Great, awesome, like everything in Amber's life her grades were also slipping backwards. Normally her Math teacher would chastise her or correct her mistakes but this time, he dropped her paper and left her table without a word.

It was surprising how her life could change in a few months. After letting her secret loose to her friend, Macey. Nothing was ever the same; Macey had told her popular friends who in turn spread it round the whole school. All her friends had turned away from her. No one would talk to her. Somehow, her parents found out.

Even though, they tried to be supportive and pretend nothing was wrong, Amber could see the difference, they were no longer the happy family they once were. For the first time in her life, she felt terrible alone.

The closing bell went off. Amber packed her books and joined the others in leaving the class.

She made her way to her locker and her heart plummeted.

Written clearly on her locker were the words. *Willer scum.* She could feel a hundred eyed staring at her. She fought back tears that threatened to spill. She opened her locker and replaced her books.

She half walked half ran away from the school and entered her car. She drove away in a hurry. Once she was safe from prying eyes. She let the dam of tears pour. She sobbed as weeks of pent up frustration and despair swelled up. She blinked up severally to clear her eyes from blurring her view of the road.

After she calmed down, she realized her car stereo was playing her favorite tune. The sound which used to levitate her moods only brought up anger. She shouted and put her fist through the stereo. She watched in amazement as it crackled and spluttered before it went dead. She looked at her hand with her mouth open.

She had her powers for months now but she had been too afraid to see what she had been too afraid to see what she could do. She looked at the stereo again and shivered of what it could look like on a human. Maybe she was exactly the monster everyone thinks she had become.

She pulled over in front of her house. Her parents were not at home like usual. They were both lawyers who didn't arrive home until late. She got out of the car to find an attractive dark haired woman on their front door.

"Hi. I--"

"My parents are not around." Amber cut her off. "If you are a client, I suggest you meet them at the office."

"Actually, I am here to see you. You are Amber Pierce, aren't you?"

Amber took a second before nodding feebly.

The woman took a step forward and prompted Amber to step backward. There was something about the woman's face that was oddly familiar. The woman took another step forward and for a second, Amber noticed she wasn't looking at her but behind her.

A strange chill ran up Amber's spine and itched at the back of her neck. Based on pure instinct, she jerked to her right and rolled over in time to see a dark skinned giant reach for her throat. Recognition hit her like a truck as she realized who these people really were.

The woman smiled thinly at her before reaching into her jacket to reveal a knife.

Amber did the first thing that came to her mind. She ran. She could hear her assailants giving chase. Amber increased her speed and felt electricity coursing through her veins. Before she knew it, she was going faster than she ever did. She started racing past cars at full speed. She looked back at her chasers but they were nowhere to be found. She had left them in the dust.

She knew she should stop and gather her thoughts but she couldn't. She loved the exhilarating feeling that was running through her. She had not felt this good in months. A small smile crept on her face as she ran faster.

Suddenly, a golden circle of light appeared in front of her and a man stepped through. Amber tried to stop but she was going too fast. She ran into the man who caught her, spun her and stabbed her in the neck with a big syringe. She slumped into the man's frame as darkness enveloped her, she was unconscious in seconds.
