A Talk With Charlotte

Since Madara already knew what the mission was, he went back to the hideout. He could care less for what the others were doing, but he and Vanessa both drank wine.

He could tell Noelle was frustrated and jealous that he was spending time with Vanessa and not her. That's when she decided to make a bold move.

"I want to drink with you guys!" Noelle said, in an authoritative tone. Vanessa and Madara looked at each other and laughed.

Vanessa handed Noelle the bottle and she looked at it cautiously. She put the bottle to her lips and let the liquid pour into her mouth. Immediately after, she spits out the wine and starts coughing vigorously.

"Looks like someone isn't a drinker," Vanessa said, looking at Noelle coughing from tasting the wine. To her, it tasted disgusting because she had never had anything like it before.

Twenty minutes later, Yami and Asta come back saying they are going to the beach. Everyone gets excited about it, including Madara. Even if he wouldn't show it, he was happy because he hadn't seen a beach since he came to this world.

Since there was too much noise, Yami destroyed the wall behind him. This got everyone's attention and made them sit down to listen to him. Of course, Madara was the only one standing because he could hear him fine.

"This isn't a vacation. We are going on a mission." Yami said, with a cigarette in his mouth looking at his squad.

Everyone silently agreed and went on with their life. Since Madara didn't have any beach attire, he decided to buy some new clothes.

While shopping, he bought black shorts, ten different shirts, ten different pairs of pants, new shoes, and some other things. Of course, he tried them all on and he looked good in whatever he picked out.

Once he bought all of this stuff, he put all the stuff in his room, using spatial magic. Even though he spent a lot, the amount Julius gave him was about four months' worth of pay.

He then remembered something. Remembering that thing, a wide smirk appeared on his face. He then disappeared into a blur. Right now, Madara was heading over to the Blue Rose base. He wanted to see Charlotte.

Since he won the fight between them, they haven't had an actual conversation. If he wanted Charlotte to fall for him, he had to show her that he was strong and that he cared about her.

Approaching the base, he concealed himself because they probably had some trap set for any man that came through. Madara easily found Charlotte. She had the highest mana amongst the girl and he felt a sense of familiarity when he was close to Charlotte.

When Madara approached Charlotte's room, it looked like she was getting ready for bed. It was pretty late, so he understood why she was looked the way she did.

She had on a blue nightgown. Madara knocked on her window, making her jump because she couldn't sense his mana.

"What are you doing here?" Charlotte asked a little surprised, but coldly at the same time.

"I came to see you. We haven't had a real conversation." Madara said, getting no reaction from her.

"I can hear you fine. There's no reason for you to come inside." Charlotte said, making Madara smile. Madara then moved closer to the window as he phased through it.

"How did you..." Charlotte said, backing up a little because she was right at the window.

"I just want to talk. I have no ill intentions." Madara said, to Charlotte. She agreed to talk because she sensed he had any ill intentions.

"What did you want to talk about?" Charlotte asked, sitting in the chair across from Madara.

"Well, I want to get to know you. And I want you to get to know me." Madara said, on the outside, Charlotte still had that stern expression, but on this inside, she was having one of her monologues.

"I was born in the House of Roselei, something extreme happened and I vowed to become strong enough to break the shackles held on me. I-" Charlotte said, before getting interrupted by Madara.

"Stop. You will become strong enough? Like alone? Why rely on yourself when you have other people you can rely on?" Madara said, making Charlotte's eyes widen for a moment.

*BADUM!*

'It's the same thing Yami said.' Charlotte thought after hearing Madara chastise her.

"What do you know?! Only I can break the curse placed on me!" Charlotte shouted at Madara.

"I know that you can't do everything alone. That-" Madara said, before getting cut off by Charlotte.

"How do you think I've come so far?! I've gotten where I've today because I've relied only on myself. What makes you think I'm going I'm going to listen to a child?!" Charlotte said, making Madara grit his teeth.

"Twelve years ago, I woke up in the forest with nothing but my name. I then met the man who became family to me. I then killed him. You're asking why I killed him, right? He was suffering from a disease and his dying wish was for me to send him off to his family. I didn't want to get close to anybody after that. I thought I could do everything by myself. Living with that type of mindset almost got me killed until I decided to depend on other people. I don't want the same to happen to you because I care for you..." Madara said, feeling sad thinking about Reiner.

"You and I are two different people. I don't need anybody to protect me when danger comes around. I am confident in my abilities, I will make it out even in the face of death!" Charlotte said, only getting a sad sigh from Madara as he disappeared into the floor.

"CHAR! I heard you yelling, are you ok?! Is it a man?! I'll kill them!" Sol said, looking around the room to see if anyone was there.

"It's nothing, Sol. I'm just tired." Charlotte said, getting up from the chair and going to the lamp.

"Ok, goodnight Char," Sol said, leaving out of her room.

"Call me captain," Charlotte said turning off the lamp and getting into her bed.

"She'll get herself killed thinking like that. I have no other choice..." Madara said, looking at the darkroom he was just in.

"It's getting late. I should head back to the hideout." Madara said, stepping through a portal.

"Finally, your back," Vanessa said while drinking a bottle of wine.

"You were waiting on me?" Madara asked seeing the semi-drunk Vanessa.

"It's good luck to have a drink before bed," Vanessa said, handing Madara an unopened bottle.

The night went on and they drank a few bottles while talking and laughing. After the fourth bottle, it hit him again, at the same time. He was getting tired, so he decided to go to bed.

"It's getting late. I'm going to bed." Madara said, getting up almost falling to the ground due to him being drunk.

"Let me help you back. You'll fall if I don't." Vanessa said, putting Madaras' arm around her neck. She then carried Madara back to his room.

"Thank you..." Madara said, before passing out.

Vanessa checked the empty hallway and shut the door while she was still in his room. She then laid on top of him, getting the same feeling of safety she had before.

Feeling the extra weight on him, he thought he was keeping up with training. Madara opened his eyes to see Vanessa's sleeping body laying on top of him.

He then struggled to put the cover over her because she was barely wearing anything. After a few unsuccessful attempts, he finally got the cover over her.

Madara then placed his arm around her. Feeling her warmth radiate onto him made him feel calm. He pulled her in closer, then quickly fell asleep. Vanessa, who was awake through the process, only smiled as she got comfortable on top of Madara.
