I Finally Found You

“What’s…happening…”

Could it be…it’s what Lorenzo was talking about? The fight? Is this it?

Why has no one told her? She could have just stayed outside. She wants out of there.

Nothing is happening yet she can feel the tension building up inside the big room. It might be wide, spacious but she can still feel the heat between the two groups.

If she’s going to use her mind, a fight is going to start at any second now.

The guy in the middle chuckled softly. “Violent as ever, Mr. Young...”

Her eyes narrowed into slits. That’s a familiar voice but she can’t tell who it was. Just like them, they're covering their faces. Not even their noses are sticking out.

From his tone, she can tell he’s not taking Lorenzo seriously. Contrary to that, he finds him amusing.

Just who is that guy that he finds Lorenzo funny? She can’t even see him as one. She only sees him as a dangerous person.

Perhaps the only thing they’re alike is…both of them aren’t scared of him.

“There will be no killings,” the last one finally spoke. Overall, they’re three, three men. “since as I can see, you brought an outsider. That’s not her, is it?”

She flinched. There’s no way he’s not referring to her. She doesn’t know a single thing about what is happening and is going to happen that makes her an outsider.

She thought she’s invisible since she’s standing behind the guys who are all taller than her.

“Then how are we going to win?”

“First one to fall loses. We’ll let you have what you want.”

The three guys stood up at the same time.

Cheska feels the supremacy from how they move, how they talk, and how they walk. Their whole existence screams puissance.

It’s like those three…are higher than Lorenzo. Higher than them.

Her brows furrowed. “Higher…than them?”

Her jaw slowly dropped when the fight has finally started. Some are throwing punches and some are dodging them.

They’re all fast that she could barely follow them using her eyes. They all know what move they should do next but unfortunately, their next moves are readable. They are all predicted by both parties.

“I’m now familiar with your moves. Thanks to all those times of losing against you,” Lorenzo said.

The guy laughed at it. “Losing has an advantage after all?”

“At least show some fear!”

“I won’t,” he held his wrist and pulled slightly closer to him. “You only look scary but I will never be scared of you…”

She placed her palm at the top of her chest. She can’t understand what exactly she’s feeling. She can feel her heart pounding but not because of her illness.

She’s not tired. She’s not in any pain.

She feels…excited.

And that’s what she finds enigmatic. Why is she getting excited by just looking at them fighting? She should feel scared and unprotected.

But no. She can feel her eyes sparkling in amazement. She’s not nervous unlike what she felt before witnessing the astounding fight.

“Strange…”

In the middle of amazement, she suddenly felt something touched her cheeks. It’s like a wind, a sharp wind.

Is that even possible? But she felt a stinging pain right there. She touched it to see if she’s just imagining things or not.

When she looked at her fingers, she found blood. The glasses she’s wearing even fell to the ground because of that swift move.

Her eyes are now exposed.

“What the?” Kenneth glared at the guy who threw the dagger. “You know she’s an outsider!”

“This room is our battlefield. You brought her here that makes her part of this fight.”

His face darkened. The furrows on his brows deepened. That’s dirty—no, he doesn’t know if it’s even classified as dirty.

He’s right. They brought her along when she could have waited outside. The hell they know in the first place that they’re willing to involve an outsider in their fight?

Cheska looked at the door behind her. It’s not a wind after all. It’s a dagger. This is her first time seeing one in person. She only sees them in books.

The throw was so strong. She can tell it from how it’s still deeply buried in that thick wooden door.

Instead of feeling fear, she feels something burning up inside her body. She’s getting more excited.

She feels…itchy?

“Don’t worry,” he put out another dagger. “even if she falls, since she’s not part of your group, her fall isn’t counted. Entertaining, isn’t it?”

Kenneth was about to hold his arm but the dagger is already in the air traveling at unimaginable speed to Cheska who’s not looking in front.

Lorenzo’s eyes widened. With that throw, she will not only be scratched just like what happened to her cheeks.

Something worst might happened.

“Cheska!” he was about to step forward when something stopped him.

His eyes widened. Everyone’s eyes widened.

Cheska finally looked in front. Her eyes squinted as she stares at the dagger right in the middle of her two fingers.

It was too close to her eyes that if she failed to catch it at the most perfect timing, she might already be blinded by now.

She inspected it closely and slowly slid her fingers to its blade, feeling its sharpness. It’s sharp. Really sharp that even lights from the room are reflecting from it. Its lucidness is as clear as a mirror.

An idea flashed in her mind. She knows someone threw it on her. She wants to do the same.

Not as revenge. She wants to try to throw that dagger.

She simply wants to try it.

She looked up, meeting that guy’s eyes. She looked at him innocently.

Thinking she’s harmless, he didn’t move an inch when she raised her arms, preparing for a throw. She didn’t move her body that is why he knows...he knows the throw cannot be that strong.

But as soon as it flew to him, his eyes widened. The throw was strong—no, stronger than what he did.

He’s completely frozen.

How?

How did she able to execute a strong throw without even trying?

It didn’t land on his face. It didn’t land on his upper body.

He thought she missed what she wanted to hit until he felt his balance losing. When he looked down, the dagger is right on his knee.

“What the…”

His eyes flicked up, thinking that’s the last one but again, he’s wrong. Another dagger is going on his way at incredible speed.

He realized it too late when that dagger landed on his other knee.

He fell to the ground. He’s just sitting there, aghast.

“Who the hell…”

Cheska is still looking at him innocently—no, it’s not even innocence anymore. It’s too good for her.

She’s looking at him emotionless. As if she is not feeling anything about what she did.

She’s not proud of herself, she’s not happy about what she did, she’s not giving him an arrogant smile. She doesn’t care about what she did.

She just simply…moved.

She’s fast. He doesn’t know what happened in a short second of looking down but he’s sure…when he looked down, the girl went to the door and pull that dagger.

Since it happened in a split of seconds…there’s a possibility that she did not aim for him. She just threw it right after she pulled it from where it’s buried.

He had no time to process everything. He had no time to move. He has never seen a woman move like that before.

Except for one.

Lorenzo kicked the leader’s knee while they’re in the middle of astonishment. He knelt.

Lorenzo surely doesn’t really like missing opportunities. Ralph did the same to the other one.

Meanwhile, Alex and Xander? Their eyes remained on Cheska, looking at her with pure amazement.

Even with the defeat, the leader laughed crazily. It made everyone turn to him.

Lucky for him, he’s wearing a mask and glasses. No one could see what’s below those disguises.

Tears fell down his cheeks as he continues his meaningful relief laugh.

“Fuck…” he muttered. “I finally found you…”
