CH. 1

Luffy rolled out of bed reluctantly, only being driven by the intense scolding he knew he would get from Nami and the others if he decided to skip. He let out a long, exaggerated groan as he stood to his feet. His spiky, raven-black hear was no messier than it had always been, so he didn't worry about combing it or fixing it up. He only took a short shower, before getting out and getting ready to leave. He promptly threw on his backpack and rushed out the door, grabbing a bag of chips and his hat on his way out the door.

He did his best to shake off the sleepiness as he began walking down the cold sidewalk. Christmas break had just ended, but it was still relatively cold, he would occasionally see his breath in the air, which he had fun with. He met Zoro who was also just waking up and decided to walk with him.

Fast forward a little while...

Luffy stood at his desk, recklessly slinging his backpack off of his shoulder before taking a seat. He was annoyed, but he was sure he would be able to find ways to keep himself entertained at school. One by one, the other students began filing in. Luffy greeted them all with a hearty smile.

"Heya guys!" He screamed, already getting an annoyed look from the teacher. Only his friend group greeted him back, as they were used to his sporadic mien.

"Hey Luffy, you're awfully happy." Robin greeted him, a warm smile on her face.

The others joined in all speaking about how their break had been and what they had done. They were interrupted by their teacher, Mr. Newgate, their math teacher, who had to make an announcement.

"Okay, listen here, brats, this is your first day back, so I don't give a damn what you do, but whatever it is, do it quietly." He said looking up from his book and then turning his gaze back down.

Everyone resumed chattering, now slightly quieter as to not anger their teacher. The first period went by without any major issues, and everyone stopped by their lockers to drop off their stuff before heading to the next class. Luffy swung open his locker, hitting his neighbor in the head. He gritted his teeth and closed his locked quickly, looking down at the tall, slender form that lay on the floor before him. She looked up, a fiery flare full of hatred in her eyes. Anyone else on the planet would have been phased by that burning glare, but he didn't seem to notice it.

"Oh I'm sorry, I didn't mean to." He said, reaching his hand out to her.

He wrapped his fingers around her wrist, moving her head from her forehead. A small stream of blood trickled down onto her thin nose, and past her eye. He quickly picked her up, ignoring the curses she threw at him as he carried her.

"I AM BOA HANCOCK, I SHALL SUBMIT TO KNOW MAN! PUT ME DOWN, SCUM!" she yelled dramatically, getting a few gazes as he ran.

,

"Shhh, I have a doctor friend he will fix you up." He whispered, trying to calm her down.

She stopped confused.

"You just attacked me! Why are you taking me to a doctor? Are you mad?" She asked.

"I didn't attack you. It was an accident. I already said sorry." he said, confused by her aggression. He dropped her on the floor in front of chopper, earning a gasp from the snake woman.

Once chopper gave her a bandaid, and called Luffy and idiot, Luffy grabbed her by the hand and led her to their next class, ignoring the deathly tight grip she held his hand with. His rubbery body saved him from having every bone in his hand crushed to dust. They stepped inside, being greeted by their teacher, Mr. Shanks, who was much more friendly than Newgate, who everyone at the school called Whitebeard.

"Hey, Luffy! Welcome back, Hancock! Good to see you two again. We won't be doing much in science class today except organizing ourselves, we'll start tomorrow." He said, pointing them to their seats.

Luffy went to the seat that his group had already reserved for him, and smiled contentedly, today was a free day, and he loved nothing more than free days at school. Hancock went to her seat as well, it being the only seat left, men and women alike panted like dogs at the site of her, only making her growl in annoyance. Luffy got out his phone and began playing games, careful to keep the volume down this time. He turned around.

"Hey, Zor-" he whispered, stopping when he saw that Zoro was asleep. "Damnit. How come he always has to sleep during class?" He mumbled, turning his attention back to his phone.

The day went by smoothly, each class being much the same as the first two. And the crew left, each of them less energetic than they had been just a few hours earlier. Luffy walked home alone, a happy smile on his face. He was more than happy to have been able to see his friends again, and he was happy that he had no work to do.
