“Yes Ron.” Patrick looked at me once asking for permission. I nodded at him to continue, “She was in town.”
Aaron shot me a brief glance. We were currently sitting in my Study. I confirmed, “She was last spotted near the Park where Amara was at, with her Nanny.”
He shook his head, “What would she want now, after all these years?” He waited for my response. My jaw tensed thinking about the worst situations involving Amara. What did she want this time? I know she was working with someone.
What if they were behind Amara? Would they try to take her away once more? What’s their next move? My mind was blowing off.
“We were trying to figure it out. But we have been missing some pieces here.” Patrick explained, sighing he wiped his face in frustration.
“We tried to get a hang of her location, but she wiped all her traces.” He added. “I think she might be working with someone.” Aaron remarked. “Or maybe, for someone.”
I covered my face and ran my hands through my hairs for the hundredth time. Patrick shook his head and pointed out, “Whoever it was, they were smart enough to let her sneak inside town. She even vanished after the stunt she pulled the other day at the club.”
Aaron got suspicious, “Seems like she wanted to be found by either one of you.” That made sense. But why? We discussed some more about the issue till late that night.
Later Aaron and Patrick left around 10 pm that night. Aaron had to visit his Devil of a little sister and Patrick had to attend work tomorrow, so both left. I wondered what the little red headed devil must be doing right now.
I smirked at myself remembering today’s incident and went on to find Amara. I did not spend much time with her since her Missing Case. I was so engrossed in finding out who was behind it that I neglected her. I felt sorry that I couldn’t save her from getting kidnapped.
I wanted to thank Ms. Blossom for saving her, or else she might have got lost. And I wouldn’t have forgotten myself. I guess I should talk about that to Ms. Blossom someday.
I loosened my tie, opened first few buttons of my shirt and turned to climb the stairs to my room. It was hell of a tiring day. I wanted to get fresh and meet Amara, but I heard some voices from the kitchen.
I headed towards it and started to listen to the voices. When I reached there I saw Amara was crying and her nanny was trying to convince her. “Please Sweety; let’s eat something first, then we can go find your friend.”
Amara whined some more. She started to rub her eyes and wipe the tears from her chubby cheeks, “I wanna meet her now.”
Her nanny, Sierra, got frustrated, “But where would we find her? I don’t even know why you even want to meet her.” “Because I wanted to give her this,” Amara then took a crumpled piece of paper laying on the dining table. She showed it to Sierra. “Aww honey. That’s so nice. You wanted to show this to your friend?” “Y-y-yes.”
By that time Amara started to hiccup. It was strange, she did not have much friends. She did not even go outside because of safety issues. Then who was the friend she was talking about?
I entered the kitchen and approached Amara. She instantly flung her little arms towards me. I took her in my arms and she buried her face in my neck.
I held her close and kissed her temple. I asked Sierra to show me the paper. It seems like a drawing of peoples she must have seen when she was lost few weeks ago.
I did not get anything from it because it was made by a three year old after all. I smiled seeing that she was taking interest at things finally. “Hey Ams, could you please tell me what this picture means baby?”
Amara looked at the paper and said, “It’s my friend, the red one. She was nice.” Ooohhh, that pointed straight towards only one Red Head that Amara had met. I sighed and made her sit on one of the chairs in the kitchen.
“Look sweetheart, first you should eat something because it’s getting too late.” She shook her head and pouted some more. She looked away and protested, “But I wanna see her now.” A lone tear tried to escape from her beautiful Glassy Gray eyes. A trait she inherited from her father’s side of family.
I made her sit on the counter and wiped it. I cupped her face and tried to convince her, “Okay. We will meet her now. But you have to promise me that you will have dinner later. Do you Promise?”
Her mood got brightened up instantly. She nodded her head vigorously, in an animated way, and giggled, “I pawmise, I will eat.” I smiled at her and lifted her up. It was time to meet the devil for the 3rd time for the day. I took my car keys, told Sierra to head home and left for the city.
