Chapter 11: This doesn't make sense!

"Wow. I am honestly shocked and impressed by both of your performances," Mr. Li stated. He then turned towards Wei Jinhai, "Especially you. I already knew what Chen Liwei is capable of, but I never expected that I would find another student with almost the exact same strengths and abilities as him. What's more, you even developed a powerful talisman at such a young age."

Wei Jinhai gave a grin and said, "Thank you sir. It was nothing really, I just like to mess around with talismans from time to time."

"Still, it is a great achievement that you were able to develop a successful talisman. Those crafty tricks aren't easy to make," Mr. Li said before turning to speak to the both of them, "There's not really much I can say about your two's technique. Both of your abilities are probably even better than most Heavenly Officials."

He then turned towards Chen Liwei, "The only thing I can say to you, is that I can see that you have been holding back this whole time. You only used your full power today because you were facing a stronger opponent, right? From now on I am expecting you to use your full ability, otherwise we will never know what you are fully capable of and what your limit is."

Mr. Li them turned towards Wei Jinhai again, "And you, I have noticed that you mostly use defence. Your defence methods are not bad, but you must try to attack more, otherwise you will never be able to end the battle. You will end up just trying to hold on until your opponent runs out of spiritual energy, but if they are as strong as Chen Liwei, like you saw what happened earlier, you won't be able to stand a chance."

Wei Jinhai and Chen Liwei just nodded their heads in acknowledgement as they listened to Mr. Li's lecture.

Once Mr. Li was finished with his lecture, he announced, "All right, moving on to the next pair."

The next matches went rather smoothly. None of them were as strong as Wei Jinhai and Chen Liwei, so they all just used normal methods to win. Some were even partnered up with another person that was much weaker than them, so the fights didn't last very long.

Two hours later, after everyone has finished their matches, Mr. Li ended off the class by saying, "All right, that wasn't too bad. It went better than what I expected. You all have quite a lot of spiritual energy and talent, but you still have a lot to learn from, so don't start getting too big for your boots. Today's matches were just the introduction. Now that I know more or less what your levels are, next time I will draw you with someone else with a similar level as you. At the end of each term, you will be given a practical exam where you will be challenging each one of your classmates to determine your ranking. With all that said, that will conclude today's lesson. Enjoy the rest of your day, you may be dismissed."

Everyone said their farewells and started walking back to the main building, where their next lesson would be held.

"Whew, that was exhausting!" Qi Chaoxing exclaimed, "That girl, Yang Meiling, gave me a run for my money!"

"Didn't you win in the end?" Wei Jinhai asked.

"Of course I did! I am Qi Chaoxing after all," she said with a proud smile.

Mo Dingbang rolled his eyes and said, "Don't get too cocky about it. You never know, maybe Karma will bite you and make you lose next time."

Qi Chaoxing pulled a face and said, "Tell Karma, she can kiss my-"

She got cut off by Wei Jinhai quickly changing the subject, "Looks like we're back! We have a few more minutes before our next class starts, right?"

"Yeah, I think so," Qi Chaoxing answered, not finishing her previous sentence.

The three of them wandered through the halls like lost sheep. They looked in every classroom, until they found one that was vacant. "This one looks empty," Wei Jinhai said as he opened the next classroom door.

The three of them went in and took a look around. The walls were almost covered in posters. Wei Jinhai walked up to one of the posters to try and guess which class they were currently in. After he read about four or five posters, Wei Jinhai more or less knew which class they were in.

"I think this is the Angel's Department class," Wei Jinhai said to the other two.

Mo Dingbang pulled a face, while Qi Chaoxing groaned, "What luck is that! Are you sure this is the Angel's Department class?"

"Positive. These posters are about the history of the Heavenly Realm. It says who ruled the Heavenly Realm hundreds of years ago and even has information about the Royal Family," Wei Jinhai responded back.

"Oooh, does it have any juicy gossip about the Royal Family? Maybe some dark secrets?" Qi Chaoxing asked excitedly as she made her way over to the poster and started scanning through it.

"Not really. All it says is what happened during the siege sixteen years ago," Wei Jinhai continued, "Hm? But this doesn't make any sense."

"What doesn't make sense?" Mo Dingbang asked as he walked towards Wei Jinhai.

Wei Jinhai then read the poster aloud, "It says here, that sixteen years ago, the Demon King sent his army into the Heavenly Realm's territory to terrorize and create havoc. Many innocent people were killed, but before the Heavenly Realm's Officials could get there in time, the Demon King's army were already long gone. This was an indication for war. A few months later, the Heavenly Realm finally planned their vengeance. They breached the Demon Realm's barrier and made their way towards the Demon King's Palace. A war then broke out between the two Realms. The war went on for almost a week, causing great destruction to the Demon Realm and also nearly the Heavenly Realm. A few of the towns near the border of the Heavenly Realm almost got demolished and the Demon Realm was nearly devoured in a sea of fire. In the end, the Heavenly Realm snatched victory from the jaws of defeat. The Demon King, Wang Tao, was defeated, but the Heavenly Realm lost more than what they have gained. The Heavenly Realm sorrowfully ended up losing their King and Queen during the long-lasting war."

"See? That doesn't make any sense at all!" Wei Jinhai said with a puzzled look on his face.

"You're right. Why is this saying the Demon Realm attacked first? Weren't we taught that it was the Heavenly Realm who first started the war?" Qi Chaoxing replied, also with a confused look on her face.

"So basically there are two sides to the story. One is true, while the other is not. Both sides are blaming the other, so who was actually the one to blame?" Mo Dingbang stated.
