Saturday, 22 March 1742

Dear diary,

Today we had breakfast from the meat the octopus woman had.It kinda tastes really good.I also fed Akane with lots of meat.She is really happy.I also asked Yane if she wanted some, but she refused and asked me for the woman's head.I was shocked when she ate the head, leaving behind only the skull and the brain.I asked her what thunder fairies eat and she said monsters' head.I was worried she would say humans' head but I worried over nothing.

She is really grateful for the head and she gave me a necklace with real pearls.The pearls are purple tinted and very shiny.

She really is amazing!

After breakfast, we packed the octopus meat and brought it with us incase someone gets hungry on the way.Suddenly, there is an earthquake.We looked outside and what we saw made our hairs stand straight.

We are not in our world.

The sky had turned purple and the ground is black.This scene is like a scene in a horror movie.Did we get transported here?

Then my head got lighter and everything faded to black.

When I fainted, I dreamt about my old memories.The memories when my family was still alive.I also dreamt about the happy days we shared and my mistake of going out the castle, the cause of their death.That was when I woke up.

But I remember something very vague in my memories.

There was a sign in our castle that I didn't remember.The sign kind of looked like a letter, but it was not a letter.

I first saw the sign when me and my family had gone camping in a nearby forest glade.

The sign was carved on a strange-looking stone.

The stone looked like it was half diamond, half stone.

and this sign that looked like an R, was carved on it.

What is this sign?
