I missed you too

I pulled into the driveway of Ms. Blossom’s apartment. I took Amara in my arms and got down from the car.

Amara rung the doorbell clutching the paper in her other hand. There was no response at first but after some time the door was flung open.

There was a guy standing in the door. But what amazed me more that, he was the same guy who was with Ms. Blossom this afternoon! He was in his casual attire wearing black jeans and a white shirt. He looked at Amara and then looked at me in a confused look. Like we have arrived at the wrong door.

I cleared my throat. He got out of his trance and asked, “Oh, I am sorry Mr. Knight. But what are you doing here? Isn’t your house supposed to be at the opposite side of the city?”

Ohh, Smart Mouth. I narrowed my eyes at him and replied, “This isn’t your home either, so aren’t you supposed to be in your house at this time?” It was almost 11 pm at night. He looked taken aback.

He scratched his neck, “We planned on crashing here because it’s weekend. So that’s why I can’t go home.” I nodded at him and was about to respond but was cut off by the familiar voice of Ms. Blossom.

“Hey, what’s taking you so long?” She stood behind I assume to be Mr. Hart. She did not know who was standing at the door. “You have a visitor,” Mr. Hart stepped aside and got vanished in her room. A wide eyed Gloria stood there in her pajamas. She looked hot? No no no no no no! She wasn’t even my type!! I needed to sleep. I was clearly hallucinating.

All of a sudden Amara wriggled out from my grasp as soon as she saw her and ran upto meet Ms. Blossom. She hugged one of her legs as she was so little. Ms. Blossom just gawked at her shocked.

I cleared my throat. The Red Devil then realized that I was still standing on her door step so she stepped aside. I got inside her little apartment, hands in my pockets.

Amara showed Ms. Blossom the drawing she made. “I made it for you.” Ams said in her cute little voice. Gloria looked at her in admiration. She saw the drawing and pulled Amara in for a hug. “Ooohh, thank you so much little one.” Ams hugged her back.

Ms Blossom broke the hug and said, “I missed you Amy.” And to my surprise Ams said something in her baby voice, I wouldn’t have expected, “I missed you too.” She then smiled at Ms. Blossom sweetly.

I was left there shocked. Amara never told that to a stranger before. What made her say it to a lady she met few weeks ago? Ms. Blossom kissed Amara on her cheeks, tickling her a little and she giggled in response. Ams was clearly enjoying it.

She then picked her up and examined the drawing some more. After some moments she asked Ams, “Hey Amy, the Red one is me right?” Amara nodded her head making her pigtails wiggle, “Yeah.” Ms. Blossom had a curious expression on her face. “So who are the others in the drawing baby?”

The last line made my heart skip a bit. How could I have not thought about that earlier? I got closer to Ms. Blossom who was looking even more short in her pajama pants. I asked her to Hand me the drawing. I made a mental note to show it to Patrick the next day.

“Hey Ams, are these your friends?” She shook her head. “Noooo. She took me from park. SiSi not there.” She called her Nanny SiSi because it was difficult for her to call her Sierra.

That made my blood boil. How could Sierra be so careless? And who the fuck was that lady who took Ams away from her Nanny? How did that even happen? I could not connect the dots. Ms. Blossom then looked at the paper once more, “And who’s that guy baby?”

Amara went silent for a minute. “SiSi’s friend.” I got suspicious. There was something fishy with that guy. But what made me wonder was the man had green colored eyes.

There was only one man I know who had the Green eye color. And if I am not mistaken then I couldn’t trust anyone with Amara and she wasn’t safe in the city anymore. I hurriedly took a hold of her and bidded my goodbye to Ms. Blossom. I thought about explaining things to her later on Monday. Currently I had to keep Ams safe somewhere.
