Chapter 41

Liam

It has been a while since you moved. I lay here staring in your red hair spread across the white pillows. I’m tethered to you, my arm resting along the gorgeous curve of your body. This is the most ordinary moment in the world. A moment I will never forget. The darkness in the room recedes slowly, dawn is coming.

I bury my face in the side of your neck and you move and protest in your sleep. It has been so long since I held another body in this way. So full of life and kindness, so different from others. All those women did nothing to ignite the spark of life in me. Unlike you. You give me passion, calmness, and a sense of joy I never felt before.

I revel in every second having you in my arms. From the moment you entered my life again you infected me with your trust in me and nothing is the same for me. I’ve lived more in these few days than in what feels like a lifetime before.
