Curse you, Nerwingal!!!

Wish i was like you

blue-eyed blondie,

A part of me really wanted to catch the guard watching the door and knock him down, but it was not a wise decision. It could be crowded with people in the hall to see the ''goddesses''.

So me and Lynch just got dressed and called the guard. As expected, some guards and employees whispered to each other, as we passed.

— Before we try to find a way out, i need the king's stamp on my passport. — I whispered to Lynch.

— Why do you need that? — She whispered back.

— Story for another day. In short, i have to get the real stamps of all the kingdoms because of a silly bet i made last month and because i also want to throw that i made it in my father's face, if i manage to get back there. And if they are still alive, i left with the village in the middle of an attack.

— What? From who?

We turn a corner and come across a circular wooden door. The guard in front of us opened and revealed an elevator with a guardrail. He pushed some buttons and we went down. Nerwingal's palace seemed to grow with each new place i went.

The Nerwingal flag, a green background with a sword and a crescent moon, covered the stage, like a curtain in a theater. Tables with red cloths and chairs, were the targets of hungry waiters, never letting a drink or food run out. Tables with red cloths and chairs were the targets of hungry waiters, never letting a drink or food run out. Everyone was formally dressed and i started to regret wearing only the sweatshirt and pants they stole from the boat explosion.

The door opened and we were escorted to our table. A flower arrangement was on top, along with some drinks prepared in two glasses that if i broke it, i would probably work for my whole life to pay for one of those.

— I've probably said this a lot of times, but this is amazing! — She tilted her head to the side to see me. — I am the first pirate to enter one of the most protected kingdoms of Meluilos Erlee and i still receive the news that i will have to kill a dragon!

— That part of the dragon we still don't know if it's true. — I said. My intuition about people who probably want to kill us is never wrong. But i couldn't tell if it was Nelaser or Edrareth the ''bad plague''. — I think the excuse of ''you are gods'', badly done.

I narrowed my eyes behind Lynch. The Kinbarakz streamer was the main decoration on the table, where some orcs where sitting. That was a very strange sight. First, without being xenophobic, they were wearing suits and one of them even wore reading glasses. And second, they were nothing like the Ida's warriors. Believe me, i've seen pictures of what that guys did.

From Sharbadush to Zão Ying and several other kingdoms, they were sitting representing their proper homes. A sun with an orange background represented the land of Aerileon. The strangest thing was the person who was sitting there. As far as i knew, Viper Brightbringer had a living or dead warrant in almost every kingdom, even in the Darkfield. I only saw her on the posters and in the old photos with the king of Aerileon, River Gray and his daughters, Hera and Isavich.

Suddenly, she turned and started looking at me. She held a vine of dew in her hands and was still wearing her royal clothes, her crown and that same serene countenance on her face. I didn't look away. She seemed to be analyzing me and my head started to hurt.

— I think I have my mind readed, right now… — I commented, narrowing my eyes at Viper.

Lynch's eyes widened, and he turned very slowly in the direction i was looking at. And then it sipped just whatever liquid that was in the bowl the waiter put on our table.

— Oof… I think everyone has problems with the former queen of Aerileon, right? — I said, massaging my head and looking back at Lynch. She stared at the glass, red hair covering part of her face and for the first time, without that playful smile.

— Most of my friends have done favors with the Viper… But only people… Desperate for money, go after her. — She drank a little and continued. — Me, Mary and Meg, have been sailing for a long time to try…

— Wait! Meg? The Meg!? — I whispered, not believing what i just heard. It looks like a fighter name, but Meg Solomon is a legend on the islands of Erlee, along with his crew of pirate cats. — Isn't she in the Tenidotr tower being... Studied?

Suddenly, all the lights went out, which made me and Lynch jump in our chairs, for the simple reason of having an extremely powerful sorceress in the same place as us. In the middle of the darkness i noticed a quick flash of light over both of us. When i raised my head, a snowflake landed on my nose.

— Brassara…?

From the stage in front of us, the red curtains opened and spotlights focused on the figure up there.

Nelaser wore a navy blue suit (which i hated, the moment i saw that rag), his white skin wrapped in gold bracelets that reflected in the light, along with a social outfit of black pants and leather shoes. His long black hair tied in a ponytail.

I've seen and experienced a lot with my years of life (i'm looking like an old woman, but i'm not, okay). What Nelaser was trying to demonstrate was nothing more than power, be it in its most chaotic form. He was clearly a bad person.

— Friends. From. Erlee. — Nelaser started, opening his arms. As a welcome gesture, in such a very dramatic way. — Or should i call you all… Lucky ones?

Those present were staring at him. I felt intrusive in an extremely important meeting.

Two guards, not the same ones that caught me and Lynch in the forest, carried a cage covered with a white cloth to Nelaser's side. With a coordinated movement of the two, they took off the cloth and moved away a few meters.

From inside the cage a, very pissed Heaven was shouting insults at the top of his lungs.
