Deep into his memory

Elizabeth's point of view:

"Hey! Listen to me. You've done nothing wrong, at all. Wanting to live is not a crime, you should be proud of how strong you are to stand against all of them." I tried to convince her that she did nothing wrong, not that I was lying.

I mean, since when fighting for life was to be counted as a crime. No matter what sort of magic she tried; no one has to convince her that she does not deserve a second chance, especially them.

...….

After a while of being quiet, I decided on speaking and asked her. "So, how about you tell me where we are?"

"We're in Italy ... Rome, can't you see it." She said, and all I said afterward was "Oh! I see it now."

I kept quiet, but not for so long since I finally said "Well, as people from Italy like to say 'chaio'. Let's never meet again."

"What? You're leaving! How about me? Where should I go, and what should I do?" She wondered, and I snapped at her.

"It doesn't seem to be my problem. I mean, look at you … Yeah, it was fun to escape together from that stupid quarter, but it's time for each of us to look for her own path – Don't you think?"

While I was talking, the little girl's eyes started getting puffy. No, she's not going to … Well, she is crying right now. 'Arghhhh'I can believe that I am doing this.

"Okay…! Fine … You can join me, but only for now. After that, you need to figure out what to do with yourself."

The young witch jumps while clapping her hands like a child, then she said while jumping.

"I promise, but just keep me with you now until I find who I am looking for."

I did not say a word, but honestly, I was happily taking her with me. Something about this girl feels special.

Our next move was the mansion where my friends and family are.

To my surprise, I could find no one when I was there. No one but Albert. He was in the middle of a very ruined room.

As he notices both of my presence and Evanora's presence, a weird look finds its way to his hateful face.

"You ... And you! Both of you. What are you doing here? Shouldn't you both have to get ready for your own death?"

I rolled my eyes while eyeing the dumb ass in front of me, and then I noticed something for the first time since I got here – Vervain.

I chuckled, which made him get mad, so he took a piece of a broken wooden chair, and he launched over my face. Lucky me, I am a hybrid, so I grabbed a piece of wood a few inches before my eyes.

Albert was always the calm type of person, so seeing him this way brings a delicate feeling to my heart.

Meanwhile, Evanora seemed not to be paying attention to us. She was like if she was trying to sniff while looking for something. Which pushes me to ask about what's wrong with her.

"What are you doing? Is everything alright?"

"Yeah!" She said, then she adds, "Do you smell this? It smells delicious, like chocolates mixed with strawberries."

"I can smell a lot of things around, but not what you're talking about?" I told her, but before she could answer Albert laughed from the bottom of his heart.

"I don't know if it's a blessing or a curse … The girl who's going to cause your death is no one but your brother's mate."

"What?" screamed both of us - me, and the young witch by my side in a union.

"Didn't you know? What were you thinking your brother was doing all the time while disappearing…? Nothing more than searching for his mate lovely mate, little he did know about what she was scheming for! And why do you think she's here – only to see her mate for one more time before she dies."

Evanora did not utter a word, but in somehow it all started to make sense now. I looked at the girl's face, and it was pale, she was afraid of my reaction, afraid of what her mate would think about her after he knew what she'd done.

"I would favor no one more than her to be my brother's mate." A look of shock was now drawn on both of Albert's and Evanora's faces while I was talking. "If I am alive right now, it's only because of how brave she is, I'm pretty sure that my brother would love more when he knows about this."

The 'so' terrified girl was not terrified anymore. She was more relaxed by now, but I can not say the same for Albert.

As I said before, seeing him that way brings peace into my heart … My exact reason to push his bottom.

"How rude I am … My apologies' Albert, but why exactly you're here … Alone. Have they forgotten to take you out with them, or they have done it intentionally? If they did, I can understand why!"

My brother's mate started laughing. As she did, I copied her and started laughing too. I honestly adore her so far, and I wish for her and my brother the happiness that I think I'll never have.

Lost in my thoughts, I was till Albert spoke again "It's all your fault you know?"

"Glad if it's my fault why you locked over here" I answered him right away. Surprisingly, he did not lose his control now, he was kinda calm.

"They took them both, they're going to die–both of your mates." He said, and panic started running all over my body. I can feel Evanora panicking too, but not my hybrid, and somehow, she was quiet – waiting for what's coming next.

"Set me free from this room, and I'll lead you to the others…" I cut him off, not believing him anymore.

"Cut with the none sense; I don't believe you..." I told him. He did not wait for me to finish before he starts speaking again.

"I am your only option, you want to believe me that's okay – You don't… still okay."

Well, that's what he believes and not what's going to happen. I stepped toward his room, and a smile was drawn to his face.

For a while, he believed that I was about to set him free, little he knew about what I was planning for him.

Like I did with Lorena, I grabbed him from the collar of his neck. Then I started enjoying the test of his blood.

Just like that, I started seeing through his memories. I would lie if I told you that I didn't feel bad for him. All those moments when he sees his father treating him like a stranger while his other brother gets everything, he ever wanted including his mate.

The way his mother was mistreated by everyone including his father, his life wasn't easy though.

As I was getting inside, the picture of his unhappy life was clearer than before. I dived into the darkest side of his brain, and I was shocked by what I was seeing.

The broken kid grew up to become a heartless psych killer, this of his brain was made to like a long path with too many rooms. One of the rooms was settled in the middle. What hooked me toward that room was that its door was not dark like the others–it was red and there was a sign on it. The signs said simply–The Forbidden Zone.

I tried to push the door open, but it was impossible for me to get in. As I was about to give up on going back to where I was going, the door opened by itself.

They said that curiosity killed the cat, but not in my case. What I've seen, got me curious more.

Lorena was holding a human girl who was crying - she pushed the girl to Albert, who was looking a bit unsure of what he had to do. But not for too long, since he tears the little girl apart.

I wanted to keep watching, but my hybrid warned me that if I keep here for too long, Albert might die.

So, I decided to focus more on my brother and mate, as I did when one of the doors got opened by itself. I followed the door to the room, and then I saw Albert talking to Evanora's grandmother.

He was warning her that Liam along with Logan, Elijah, and all the squad were coming to New Orleans to rescue me.

She promised him that none of them will be out of there alive, I've also seen that he was beaten by both of Liam and Elijah.

Just by then, I let him out of my hold, he falls down unconsciously next to my feet. I raised my head toward Evanora, then I told her

"We need to hurry! We don't have much time."
