(Malory)

We’re eating dinner. Ron’s parents are as outgoing as my mom, and they’re chatting with Olivia and Kyle as if they’ve known them since forever. They’re chatting with me too, and though I’m smiling and laughing and replying and talking, I don’t feel too good.

When dinner’s just about ended, Ron turns to Kyle and gasps. “Duuuude,” he says, “They haven’t see my new ride yet.”

“No,” Kyle says, turning to Olivia and I, “They haven’t.”

He turns back to Ron and smirks.

Ron stands, snapping his fingers, “Guys, come on, I know I’m being a show off but come on. I’m so excited about this.”

“Are you going to walk with me?” Olivia asks Reed, lowering a hand beside him –he takes it and smiles, following her.

We walk out to the back of the house where three cars are parked. Ron hurries his way over to the third one.

Oh my god.

He’s so lucky.

Olivia remembers her gift and quickly hands it over to him. “I hope you like it,” she says.
