Chapter Seventy Nine

He chuckles at my state.

"It's okay to be single. It's a great feeling. You can be selfish, like the selfish bitch you already are." He spits in my face and pushes past me, walking and blending in with the bodies in the distance.

I run to Avery who's now reciting rhymes and drag her out of the place and buckle her into the passenger seat.

"Where are we going? Stop! Don't kidnap me!" She screams, flailing her arms out.

"Shut up Avery, it's just me, Erin." I say, pushing on the accelerator and driving out of the parking lot.

"Lots of mans..." she whispers before the only noises I hear are her snores and the quiet rumble of the car tires.
