'This is silly!' Victoria screams into the palm of her hands as she covers her face, the lunch incident replaying in her mind. She was frustrated with herself and with what she had just allowed Wes to get away with.
However a faint voice from the back of her mind reminds her of their deal 2 years ago. She needed to see this through.
Trying not to let it affect her day any further than it already has, Victoria resumed with her work and daily meetings, promising herself a glass of champagne and a lavender soak when she gets home.
Hours later, the pain in her muscles more evident now then when she resumed from lunch. Her back stiff from slanting over her table editing what felt like an endless number of reports. She leans back into her seat, a twist to the left and then another to the right, she tries to relax her muscles in an attempt to take away the ache.
