Mother Queen Ivy (2)

The butler was dumbstruck. "Apologies, your majesty, but she is indeed a maid." 

Seeing the mother queen's gaze turn colder, Marlena was afraid a head was about to roll. She opened her mouth to speak, but Regina tugged her dress to shut her up. 

"Insolence! Are you insulting my family?" Queen Ivy dismissed him and called her over. "Come with me, Marlena. And you three," she motioned to the maids she had selected, "get my trunks to my chambers." 

Marlena cast a glance at Regina. Was this what her mother had been planning all along? Regina smiled reassuringly at her. 

This had taken such an unexpected turn that Marlena didn't know what to expect. She stayed a few steps behind the mother queen, trying to make herself invisible as they went up the tower. When the woman finally stopped walking, she turned her gaze on Marlena.
