Revolver

JAKARTA, 2019

The metropolitan is often the main destination for people from all over the country to live and work. It's no wonder that every day the places that are the source of entry for immigrants are always crowded. Whether it's an airport, seaport, Bus Terminal, or even a train station. Including Gambir Station which is one of the largest train stations in Jakarta.

Many people from various regions and various professions also enliven this place. This bustling atmosphere is actually very suitable for small traders to sell, but for a long time the government has prohibited traders from selling inside the station area, unless they have to rent available a tend.

But merchants weren't the only ones who enjoyed seeing this kind of crowd. There was another party who was happier watching the boisterous atmosphere. They usually carry out their activities in secret. His job is to target anyone who brings valuables to then be taken secretly. Yes, they are pickpockets.

On that day, the pickpockets consisting of five teenagers carried out their actions by targeting the wallet in the back pocket of an old man with a black hat and glasses. He is about 60 years old with an ideal body size like a man his age. The old man had just stepped out of the third carriage from the front. by carrying a handbag and a book which he carried in a hug. He walked towards the exit opposite the direction of the train he had just flown in.

One of the pickpockets deliberately rammed his body into the old man. Not too hard, but enough to knock over a book he was holding on.

"Watch out, son!" rebuked the old man.

"Sorry, sir, it wasn't on purpose," replied the teenager reasoning.

The old man picked up his scattered books. With a bent position, it became an opportunity for the pickpocket to take his wallet which was in the back pocket of his pants. The shape of his long wallet with the size of his shallow pants pocket, makes half of his wallet stick out. Of course that makes it easier for a thief to take it. The wallet was taken and then given to a friend secretly, followed by the other friend walking slowly while giving it to another friend quickly and taking turns.

The old man only realized after his hand reached into the back pocket of his pants and found his wallet was missing. Feeling unsure, he continued to reach into his front trouser pocket, shirt pocket, and the black jacket pocket he was wearing. No need to think long, he immediately became suspicious of the teenage boy who bumped into him a moment ago. Now his face turned to the right and left as his eyes combed sharply around to find the whereabouts of the teenager.

From a distance, he found the teenager who hit him was walking rather fast and occasionally turned to look at him. There's nothing wrong with him taking it.

"Pickpocket! Pickpocket! Catch him. Anybody catch him!" shouted the old man.

The pickpocket immediately ran away. In a panic, he ran while bumping into anyone who got in his way. Even though they worked in groups, their other friends didn't run. Because they know that only one pickpocket is known to the target. One of those who didn't run was in charge of keeping the wallet safe. They walked normally towards the place where they usually gather to wait for their friend who was being chased. They hoped that his friend would not be caught.

Hafiz just got out of the same train that the old man was riding in. But from a different carriage, far behind him. While walking to the exit, his hands were busy stuffing a coin that had fallen into his own wallet. Instantly he saw the pickpocket running past him. Plus hearing the screams of 'pickpocket' by the Old Man from a distance.

He don't waste his time to thinking along, Hafiz followed suit. Followed later by the people who were at the station. Hafiz, who was eager to catch up, was suddenly stopped by a large and athletic person in front of him, then pushed him down.

"Quick, return the wallet!" snapped the big man.

"No... no, I'm not the pickpocket. The pickpocket ran to the exit gate," protested Hafiz panicked.

"Let's just beat it!" shouted one of the group of people running after the pickpocket. They immediately beat Hafiz without listening to Hafiz's defense.

Doooooooorrrr...

There was the sound of a gun being fired into the air. Which turned out to be from a big man earlier. This revolver type pistol was deliberately fired to reduce the situation that was starting to get chaotic.

"Everyone calm down!" snapped the man. "Don't take justice into your own hands if you want to see justice."."

"Do you want to return the wallet you're holding, or come with me to the police station!?" continued the man firmly to Hafiz.

"But I'm not the pickpocket, sir, this is my own wallet," Hafiz refused frantically.

"Still don't want to admit to you either," said one resident while kicking Hafiz who was lying helpless.

"Yeah, just admit you instead of dying here," added another resident.

"Yes, that's right, just admit it" barrage other residents cornered.

"Yes, sir, just take it to the police station," added another resident, adding to the chaos. The more mouths that speak, the more unconditioned the situation is in that place. some residents who do not take part in the problem just watch it. There are also those who record with their cellphones to capture the event.

Dooor...Dooor...Dooor...

"I beg everyone to be quiet!" the man snapped. "I am a policeman, I will take him to the office. Where is the victim?"

Then the old man who was the victim of pickpocketing approached him accompanied by two station security officers.

"It wasn't him, it wasn't my wallet after all!" snapped the old man glaring at the crowd.

"He was the one who chased the pickpocket," he continued. "Now because you guys caught it wrong, the original pickpocket has escaped safely with my wallet."

"Alright everyone disband...! everyone disband...!" firmly the big man warned the residents.

"Please call an ambulance! I will take this innocent person to the hospital" the old man ordered.

"On what basis did you give me orders?" the man protested.

The old man began to realize that the big man he was facing was not a civilian or a member of the police.

"I don't care who you are, what your rank is! I saw you stop him while chasing a pickpocket...!" snapped the old man. "Indirectly you take the law into your own hands, because you caused him to be beaten by the residents until he bled."

"Okay, sir! I'll call an ambulance," replied the policeman feeling guilty. "And let me bear the medical expenses."

"No, Thanks! I can still afford it!" said the old man.

Not long after the police called, the ambulance came and immediately took Hafiz to the nearest hospital.
