Somehow; Someday; Soon [5]

(Kyle)

The Diner closes and I spot Malory walking out with a blonde girl who looks our age. I walk out of the bookstore and into the cold again and she spots me from the distance and waves.

“Hey,” I say, shoving my hands into my jacket pockets.

“Katy,” Malory says, “This… is Kyle Davidson.”

“Oh, so you’re that Kyle Davidson I keep hearing about,” she says, staring me down from my feet to my hair.

“Uhh,” I turn to Malory, “How many people have you told about me exactly?”

“Like everyone?” She says, smirking and shaking her head with an eye roll.

I smirk. “I didn’t know I was that important.”

“You’re so thick-headed,” She says, turning to Katy, “See? I told you he was a prick.”

“You didn’t tell me he got a haircut,” Katy replies.

Malory scoffs, “Yea, well it doesn’t matter. It suits the whole asshole demeanour.”

I tap my chest and sniffle, “I’m right here, Lloyd. I’m right here.”
