(Malory)
“I can’t even look you straight in the face,” I say.
He stops in the middle of a chew to stare at me.
Why did he have to sit opposite to me today?
Ron is sitting beside him, staring at his best friend in disbelief. Ron’s facial expression hasn’t changed since he first saw Kyle this morning.
“Me either,” Ron says. “I cannot believe this.”
Kyle ignores us. He carries on chewing. “So Malory,” he says, “We need to talk.”
“Yes, I am aware of that. We will fix everything this evening at practice. You are coming for practice, are you not?” I raise a brow, somewhat bored.
He takes a moment to swallow his food. “Yea. Duh.”
“This should be illegal,” Olivia mutters, “Kyle, you gave us no warning whatsoever. You had our oldest male teacher staring at you. Oh my god,” she says, face-palming.
I almost snort. “Mr Geizer? Oh my god,” I laugh. “Kyle, that’s a whole new level of disgusting that even I didn’t think you’d reach.”
