"So all along you needed my support?" She found it unbelievable. "I would have done everything for you as long as you said the word. But why did you think you should trap me?" She lost her cool.

"No. Just a scheme you came up with to force me into supporting you."

"No." He took her hand. "I would never force you into anything. I just didn't know how to bring this up."

He saw the doubt in her eyes and wasn't sure how to explain to her. "Do you trust me?"

She nodded with a hint of doubt still in her eyes. If he wanted to take advantage of her, he had many chances to do so in the past. Why would he wait until now when she couldn't be of much help?
