CHAPTER 7- LUNCH

Victoria followed closely behind as the waiter walked her over to an empty table already reserved for her and Wes.

A quick glance at her watch told her she was 5 minutes early. Requesting for a glass of water, she sat down at the nearest seat and wait anxiously.

"I'm sorry to keep you waiting love." Victoria was startled by the voice beside her but immediately recognizing it as her husband, she relaxed as he kissed her cheek and took the seat opposite her.

Ready to place her order, Victoria turned her head to address the waiter beside her.

"Umm, I'd like a qinoa salad please" Then looking up expectantly towards her husband waiting for his order.

"Actually love, I'm sorry I forgot to let you know, I had called ahead and already placed an order."

Turning to address the waiter, "Check with whoever is in charge, let them know Wes Knight is here. They'll know what to do."

They watched him walk away as Wes finally begun the conversation.

"So how've you been Rose?"

"Good, what about you?"

"I've missed you"

She laughed. "Don't let Monique hear you say that" she said.

"Ahhh, so you know her name"

"I do," she smiled. "But fake wife or not, I think its the duty of any sort of wife to ignore her husband's mistress which includes not knowing her name"

He smiled. "Does it get under you skin?"

"Does what?"

"Monique" He stopped to take a breathe, studying her expression. "and me." He added.

"Should it?"

"I'd like to think so" he grinned.

'Does it?' She thought to herself. Sitting in the restaurant with her husband before her, Victoria couldn't help but let her mind wonder back on his words. 'She felt pain on how inconsiderate he was of the fact that his behavior affected her business... Was that it? Was that what he meant?'

"Victoria"

Her head snapped up.

"You okay?"

"Yes, sorry Wes I was thinking" she smiled shyly.

"No worries Rose, I was asking you to accompany me as my date to a gallery opening two weeks from today"

"Of course"

Happy that she had agreed to go on a date with him, Wes leans back into his seat as their food arrive.

The first thing Victoria notices as the waiter approaches was the fact that he had 3 dishes with him. Her curiosity intensified when she noticed that he had placed the third dish in front of the chair beside both her and Wes.

The food smelled amazing, her stomach growled in hunger. Embarrassed by the sound her stomach had just made, her mind scrambled to make conversation in hopes to get his mind off the fact tat her stomach had just growled.

Seizing the one other thought that was on her mind she voiced them.

"A third plate?"

The humor in his eyes gone. He nervously looks away from her and looks around the restaurant.

As if to answer her unanswered question, she heard her voice.

"Hello"

'Ofcourse' Victoria thought bitterly to herself. He'd bring her with him.

Keeping her tone controlled and calm she smiles up at Monique.

"Monique, to what do I owe the pleasure?"

Her eyes fixed on the blond beside her trying not to notice the fact that Wes had gotten up to pull out her chair.

Monique merely flashed her an irritated look then completely ignored her, turning towards Wes.

Victoria's smile grew wider. Monique had just shown her she was able to get under the woman's skin. 'Good' she thought. 'Now you know how I feel.'

"Ahem" Wes clears his throat, hoping the two cats in front of him would retract heir claws. He needed this to go smoothly as possible.

"Victoria, the main reason I got you here is because I wanted us to talk about our divorce and the months leading up to it."

A nod of acknowledgement from Victoria was all he needed to continue.

"My family is coming, I need you to come back home so they don't start asking questions."

"Me? And where will Monique go?"

"She's staying, she's not going anywhere."

At this Victoria couldn't help but stare at her husband with an eyebrow raises. Daring him to repeat his words.

"Are you daft?" She asked. "Doing just that could ruin my reputation! We have less then 3 months left Wes, can't the both of you hold it just for another 3 months! I will be a laughing stock should this leak out!"

Monique gritted her teeth. Meeting Wes' eyes as he looked at her, she shook her head 'no'.

She knew he'd listen. They had a baby on the way and Wes being the gentleman he is, she knew would never let her go. 'Foolish man' she thought to herself. When he had found out she was pregnant with their babe he wanted to divorce his wife right away. She had to convince him not too or else he'd lose everything. She'd been really careful so far, trying to make sure he would never get the idea she was using him for his money and now so close, there was no way she was leaving him alone.

With a shake of head from Monique, he turned back to Victoria. "She stays"

Lifting up her pointer finger, she moved it back and forth between the two of them, "and we?..."

"Same room, but don't worry I won't touch you"

Victoria tried to hide the laughter threatening to erupt from her. 'Lies' she thought and she knew he knew.

She shrugged, "no"

"No?"

"Yes, No. My answer is No"

A flicker of rage flashed through his eyes. Grabbing her by the hand, he yanked her off her chair around the side towards him. Not caring for a bit on how the edge of the table hit her hip, or small cry of pain she let out.

He crushed her in a hug and forced out a smile. Then, to her otter shock he said bellowed out, loud enough for everyone to hear "We are Pregnant!" Laughing, he voiced himself again "My wife is pregnant!"

Then moving his hand down to her hip she hit earlier he squeezed hard. "Smile darling" he whispered in her ear. "Don't forget our beautiful contract, I will bring your company down and everything you've worked hard for if you don't comply with my orders the next few days. We clear?"

She nodded.

"Great, now get the fuck out of my sight" he hissed. The smile on his face in no way hinting anger he felt at that moment. Accepting the congratulations she received she left with the excuse she had her doctors appointment.

Watching her walk out the door, Wes sat. He shouldn't have done that, but he was frustrated. He wanted her, but she kept rejecting him. 'Didn't she feel the same electricity he felt when they were around each other?!'

Wes groaned in frustration. Perhaps if he just slept with her once, he could fuck her out of his system but he needed to be careful. He couldn't risk Monique finding out about it, or her father would have his head now that she was pregnant.

In an attempt to reassure her everything was okay, Wes leaned over to hug the blond woman beside him. He smiled as he felt her hand roam over his groin and in attempt to turn her on as she was doing to him, he licked her ear seductively before leaning back into his chair and flashing her a smile with a wink. She blushed.

Settling the bill. They got up and left, eager to finish what they had just started not long ago. Both oblivious to the pair of sea-green watching them with great intent and anger.
