Chapter 29

[Temporary Skill – Solid Refraction: A manipulation of light and dark to creates a translucent or camouflaged surrounding. This manipulation will be created as a solid object which will feel as real as the object that it is camouflaged as. Solid refraction cannot be moved it is a stationary skill.]

After checking his stats Koa had made his way back to the city gate. Upon arrival at the gate the guards stopped Koa to make sure that he was going to endanger people.

The City gate of Tavis

"Can you explain how you got like this?" a guard that stopped Koa.

"Uh. I had a run in with some wildlife and managed to kill them before they killed me. After that I made my way back to the gate." Koa

This guard looked at Koa like he was hiding something.

'This kid is covered in blood and his cloths are tattered so how can he have so little wounds.' Thought the Guard.

"How are you not as wounded as you should be?" Guard.

"What do you mean by that?" Koa

"Well, comparing you to your cloths there seems to be some differences. Your cloths are ruined but you only seem to have some minor cuts. Can you explain that?" Guard.

"Yes. After I finished fighting with the creature I went to a nearby river and cleaned my wounds, then rubbed some Helget gel on my wounds which helped keep them closed." Koa

"Helget gel? What is that?" Guard.

"I don't know myself I was given a small amount by an alchemist on my way to the city some time ago. He said that its still experimental so there could be know effects when used, but as you can see it was pretty affective." Koa

The Guard stared at Koa for a few second before finally making up his mind. In the end Koa let into the city, first thing that Koa had decided on doing was returning to the Adventurer's Building and turning in the quest.

Koa walked into the nearly abandoned Adventurer's build since it is still early, so people weren't up yet. When he was walking towards the desk he saw Lily still at the desk waiting for people.

"Hello Lily. I have returned to turn in the Helget Flower Quest." Koa

"Oh you came back so…" Lily

Lily stopped what was saying after she looked up at Koa. Koa was covered in blood and cuts. His clothes were almost non-wearable.

"What happened to you? Do you need to go to the healers?" Lily

"I am alright. Don't need the healers; I'm just here to turn in the quest." Koa

As Koa finished talking he placed the Helget Flowers on the table, so Lily could verify the flowers.

"Here to turn in a quest. The Helget Flowers I THOUGHT I TOLD YOU NOT TO GO OUT AT NIGHT!!" Lily said with an angry tone.

"Ah. Yeah I think you did say that." Koa said as he scratched the back of his head.

"So, why didn't you listen to me!?" Lily

"I was just so excited to get the quest I wanted to do in now." Koa said in an unconvincing tone.

"Excited!? Tch fine. I just going to get more frustrated talking to you." Lily

"Alright all of the Helget Flowers have been collected and all are of the quality that is required. Can you pick give me your Adventurer card." Lily

Koa handed her the card without uttering a word.

"Alright your mission is completed and has been recorded your adventure card. The amount given is two silvers and fifty copper. To your next promotion you need to complete nineteen more F Rank quests and ten E Ranks. Would you like to pick another quest today?" Lily said the last sentence in a somewhat threating tone.

Koa took this hint.

"No, I think I will rest for now and come later to see the quests." Koa

"Well then that's good. He a nice rest of your day." Lily said while smiling and closing her eyes.

"Yeah see you next time." Koa

After leaving the Adventurers Building he headed towards the Inn that he reserved previously. The building was called the Butterfly's lullaby.

Koa went to the dining area of the Inn and sat down. So, one of the people working had came to take Koa's order.

"Hello do you know what you want to eat or do you need to see the menu?" a Gentle girl asked.

"I will take to cheapest option." Koa

"Very well that will be twenty copper pieces." The girl said.

Koa placed a total of thirty pieces on the table for the girl to collect. After she collected she left to give the order to the chief.

A couple of minutes have passed when the girl returned with a plate of food.

"Here you are the Dried beef with steamed pea pods." The girl.

"Thank you. For two silvers how many days can I have at the Inn?" Koa

"Oh uh. I think that is a total of two weeks, but that also depend on if you damage any thing while you are here." The girl

"I see okay here are two silver to reserve my room for two weeks." Koa

"Thank you." The girl replied as she walked away to give the two silvers to the Inn keeper.

After eating in the forest for so long and eating raw meat. Being able to eat freshly cooked food was nice, but Koa felt as if he was missing something. As he was eating he was trying to figure out what was causing him to feel like it is almost a waste of a meal, because he wasn't gaining anything just filling his stomach.

The girl returned when Koa finished his meal. Koa thanked her and turned and left towards his room. As he was returning to his room he finally figured out what he felt that he was missing. It was the stats points that he has always be receiving from eating the creatures in the forest. It was the sensed of getting an increase that he had been missing from it.

Back at the City Gate

"Going out again Jacky?" one of the guards in the barracks asked.
