Chapter 30

"Uh. Yeah it what I do every morning. If I don't go then the bodies of those poor adventurers or civilians will just rot there; waiting to be found by adventurers or end up in bellies of beasts." Jacky

"Ah. Jacky your so determined, but it would probably be better if the adventurers found and brought back the news of the bodies being found." One of the older Guards replied.

"At that rate the bodies will be in the bodies of the creatures of the woods." Jacky

"Well, the beasts are apart of nature as well. Allowing them to help feed nature is a good thing." Another Guard that had a larger stomach said.

Jacky did not reply anymore he just left the barracks to continue to search for the people. But after that comment made by the fat Guard said, Jacky's eyes had turned cold. Jacky felt that the Guards were afraid to leave the city because of the beasts so, they would just try to find any excuse to lighten their loads. He felt disgusted but there wasn't much he could do. Only by convincing the Guards or reporting to the City Lord would he get any response but now a days the City Lord was busy will the new dungeons.

Jacky continued out of the city for his normal morning routine. His first location is the Helget Field, and after that he would spread out his search area a bit until just before noon to return to the city. Jacky had arrived at the Helget fields but wasn't looking around, yet he was just thinking about his pervious party members, but a terrible smell causes him to break from his memories. When he looked up towards the smell he wasn't ready for the sight he saw. It wasn't bodies of adventurers or passersby; instead, it was a massive heap of Shade Jackel corpses. There was blood, flesh, and bones all around the pile of Jackels. He was afraid by the amount of Jackels before him, but he slowly starts to smile and laugh like a mad man. The tears that Jacky had held back for years slowly started to trickle out as he was smiling.

"I may have not been able to avenge my party members, but at least the fucking creatures are dead." Jacky said with a smile.

'I need to ask who did this and thank him.' These were the thoughts of Jacky as he got to his feet and started to head back to the city, not even stopping to look for the bodies of the adventurers or others.

Gate of Travis City

Jacky just returned he didn't even stop to breath as he continued passed to Guards and headed deeper into the city.

"Wasn't that Jacky. Why is he back so soon?" The old Guard asked from earlier in the morning.

"If he was back earlier wouldn't he just get ready to guard the gate not storm into the city?" A Younger Guard said.

"Don't know I guess we will ask him when he returns to the barracks or gets on duty." Old Guard said.

Travis City's Adventurer's Building

Jacky just stormed through the front door not even looking around and headed straight for the front desk.

"Excuse me." Jacky said in a hurried tone.

The front desk receptionist was busy sorting through the stack of papers on the desk that were completed quests pile and new issued quests. The receptionist didn't even look up, this was because many adventurers would complain about have to do so many quests to rank up. Since the receptionist was undisturbed as this was a normal occurrence in the morning.

Another receptionist for receive quests was not busy so she headed towards Jacky in a calm manner.

"I can help you if you would like." Said the female receptionist.

"Yes! Ah. Did anyone take and complete the Shade Jackel take down quest." Jacky said with a serious look.

"Give me just a minute and I will look through the files." The receptionist said.

The Receptionist left; Jacky was just waiting by the desk as he wanted to find and meet the person or people that had slaughtered the Jackels. As he was waiting he could hear a few whispers of the people in the building.

"Is that guard serious; who in their right mind would take on the Shade Jackel quest? Is he insane" a adventurer with a long black beard said.

"Well, there are crazy people looking for a challenge, but the only people that I heard that take on that quest are in guilds not solo or small groups." A younger adventurer said.

"He must be new if he thought that the people that came to the adventurer's building would take a quest like that." Another adventurer said.

Jacky started to grit his teeth a bit because of their comments, but just held it in as he was here for a more important reason. As the comments and mocks of the adventurers almost reach to a peak of annoyance the female receptionist returned. She had come back with a file in her hands that had a blue seal on it.

"Here we are this was the most recent completion of the quest and the acceptance of the quest." She said as she opened the file.

Jacky was waiting patiently as he would have a chance to thank the people that avenge his party.

"Okay so the last known information was a completion of the quest. It was completed the Sun Loin Head Guild; it was completed two weeks ago. With three dead individuals, multiple injured and lead by Venes. The total right paws collected was seventeen." The receptionist said.

"Wait so no one else had accepted the quest?" Jacky asked with a confused look.

"Correct this group was the last to accept and complete the quest." The receptionist responded.

"NO! That can't be I just came from the Helget Fields there was a mound of Shade Jackel corpses. Can It be that I just wasn't recorded?" Jacky said with a panicked tone.
