Time skip of 1-2 months

Jakes POV

I checked the time before gently shaking y/n awake. She slowly opened her eyes with a groan, this pregnancy was really exhausting her.

The morning sickness had calmed down, and wasn't as frequent but other symptoms had taken a toll on y/n.

We both agreed it was a bittersweet experience but it would all be worth it in the end.

"what time is it...." she said sleepily

"11:30, our doctors appointment is at 1"

"Um yeah I think I know that" she said frustrated

I knew the mood swings were one of the stronger symptoms so I just took her comments with a pinch of salt.

She sighed, "I'm sorry Jakey I just don't feel too good"

I gently kissed her, letting her know it was ok, before bringing helping her up out of bed.

There was a little bump now, small but noticeable and I felt so much joy whenever I saw it.

I could tell y/n did too as sometimes she just stood for long periods of time looking at it in the mirror. She usually wouldn't stop until I made her sit, as to not exhaust herself even more.

The squad all found out pretty soon and everyone was over the moon, especially Charles.

I called an Uber on my phone while y/n got ready and we were soon heading off to the hospital.

I could tell y/n was really nervous, but I squeezed her hand, trying my best to give her some confidence that it would go well.

Y/ns POV

I was so nervous. We had done everything right so far but there was still a chance of miscarriage down the road and I needed to know my baby was happy. Today was also the first time we would hear the heartbeat which excited me.

Jake was being so sweet, making sure he was holding my hand the whole way to the hospital and all through the walk into the waiting room.

After waiting for afew minutes my name was called and we both took a deep breath before heading to the room.

A sweet doctor greeted us and she helped me get comfortable in the chair before explaining the ultrasound.

She took out the scanner and placed it on my belly, it was really cold but I didn't feel uncomfortable. I felt Jake tense up beside me and I took his hand in mine, rubbing my thumb on his. I felt his grip tighten and looked up to the screen.

My heart burst as I saw our baby on the screen. Jakes face was pure joy.

"Would you like to hear the heartbeat?" The doctor asked

I nodded

She tapped a button and suddenly a steady beat filled the room. I turned to Jake grinning and his eyes were full of tears as he beamed back at me.

I felt like the luckiest person in the world.

We left the hospital without speaking just laughing with pure joy every time we looked at each other.

The drive home was painfully long but eventually we made it back to our apartment. As soon as we got inside, Jake pulled my waist close to him and kissed me.

I felt so close to him as his hands ran down my body while my fingers combed through his hair.

Eventually we pulled away and stood with our foreheads connected while we both smiled.

Jakes POV

I really couldn't believe I had been so lucky as I kissed my beautiful fiancé.

We stood together for a while before I picked her up, her letting out a small squeal and carefully helped her get comfortable in our bed.

When she was comfortable on her back, I lay next to her, my head in line with her stomach, and my arm draped over her waist. She stroked my hair slowly as we lay together, filled with excitement and relief.

After an hour, we slowly got up and went out to Central Park.

The sun was shining and we settled down on the grass together, eating the bagels we had bought on the way, and joking around.

I felt like the happiest man in the world.
