A Different Perspective [4]

(Olivia)

Nothing’s different when I arrive on the school compound bright and early this morning. Ron meets me halfway to the door and we walk in together –bickering about our rehearsals about how well they seem to be going.

There’s one difference today, though. I’m earlier than Malory. She’s not in her class when I peek in to check, though Kyle is already up and running –probably on caffeine.

Kyle’s looking a little pale today.

When intermission rolls in, I finally catch a glimpse of Malory and Ron leaving their classroom. I stroll towards them with a relieved smile.

“How late did you stay up last night?” I ask her. “You came late today.”

“She rushed into class just as the first period was about to start,” Ron says, laughing. “Mal looked like she’d seen a ghost or something.”

“Did you sleep at all?” I ask, worried. “You do look... exhausted, today.”
