chapter IV- A New Place of Nightmares

Silence filled the space between Akuma and Sada as they had been walking through the forest for hours. The sun was setting in front of them and the pair stayed five feet apart from each other ('Cause they're not gay). Akuma and Sada had come to an abrupt pause when the track they had been pursuing had stopped leading them converted into a cliff, if they were to go directly down, it would be a twenty-foot drop that would lead to a slope of rock and dirt that added an extra twenty feet, they were only inches away from falling to what could be death for any human. But as they looked forward onto the horizon, there was a small town with a hill that overlooked the town, sitting on top of the hill was a Church; the Church seemed almost four stories tall. To the right of the town off towards the distance was a cave almost as tall as the hill that overlooked the town, but the cave seemed a bit odd with a bit of light illuminating from the cave.

"Do you think that's Kineallen?"Akuma asked curiously while he dug inside his right pocket, fishing out his weapon, waiting for Sada to answer while he pulled the pin out, expanding the weapon to its full size, the bottom of the bow staff had dug itself into the dirt while expanding and Akuma pressed the button at the top of the bow staff, unveiling the curving dual blades. Akuma had his right hand tightly gripped onto the staff of the weapon while keeping the pin in his left hand.

"Yes, more than likely. There wasn't any other town on the way," Sada said with a bit of curiosity behind her voice as she looked to Akuma, confused at what he may be doing.

"So, how should we get down there, and where did you get the weapon?"Sada asked, looking to the dual bladed scythe, but when she was about to answer one of her questions with a suggestion that would seem the safest, Akuma had wrapped his left arm around Sada's waist and brought their bodies together.

"I stole it from my boss, and we go straight down," Akuma said as he lunged forward with Sada, as Sada's legs swung up behind her. Sada was a bit startled that Akuma would take this option, as the pair were falling fast Sada moved her face into Akuma's chest. Akuma brought the upper blade of the dual bladed scythe to the cliff, digging it in and placing his feet on the top of the blade below him, but they weren't slowing down quickly enough. Meanwhile, Sada had tightly wrapped her arms around Akuma's chest, and her legs stood on the blade. they were rapidly falling down the cliff, coming up on the slope Akuma placed his right foot on the wall, pushing them away from the cliff, Akuma brung his right hand back to the top of the scythe and used his right thumb to press the button of the dual bladed scythe, turning it back to the small cylinder contraption, he placed the pin back into the bottom of the cylinder, and placed it back into his right pocket, and used his right hand to bring Sada's legs up to his chest with his left hand holding Sada by her back, bridal style. Akumas left foot had hit the ground first with a bend in his leg as his right foot was brought down to the front while they began sliding faster and faster down the cliff, Akuma had slid from right to left, avoiding the sharp and large pieces of rock that would kill them if he hit them dead on. The smell of burning rubber began to arise as Akumas soles had begun to become shorter and shorter, Akuma had jumped into the air, and when he landed Akuma had dug his heels into the ground as they slowly stopped and Akumas legs were halfway into the ground and his soles were almost gone. Sada had separated herself from Akuma's arms and stood tall. Sada watched Akuma get out from the hole he created and Akuma began to walk again, with Sada quickly joining his side still staying five feet apart.

"Do you know anything about this town?" Akuma asked curiously, breaking the silence that was beginning to engulf their atmosphere again

"Nothing that would help us find out who Tsubasa was speaking about," Sada said, keeping her eyes pointed away from Akuma while she spoke.

"Well whoever they are, I'm excited. Hopefully, they'll give me a good fight," Akuma said, placing his hands inside his front jean pockets while they walked, showing off a smirk. Yet, the only thing on Akuma's mind was how he would fight whoever this opponent was.

"What about the people you would be saving, do you care about them?" Sada asked, wondering if Akuma cared about people, or maybe Akuma wasn't the person She seemed to remember anymore.

"Why would I? They're not my problem to deal with, I don't plan on killing them, but if they try to get in my way, I'll kick their asses as well, I'm not the hero in this story, I'm just the guy who fights" Akuma spoke, his smirk quickly leaving his face as he averted his eyes to the ground. Sada's eyes glanced to the ground as well as she began walking faster, trying to pace herself further away from Akuma

"Don't you dare hurt anyone besides the person we're looking for, if you do, I'll leave you, and go to Yano, besides, you are the hero that's supposed to save this world from Yano" Sada said looking back at him and their eyes looking at each other, Sada had an angry look on her face and that she would do it? but, Akumas just seemed like he was tired, and Akuma didn't know how to respond, but he did.

"Fine, I won't hurt anyone that isn't our enemy. but don't lie to yourself, I nothing like a hero, I'm more of the middle man," Akuma said rolling his eyes a bit annoyed that she would try to threaten him about joining the man Akuma was supposed to kill.

"But why won't you tell me anything more than Yano? I barely know anything about him, and why do you and Tsubasa think I'm some kind of god slash hero?" Akuma spoke, confusion now went through his head of who Yano truly was, he barely even knew as much about Yano as he did about himself, basically nothing.

"Because then I would be breaking a promise to someone important. Plus, the reason we think you are one is that you have the power of a god, but for some reason every time you've fought Yano after your first defeat you can't access all of your abilities, but I couldn't find any kind of signs on your body that would give you a limit to how far you can go with your abilities, have your basic specialties come into effect yet, like increase in senses, speed, strength. anything like that?" Sada spoke as she began to get quieter towards the end of her sentence as she began quietly mumbling to herself.

"Not that I know of," Akuma spoke as whatever else Sada was mumbling about was too hard to hear or understand. The rest of the walk to Kineallen was filled with Sada's mumbling and a mixture of Akuma's silence and his stomach growling. It took two more hours until they had finally made it to the town, the town had a white-colored metal street lamp at every corner. The grainy pavement was light grey. Every building was one story and compressed, their lights were completely off, made from a mixture of wooden walls with a brick tile roof, every door had a cross in the middle with the words 'In almighty Y we trust.' circled the cross. But on the opposite side of the town from where Akuma and Sada were there stood a church that was most likely three stories big that sat on top of a hill that watched over the town, but something was odd about this town, there was no one walking the streets, and no cars anywhere in the town, all the houses had no lights and their blinds were closed.

"I thought we were going to track someone down, did that old-timer just send us to a ghost town, and why aren't any of the food places open?"Akuma asked a little frustrated while he and Sada had walked around, Sada trying to find one soul nearby, but there was no one, and Akuma trying to find somewhere to eat.

"Maybe there's someone at the church, and what are you worried about with food," Sada said as they could see it from where they stood with ease, it was so tall that no matter where in the town you were you could see it, and seemed there was light coming from every window on the right side.

"Hopefully they have something to eat" Akuma spoke while his stomach grumbled out. They made their way to the church, when they arrive at the church, it was massive, when they looked up to they couldn't see where the church ended, the walls were white with a massive piece of stained glass that seemed to tell of someone falling from the clouds, as they fell into what couldn't be seen at the bottom of the glass, but anyone would assume it was hell. Akuma and Sada stood in front of the twelve feet oak wood door with white steel door handles, Sada knocked on the door but looked towards Akuma as if he wasn't supposed to be standing there with her, when Akuma looked down at her seeing the strange look she was giving him Akuma asked

"What's wrong, you're looking at me as if I'm not supposed to be alive" Akuma spoke with curiosity in his tone considering this was the first time she looked at him like that, normally it was the cold stare

"Well you shouldn't be this close to a church, normally your kind can't set foot anywhere near close to places like these," Sada spoke while keeping her eyes on Akuma.

His eyes grew wide in curiosity at her comment.

"And what exactly do you mean by Your kind?" Akuma asked confused about what Sada meant by her choice of words, but before she could speak Akuma averted his attention to the door.

"Do you hear footsteps coming closer?"Akuma asked, but before she could say anything, the door to their left opened to a small tan-skinned girl who was hiding her left side from the neck below behind the door, she was wearing a white nightgown that went down to her feet, the nightgown even dragged behind her a little, the nightgown had numerous colored flowers scattered around the nightgown. the girl stood at three-foot seven, with brown hair that went down to her waistline, the girl had silver-colored eyes and she was looking upwards to Sada and Akuma with curiosity in her eyes, and stayed silent while Sada had squatted down and flashed a small smile and asked the girl a question.

"Hello there, is there an adult anywhere in there?" Sada had asked with a cheerful and smooth tone, almost as if she was happy to see the girl which made the girl come out from hiding behind the door, Akuma was a bit astonished to see Sada acting anything more than emotionless. The small girl had nodded her head and spoke with a high-pitched tone that carried purity and innocence to it.

"Yes, but he isn't here right now" the girl spoke but as soon as Sada was about to speak again a male that stood at six foot three had appeared behind the girl, he had amber eyes and a shaved head of grey hair that transitioned into a full beard that covered the front of his neck and ended near to the middle of his chest. He wore the standard priest wear, from the black robe to the black belt, he had in his left hand a bible with the words 'The world of Y' embedded into the front of the bible and around his neck was a crucifix, with a stern look upon his face. Akuma had covered his nose, using his index and thumb to press down as hard as he could, stopping him from breathing out of his nose, and looked as if he had smelled something worse than your mom's pussy. And he stepped a few steps back from the church.

"Is your friend okay?" The priest had asked, he had a scratchy, and deep voice, Sada had looked behind her seeing as Akuma had covered his nose, and Akuma had kept his body directed towards the opposite direction of the church, with his head touching, almost digging into the ground. Akuma had moved his hands towards his ears, something was wrong, but Sada knew something about what was going on with Akuma.

"Yeah, he's fine, he's just been feeling weird ever since we left his town, I think he's just sick or starving," Sada spoke, standing back up while looking to the priest beginning to ask questions since she wanted to see if they knew who the enemy could be, but that wasn't her first question.

"We were walking through town and couldn't find anyone, is it a ghost town?" Sada asked curiously while the priest bent down a little to pat the girl on the back, whispering something in her ear that made her leave their presence. The priest had stepped out of the church, closing the door behind him.

"No, we have a curfew, it all started a few years ago when whatever hides in the cave started to kidnapped almost two of our people every week, but that hasn't happened this week, but we don't know why the creature that lives in the cave steals our people," The priest said looking down a little, with a bit of a more sorrow tone and a gruesome look on his face as if he had seen the monster and never wanted to reminisce on that memory. The male had brought up his right hand to point towards his left where the cave was located.

"Do you think that's who we're looking for Sada? If so let's go," Akuma asked, still covering his ears while he was almost fifteen feet away from the church hoping that whoever the priest spoke of would be their enemy, that way Akuma could have an excuse to get away from whatever wretched smell was.

"Maybe, but come on, we'll go check it out in the morning" Sada spoke while she turned her back to the church walking towards Akuma, grabbing him by the collar of his trenchcoat, dragging him away from the church as the priest had spoken out watching them leave.

"I'll be praying for your safe return, may Y watch over you two," The priest spoke while he walked back into the church.

"Who the hell is that?" Akuma asked while he was being dragged off away but Sada didn't answer him because she didn't know what the priest meant as well. Once they had reached the bottom of the hill, arriving back into the edge of the town, Sada had tossed Akuma's body forward to the ground. Akuma had rolled forward and jumped up to get back on his feet. He tried sniffing around him to see if that stench was still there, but he received nothing of the sort.

"It's gone," Akuma spoke, unable to smell that revolting smell again as Sada had looked towards him with her arms crossed, with her breast laying on top of her arms as she seemed a bit confused as to what Akuma was talking about.

"What's gone?" Sada asked with confusion in her tone, waiting for Akuma to stop messing around.

"The smell, while we were at the church and that priest appeared I smelt something so repulsive, and acrid. It was overpowering my nose, I could barely breathe up close, but I had a bit of breathability where I was while you two talked, but I also smelt a bit of something metallic off from his breath, but whatever is inside the church, and on him makes me want to puke," Akuma spoke, dusting himself off as he looked towards the cave.

"So, should we go to the cave now, or wait until morning?" Akuma asked waiting for Sada's answer, but for him, he wanted to do it now, Akumas heart was pounding in excitement, and nervousness about fighting whoever Tsubasa had warned him about. However, Sada had the opposite answer to Akuma's

"Well, we need to find somewhere to rest for tonight, but once we're both well and rested we'll go attack, the only good thing about today since we left Tsubasa's is your senses have begun coming back," Sada said with a bit of a sigh, beginning to walk in the opposite direction of the cave, walking back towards the woods.

"Why are you going to the woods?" Akuma asked curiously, turning around to begin following her, close behind.

"Well Akuma, we won't be able to sleep anywhere inside, better to sleep in the trees, than on the ground" Sada spoke as they were out of the city, and there were no more words shared until they had reached the forest, with Sada beginning to climb on of the trees that were on the edge of the forest, and Akuma had sat down in front of the tree Sada was climbing

"I'll see you in the morning" Akuma spoke while he leaned his back to the tree, having his right leg bent upwards where her knee met his shoulder, and Akuma laid his right arm on top, using his right arm as a pillow for his head while he closed his eyes, still hearing nothing from Sada as Akuma drifted to sleep, hoping for the morning to come fast so he could fight.
