An awkward morning

The morning had dawned clear and cold, with a hint of awkward atmosphere in the house. Elijah broke up with her because her father beat him to a pulp; he was the only one who really listened to her and now he would never go to her again. It was clear to her that the boy was frightened. Sierra wanted to find an excuse to get close to him again, maybe visiting Margaret would give her the perfect one. However, why would she do that? Why would she visit him and make Margaret an excuse? She knew Margaret before Elijah.

"There is no point in complicating things!" she said to her reflection in the mirror. "There is nothing to make it look hard. Do not overthink!" An order for her inner self to stop doing what it usually did: making her overthink everything.
