” Stygian conjured a giant ball of smoke and threw it on the silent mutant guard of the palace and eventually melted down as the smoke hit it.

“We are terribly sorry for what we have done my lord. I want to volunteer to kill one of the descendants.” Stygian’s raging, angry eyes landed at the man who spoke as a volunteer. It is one of his slaves which he gave some special powers to be his army.

“What do you think you’re thinking that you are capable of doing it? You’re just a mere being and if I didn’t give you that power you’re nothing.” Voice of Stygian is covered with thick sarcasm and anger.

“This is already a warning to the four of you. Leave this place now. Go back to earth and kill those fucking descendants. Don’t ever come back here without killing them.” The four slaves bowed at their ruler before leaving the palace.

“Do you want me to accompany them my lord?” Drake, his right hand, asked with courtesy.

“No need. I need you for the final encounter. I know they can’t kill the five. I’m just sending them for the five to know that I could already penetrate human beings using my power.” Stygian answered the latter while drinking the black sacred liquid that gives him the power that he have.

“Wait a little bit longer Kin. You’re party is coming.”
