Mother Queen Ivy (1)

The day kept getting worse.

Zephyr had left without saying a word of goodbye. If there wasn't already enough proof of how upset he was, this was it. Marlena had watched his servants carry his trunks to the carriage. She'd waited and hoped he would agree to talk to her before he left. Alas, all he'd done was shoot her a stare she couldn't quite comprehend, then he'd left.

Although she had wanted to break things off with him before he proposed, this was not how she wanted it to be. She didn't want him hurt. He was one of the best men she'd ever met and a part of her believed if she never met Destrian, she might have liked him instead. But she didn't get to choose who to like or how things panned out with the one she liked.

Speaking of the one she liked, she couldn't get over her disbelief when she finally received his letter, just when she thought the worst had already happened.
