I'd Like To See You F*cking Try

(Damon's POV)

"Mr. Tipton, your wife is on the line and says it's an emergency." Stacey spoke as she poked her head in. I could tell she was nervous as she was interrupting a meeting I was having.

I glanced over to Remington, my Vice President. "Can you go over the rest? I need to go see what's going on." I spoke as I stood up.

"Of course." Remington nodded.

I walked quickly out of the meeting room. Stacey walked with me as we headed back to the top floor. "I know the two of you talk, did she tell you anything about what this emergency might be?" I asked as I waited for the elevator to stop.

The doors opened and we headed for my office. "No sir. She just said it was really important."

"Very well. Thank you Stacey." I responded as I went inside of my office.

I checked my cellphone as I walked over to my desk. She had called about ten times but it was on silent due to the meeting. I could feel a slight panic build within myself. Whatever this was, it had to have been really important.

I sat down at my desk and picked up the phone. "Love is everything okay?" I asked. The seconds it took her to answer felt like an eternity.

"I just had a customer come in store." In her voice I could tell she was shaken up. "He had the tattoo Damon, and he didn't use a card with his name on it."

I didn't expect this to be the reason for her call. I could feel a slight anger within me. Was the culprit really stupid enough that they would return and go pay my wife a visit? That was unacceptable and if it turned out to be this person only gave me something else to punish them for.

"Did they say or do anything that would give it away?" I asked as calmly as I could. I needed to keep a level head about this.

"No. He just bought a dress for his girlfriend." She answered. "I know it might be ridiculous and I may be overreacting but I thought it would be worth talking to you about."

"It's not ridiculous. Try not to get worked up over this Love." I tried to help calm her down. "I have to finish this meeting but I'm going to review the security footage to see if we can identify him. "In the meantime time I'm going to be sending more security to be around the store and then more security for the children as well until we know if this man's a threat or not."

"Okay." She responded.

"Take some deep breaths." I instructed.

"Okay." I could hear her breathing in and out over the phone.

"Relax and keep yourself busy for now. I'll let you know what I find out." I was confident that this time this had to lead somewhere.

"Promise?" I could still hear a hint of nervousness in her voice. Partly because of the man and partly because the last time I got caught up in this I kept it from her.

"I promise Love." I reassured her.

We got off the phone and I returned to my meeting while Cody pulled the footage from Amethyst. I had to agree with Kaydence on this. It was odd for someone to go use a prepaid gift card, especially in a store like that. There was a reason he didn't have his name attached to the purchase and I intended to find out exactly what it was.

My meeting went on for another twenty minutes after my return. It was hard to focus for that time if I'm being honest. I was slightly relieved when we finally finished. As soon as I felt it was acceptable I walked my way back to my office. Stacey was at her desk doing the work I had given her.

"Clear my schedule for the rest of the day." I instructed before going into my office.

"Yes Mr. Tipton!" She responded as the door shut behind me.

I sat down at my desk and pulled up everything on my computer. I noticed right away I had a new email. There was no subject and the email that had sent it was nothing but numbers. I opened it up and read it to myself.

Mr. Tipton, you may have survived the last encounter we had. But I know for a fact the trail has gone cold and the police have given up. I think it's time I come and finally finish the job. It's time you face the consequences of your actions. See you soon.

I let out a low chuckle to myself. "Finish the job? I'd like to see you fucking try." I spoke to myself.

I knew it was beginning to reach the time where I took my case back on and went all in again. I had hoped that maybe the wedding could happen first, but things come up. This man had returned and made his presence known to both Kaydence and I. However he didn't know that I had a headstart into the matter.

I picked up the phone on my desk and punched in Justin's number. I waited patiently for him to answer. I began to get annoyed when I reached the fifth ring. After that one he picked up and spoke. "Hello?"

"What took you so long to answer?" I questioned.

"I didn't hear my phone." He responded. "Is this another call for me to come to your office so you can threaten my life again?"

"No." I chuckled as he reminded me of the last time he was in my office. "I wouldn't do that twice in a row. That would be boring."

"Very funny." Justin was clearly not amused.

"I was actually calling you because the shooter has made a return." My tone was now serious.

"How do you know?" Justin asked.

"He paid a visit to my wife and decided to send me a threatening email." I explained. "I think it's time I go all in on this and resume our deal."

"Are you sure Damon?" Justin questioned further.

"Yes I'm sure." I reassured him. "This is something I have to do."

"You're better though right? I don't need your wife wanting to kill me for your actions again." Justin responded.

"Yes. I'm sure." My tone held a hint of darkness. "I'm better than ever Justin. If anything, the culprit should be more afraid. Nothing is more terrifying than a man fully aware of his twisted actions that is out for revenge. And this time, I fully intend to spill this person's blood."
