Out of Time

“You know what?” Liam appears in my office just as I was finishing my work for the day. He continues before I have a chance to say anything. “Let's leave Denver tonight.” After all that happened this week, this suggestion is heaven sent. 


“I’d actually love that.” I reply, honestly. 


Going home, going to my safe place is exactly what I need. He watches me intensely looking like a cartoon cat who just swallowed a bird. And now it's trying to hide it, something is going on. 


“I'm almost done for today, but I can deal with everything on the way. Can you go now?” He asks. 


“Yeah, sure. Give me five minutes.” I reply. 


“See you in five.” He winks at me and disappears from my office as quickly as he materialized there. Minutes later, we are in the car. He pulls me closer. Turning his body in my direction. While I nestle my head in the crook of his neck. This is becoming my favorite place to be. 


“Are we going to your house to collect your things?”
