Chapter 12: Dispute, fists and trouble

The door burst open, revealing a tall, golden haired boy. "Oi, what are you lot doing in here?" the blonde asked in a harsh tone.

"Nothing. We were just waiting in here until our next class starts. No need to be so bitter about it," Wei Jinhai replied back snarkily.

"Watch your attitude! Don't forget your pla-" he got cut off by someone interrupting from behind.

"Leave it Jin Fu. We could just ask them to leave, it's not their class anyway, there's no need to start another brawl," another taller boy, with pale blue eyes, walked into the classroom and stared at the four of them.

"Hmph, still defending him I see, Chen Liwei," Jin Fu scowled, "If I didn't know any better, I would have definitely suspected you liked him or something."

"Ridiculous. How come you always harbour such indecent thoughts," Chen Liwei replied with a frown.

"You make it hard not to," Jin Fu mumbled. Chen Liwei still managed to hear it though, but chose to ignore it.

"Anyways, what are you guys doing here?" Chen Liwei asked the three of them.

"Don't get us wrong, we weren't doing anything bad. We saw this classroom was empty, so we decided to hang in here until our next class," Qi Chaoxing answered back.

Chen Liwei nodded his head in response then said, "No worries. However, we do have a class now so you guys are going to have to leave." He then spared a glance towards the poster next to Wei Jinhai.

Chen Liwei didn't say anything, but Wei Jinhai noticed his line of sight. "Don't worry we'll leave now, but first, you wouldn't mind explaining to us what is meant by that poster, right?"

Chen Liwei shifted his gaze towards Wei Jinhai, "What else is there to explain? You don't look slow-witted, so you should be able to understand if you read it."

Wei Jinhai ignored his small comment and firmly stated, "We did read it, but it doesn't add up at all. This poster is stating that the Demon Realm attacked first, whereas we were taught that the Heavenly Realm barged into the Demon Realm and started to attack for no apparent reason."

Chen Liwei raised his brow while Jin Fu pointed at them rather fiercely, "You! What kind of bald-faced lies are you spouting! Is this the kind of crap the Demon Realm has been teaching all this time? Huh! I'm not even surprised at this point. You Demons always go around making trouble for other people then completely shift the blame on the other party afterwards. Despicable, if you ask me."

Chen Liwei lightly coughed and said, "He has a point in the first part, but don't be bothered by the rest of his words. From what you have claimed earlier, there is absolutely no way that could be true. Firstly, it has been recorded in History, they surely couldn't have lied in an official report, and also if you ask any official who was there, they would tell you the exact same thing. Why would they lie about this?"

Qi Chaoxing said sarcastically, "Gee, I don't know, maybe to cover up their wrongdoings and save their own face and pride."

Jin Fu looked like he was about to burst with fury, "You insolent wench! How dare you disrespect us like that, do you have a death wish!"

Qi Chaoxing's face darkened horrendously, "What did you just call me? Hah! I guess you're the one with the death wish here."

Jin Fu walked closer to Qi Chaoxing with a daunting expression, "Do you really want to start a fight with me? Just so you know, I won't go easy on you. I couldn't care less if you were a girl or a man."

Qi Chaoxing also took a few steps forward. Their noses were an inch away from touching. She glared at him and said, "Hah! You really are a conceited scumbag. You must remember to savour this moment, this will probably be your first time getting beat by a girl, but sadly not the last."

Jin Fu smirked and said, "You really are all bark no bite. We'll see who the sore loser will be."

They both broke apart and held up their fists. They really were planning to fight!

Wei Jinhai quickly interrupted, "Hold on now! Are you both seriously planning on starting a brawl right now? We all have detention already, do you seriously want to get expelled during your first week of school?"

Mo Dingbang added, "Yeah, there really is no need to act rashly about it, Qi Chaoxing."

Chen Liwei also said, "It was just a slight disagreement. Do you really have to get aggressive about it?"

Jin Fu huffed, "Huh, what do you mean "don't get aggressive about it", she was practically insulting us! She was basically saying the Heavenly Officials covered everything up just to save their face and pride. I'm not like you. I won't just stand here and listen to them blame and ridicule us!"

Jin Fu then lunged forward. Qi Chaoxing dodged his attempted blow and kicked him behind the knees, causing him to fall onto the ground. He groaned then attempted to get back on his feet, but Qi Chaoxing already threw a punch towards him. He quickly rolled over just in time, letting Qi Chaoxing's fist come in contact with the floor. The strike was so hard, even the other three that was watching could feel the vibrations.

The desks and chairs inside the classroom were rattling with every blow that was exchanged. Wei Jinhai desperately prayed that no one else could feel the vibrations, because if a teacher were to find out about this, they would surely be dead or expelled this time.

So far, Jin Fu only suffered a black eye and Qi Chaoxing only had a bloody nose. Wei Jinhai desperately tried to pry the two apart, but no matter how much he tried, the two of them kept flinging their fists at each other. It was only when one of the two, he wasn't even sure who, accidentally punched him in the face that he decided to not intervene anymore.

Mo Dingbang glanced at Wei Jinhai's injured eye, which was already starting to turn purple, and said, "That's why you don't interfere with these kinds of things. You can only tell them to stop in the beginning, but once they start getting into it, there is no use trying to stop them."

"Mhm," Wei Jinhai hummed in response. All his attention was on the two people in front of him, he didn't pay any attention to what Mo Dingbang just said.

Just as Jin Fu raised his fist to throw another punch, the door opened with a loud bang.

"WHAT IN THE WORLD IS GOING ON IN HERE?" the Angel's Department teacher, Mr. Bai, said as he walked into the room. "Put your fists down right this instant!" he yelled sternly.

Jin Fu and Qi Chaoxing did as they were told and quickly put their hands behind their backs. Mr. Bai walked in front and glared at every single one of them, "Do you five realise what you were doing just now?"

No one responded.

Mr. Bai scowled and said, "You two," he said directly to Jin Fu and Qi Chaoxing, "were having a fist fight with each other and broke the "no violence" rule, and from what I've heard, this is both of your second attempts already." He then glared at the other three, "Don't even think you three will be left off. You guys clearly saw these two were fighting and breaking the rules, but didn't stop them. All of you will be getting detention for a whole week."

Jin Fu protested, "But sir-"

Mr. Bai said sharply, "No buts! Out of everyone here, you have the least right to object. Really now. Last year you were involved in a few instances as well, but they were only minor incidents so we let it slide. This year however, you got yourself involved in two fights in one day!" Mr. Bai gave him a look of deep disappointment. "If you keep on like this, we might have no other choice but to expel you."

Jin Fu's face paled in horror. Mr. Bai sighed, "Trust me, you are one of my best students, I really don't want to expel you for this kind of reason. That's why I really hope you can get your act together so that we wouldn't have to resort to that kind of punishment."

Jin Fu looked down and nodded his head in response, the look of dread still visibly displayed on his face.

Mr. Bai glanced at each one of their faces before turning to Wei Jinhai, Qi Chaoxing and Jin Fu, "You three, make sure you get to the infirmary before your next class. We wouldn't want your wounds to get infected." He then turned around and walked out, supposedly to the Headmaster's office to report what just happened.

The five of them also walked out the classroom and began to make their way to the infirmary in dead silence.
