Mr. Devil Knight

The next day we all went for the trek at the hills. It was almost 10 and a half hour journey. Lucy and Jordan were fun to be with. I liked spending time with those two.

I returned home all tired and numb. Thank god next day was Sunday!! I made myself a promise to go for a run and do some Home Work out in the morning. I was getting low in energy quickly and I did not want to become a zombie.

I missed Mel though. I wondered where she was. I didn’t see her for the rest of the weekend as she was busy with this guy I didn’t have any idea about.

I tried calling her several times but it went straight to her voicemail. She came back home late on Sunday night with a hickey on her neck!! I was mad at her for not telling me anything. She apologized to me and promised that she would tell me everything at the right time.

Soon the dreading Monday came. Today I was supposed to actually work in the big project at The Knight’s Inc.

A board meeting was held at 9 in the morning which would explain the need of the project and how the Boss needs everything to be.

I got ready for the meeting wearing a cream colored blouse and some white pants. God bless my Whites! That look made my red hair stand out. I left the apartment saying good bye to Mel. Making a mental note to talk to her tonight, I climbed into my Crosstreks and took off for office.

Mr. Joshua was excited for me being working with him. He liked my designs. I showed him my apartment pictures. He liked the way I designed it to make it look even bigger than its actual size.

I was supposed to get introduced to everyone involved to discuss ideas. The other team members were going to assist me. We all were seated in the board room at the 38th floor of the building.

We were waiting for Mr. Knight to start the meeting. There were almost 30 or so people sitting across two rows made of wooden table. There was space in between the two rows.

The head chair was exactly in front of the door. A projector was hanging from the ceiling, facing the white wall.

There were several peoples sitting in the Board room. I knew some of them since Haley introduced us. Some were unknown to me still.

I wondered if they were the share holders and suppliers. Everybody went silent when the main door opened and in came a grumpy looking Mr. Devil Knight. He was looking scary. I bet he got his foot in dog shit today! Ha!

I stood up with others to show respect to the CEO? Were these guys gonna bow to him now? Soon Haley came from the same door and stood beside Mr. Devil. He nodded at everyone and took his seat. Haley took a seat at his right.

Mr. Devil made eye contact with everyone and greeted, “Good morning,” and when his icy grey once fell on mine he paused a little, “Everyone.” We held gazes for a moment. I could sense that he was stressed over something. I quickly averted my gaze from him when Haley cleared her throat.

Thank god no one noticed because they were busy thinking about the presentation. I smiled at Haley and she winked at me! When I looked at him again his ears were tainted a light shade of pink. Gotcha!

After that the meeting started with Aiden’s speech. He proposed some ideas for the current project going on in North America.

At the end of the speech he mentioned my name and I smiled at everyone. I was going to design furniture and stuff in that Grand Hotel at the Big Pine Key, South Florida. It was range of Beach islands which had potential to become a tourist spot. Of course because of the beautiful beaches there!!

It was a great idea to open a Hotel line there. That would definitely benefit The Knight Inc. and add up to the tourism economy of the country!! It will make many jobs available in that area as long as people come for vacations and spend quality time at the vast range of sea shore area!!

The construction was almost complete. Within a year it would be ready to get launched. But Aiden had a plan to launch it before this year ends. I bet that’s even possible. Because everyone would have to work non-stop to make that happen! I hoped that everybody’s hard work pays off.

We were in the meeting for almost two hours and my eyes started burning with sleep. It was my first meeting as an Interior Designer. My eyes were closing shut and my head started to fall to the side.

I knew in my half sleepy state I sure was going to embarrass myself. Suddenly I heard my name being called and silence falling over the room. My body got awakened by it and I saw everyone was staring at me!!

Ohh Noooo!!! I composed myself and tried to focus on the guy who was presenting the structure of 5th floor of the hotel. I could tell from the corner of my eyes that Mr. Grumpy Pants was staring at me.

He was shooting death glares at me for so long that I wanted the ground to open up and swallow me. I was sure he was going to throw me out of the building for not paying attention.

Ohh Dear Lords! Please have Mercy! I contemplated whether to look down or to look in the other direction. But I did the mistake which I shouldn’t have made that time. I looked into the pools of Icy Grays.
