"We're done." Evan whispers, snapping me out of my thoughts.
"Clear out!" He yells and we all run out the back door, Evelyn and I at the end. I can still feel his stare on me, but I refuse to look back to give him any satisfaction.
We pile into our cars and drive to the second gang house to drop off all the stuff we've collected.
We drop Rick home, before driving home ourselves.
"Got a few things today Erin?" Evan asks, looking at me through the little window hanging from the top of the car. I nod in response.
"Did you notice those guys at the back?" Evelyn asks. I stiffen underneath my hoodie.
"They seemed different. They weren't at all scared." She says, thinking. I try to act like I don't know.
"Maybe they're used to the raids." I suggest, but Evelyn shakes her head.
"I doubt that be the reason." She says and Evan nods along, just as he pulls into the driveway.
