Speechless

I THOUGHT after that confrontation, everything will fall back to what it was before. I expected that he'll leave me alone and treat us as acquaintances.

'But boy, Was I so wrong.'

Eventually, shit happens and it's getting on my nerves.

Especially this guy named Knight. It feels awkward to call him by his real name. 'I don't want to attach myself anymore. Somehow I feel like I was betrayed.'

I choose to make myself busy with work. My lenses should be more focused on my priorities. Maybe love isn't just for me or maybe, I'll just play and entertain myself from time to time.

"Hey, it's time for lunch." Gloria notified me. "Yeah, just bought me the usual from Starbox." I didn't bother to look at her reaction. I was busy typing some important notes. "Are you sure? You didn't have enough breakfast." I paused.

"It's okay, really. Just go ahead, Gloria. I'm really busy right now." I heard the door closed. I'm not in the mood to eat. I'll probably drink some tea.

I heard a soft knock. "Gloria, I told you to leave me alone and just bring some snacks!" Irritation is present in my voice. 'Goodness. Sometimes she's a pain in the ass.'

"Don't starve yourself. You didn't even eat your breakfast." My eyes flew up immediately as a familiar deep voice spoke. "What are you doing here, Knight?" He placed the food on my center table.

"I brought some food, Dela Vega." He prepared the rice meals and the other foods too. "I said I'm still full." But my stomach betrayed me. It growled like a mad wolf. He scoffed. "Yeah, right."

Of course, my pride over starvation. I took a breath and controlled my annoyance before it flowed out. "No thanks, I'll just wait for Gloria." I continued typing. I saw him walking towards my table. I ignored him and minded my business.

I stood up in frustration when he forcefully closed my laptop. "What the hell, Knight? You're being rude. Can't you see I'm working?!" He just crossed his arms.

"Don't even wait for me to take that spoon and forcefully feed that food into your mouth, Dela Vega. I'm not joking." His voice, full of threat.

"I'm also not kidding when I said I'll wait for Gloria." He just smirked. "I told her that I already brought some food. She even thanked me." That kid!

"Now, come here and sit. Eat all of these." I don't have any choice but to follow him. I ate in silence but his stares are bothering me. "Can't you just also eat? Staring is rude, just so you know." He just shook his head.

He joined me at eating. 'That's great because he brought a lot. I can't even consume all of these. This is equivalent to two family meals. What the fuck is he thinking? I'm not Glutton!'

After eating a solo meal. I started wiping my hands and lips. "That's it? That's all you're gonna eat?" I raised my eyebrow. "Yes, that's what comprises my lunch." I gave him a glare. 'Don't you dare question me!'

"You're not like this when you're in Starbox. You can consume a whole blueberry cheesecake and a liter of tea." I raised an eyebrow. 'So, he's stalking me.' I shook my head in disbelief. "I lost my appetite." I stood up and walked towards my swivel chair.

"Finish that, Dela Vega. I'll stay here with you until you've finished them all." He smirked. "I don't care. I can handle those stares." I can easily ignore him.

'What a joke, Hime.'

"Try me, Dela Vega. This will benefit me more. " I sighed in defeat. 'Can someone grab him?' I didn't say anything, instead, I ate the remaining food.

'I can't deny how my stomach was satisfied until I consumed them all. I didn't eat dinner yesterday and I just had tea a while ago. But of course, I'm not telling him that. I mean, why would I?'

"Good girl, I'll see you later." He brought the trash and cleaned up my center table.

"What a weird creature," I muttered unconsciously.

I thought that was the last one. 'Yet, here he is, again.'

After Gloria dropped me off at my penthouse. I was a bit startled to see him cooking in my kitchen. 'Damn this guy!'

"Here, I made some garlic steak and sautéed veggies." I ignored him and slumped myself on the couch.

I don't usually cook. I have servants to do that for me. And whenever I'm here, I'll probably sleep or just order some.

"I had enough."

'Partly true, the lunch was too heavy.' But that didn't stop him from shouting a reply. "I insist, Dela Vega. Eat or I'll just throw this." I took another deep breath to control my rising anger. "Fine!" I tossed my bag aside and abruptly stood up. 'He really knows how to piss me off. I can't just waste food. That's equivalent to my money too.'

I rolled my eyes as I took a seat. The plates are already placed. A cup of rice was served. He even put some meat and veggies on my plate.

He smiled as he witnessed me taking a spoonful amount. It smells good. 'Oh, don't even ask about the taste. It's heavenly delicious.' My attention was taken by Knight's voice as he spoke. "Looks like it suits your taste." I didn't answer him.

Food and table etiquette matters.

He eats dinner with me. We ate in silence and that's great. I was about to wash the dishes when he stopped me. "Don't. Go take a rest. It's already late." my eyebrows furrowed. I glanced at my wristwatch.

It's already nine-thirty! I saw him shaking his head. I turned around and made my way towards my room.

'My beauty sleep is the most important thing.'

After washing myself, I slipped into my nighties and turned off the lights. I did some stretches before lying down.

I closed my eyes. Then open it, 'what about him? I won't let him stay here!'

I lazily stood up and turned on the lampshade. I brushed my hair in frustration. I walked around the living room.

I saw him watching some cartoons. "Why are you still here?" I crossed my arms and leaned on the nearest wall. 'It's late! He should go home already.' He only gave me a glance and continued to watch Adventure Time. "I'll leave once I make sure that you're completely resting."

'He's giving me a headache.' I shook my head and appeased my growing headache by massaging the spot between my eyebrows. "No, I can't sleep knowing a stranger is here with me." He just ignored me. 'Great!' Out of frustration, I threw my hands up in the air. "Knight!" No response.

"Aleron!" He's now looking at me like a kid. "Go home now!" He turned off the television and walked towards me. My forehead creased. "What now?"

He did something unexpected. "Good night!" He said that after kissing my forehead. I almost screamed.

"Cursed you to death, Knight," I muttered.

'Of course, no one heard me and I'm too tired to scream.'

IF YOU THINK that's it. Well, think again. Knight and his weird gestures continue.

I woke up from a nice dream. My morning was great. I'm grateful enough not to see any trespasser in the morning. After doing some stretching. I walked towards my kitchen to drink my morning tea.

I eat alone, but that doesn't mean I'm lonely. In fact, I'm happy. I love my peace so much. Before, I can walk naked here. But now, I don't think I can still do it. I really should improve my security.

After an hour, I was now dressed in my usual corporate attire. A buttoned top blouse that hugs my frame well, ladies slacks, and high heeled shoes. To top it all, my lips were coated with lip gloss. My handbag matches my go-to look.

I'm such a monochromatic hoe.

I've reached the ground floor in no time. The attendants greeted me and I just nodded. My driver opens the door for me. After everything was settled. The car moved.

I fished out my phone to check all my emails. I received some updates, but nothing important. I ditched my business phone and checked for the other one.

'Geez, I saw Gloria's cryptic message.'

It's a short audio clip of Taylor Swift's song entitled "Gorgeous"

Gloria the Kid:

[You got a boyfriend,

He's older than us,

He's in your penthouse,

Doing, I don't know what..]

I tried to call her, but no one answered. 'She's annoying me, since she can't get over the fact that her animals were shipped late.'

The car pulled over to my usual spot.

I heightened my senses and felt my surroundings for any kind of danger, namely Knight. Moments later, a wave of relief washed over me as I made sure that there was no sign of him anywhere near me. 'Chin up, Hime Dela Vega. Walk with your signature elegance. Continue nailing every single look.' I smiled widely.

'I'm really in the finest mood.'

I even smiled at my employees. I could feel their weird stares. Maybe they are wondering what got into me.

I entered my private lift. The door automatically closes as soon as I settle. I glanced at my wristwatch to see that it's just eight-thirty in the morning.

The doors opened and I made my way towards my office. Gloria waved her hands as she noticed my arrival. A weird grin was plastered on her childish face. My right eyebrow unconsciously lifts itself. "What?"

She just shook her head. "Nothing.." She sang. 'Oh, it's completely the opposite. Something's up with that kind of face.' I was about to walk towards my office when I remembered something. "You still have a debt to pay with your hair." She immediately distanced herself. "Not my hair, bitch." She stuck her tongue out.

I tried to get her stupid hair, but unfortunately, the bell rang. "Time to work, madam." The sarcasm was too evident. I heave a sigh to restrain myself. 'Your image, Hime. You can't just ruin it.'

I turned around and started walking towards my office.

The day went well. I closed the best deals, I can get. After Eating my favorite steak and blueberry cheesecake, I took a peaceful sip of my jasmine tea...

'In short, a day well spent. An ordinary one, but it feels great to be back.'

The vintage clock notified me. The clock strikes at six o'clock. It's time to go home. I fetched my things and secured my office.

I suddenly feel goosebumps. I expected to see a grinning Gloria outside my office. She loves to ride my Phoenix. I'm talking about my helicopter.

Maybe she's already there, on the rooftop.

I entered the lift, again. I'm not scared to be left. Nothing's haunted in the DV empire. The lift chimed indicating I reached the top floor. As the lift's doors opened I immediately saw my heli, on its helipad.

The rotor blades start spinning. 'She didn't wait for me! I'll smack her head real hard.' I slide the door to get inside.

I settled myself and wore headphones. "Gloria, what the fuck? You didn't wait for—" I just realized that Gloria doesn't have broad shoulders like this.

"Oh, hi there!"

'How stupid am I to think he'll just let me go.'

"Why are you here? You're not my pilot!" He didn't say anything. He's busy telling the tower our coordinates.

"Come on, I'm talking to you!" Gladly, he answered after successfully lifting this chopper. "I let your friend rest. You're making her work too much." My eyes immediately rolled on its socket. 'Wow, he's concerned with that kid-face.'

"I'm paying her." I boredly replied. 'Yeah, she's well compensated. Don't even ask about the digits and the other things she has received.' He just scoffed. "Yeah, right." I choose to keep my silence. 'I don't want to talk, especially if it's with him.'

The heli safely landed at DV Hotel. He unbuckled the seat belts and faced me. "What are you looking at?" I just crossed my arms. I didn't say anything. My eyes didn't leave his.

"You don't look like a head guardian." He smirked. "Did you honestly think that I'm too young for the position?" He asked in a serious tone. "No, you looked mature with your signature mask. I even thought you're in your mid-thirties."

'I'm not kidding. His voice was entirely different too.'

"That's what you call prosthetics. I need to keep my identity, you already know why. "

'So, that scar was just made up. And his wrinkled skin too.'

"And the voice? Altered by some voice changing device?" He nodded.

"I don't understand why you are so cold towards me, after knowing my real identity."

"I don't know, you guess."

'He got a point, though. Maybe because I enjoyed his company, knowing he's clueless about what I have been through. But now, it feels awkward. He had seen in my worst.'

"I was just observing you from afar. I even gave you some hints." His forehead creased. "I can risk my life again, just to be this close. Was that too much? Am I creeping you out?"

I don't know what to say. This is the first time someone made me speechless aside from my father and Ojiisan. So I decided to change the topic and ran away from discomfort.

"I need to go now."

' I don't know how to answer those questions too, Knight.'
