Matthew's letter and his response I

After 3 days of knowing the truth about Laura's state of health and thinking seriously about what to do, his thoughts were interrupted by King Emiliano who had a little rest for his enjoyment and seeing the young man in the kitchen so thoughtful wanted to break the silence while he sat down he asked him

King Emiliano: Everything all right, young man?

This one who makes a slight sigh decides to tell the King: I found out about Laura's illness and that partly has me....

Matthew who goes up to his bedroom and begins to write a letter copying his parents about who would be his new wife, when he was about to sign and seal it he is interrupted again, but this time it was Crete who had called him to let him know that he had a letter from his parents, he asks him to hold the messenger to send this letter, he signed and sealed it quickly and delivered it to Crete who the poor thing ran downstairs to give the letter to the messenger while Matthew looks at her with an apologetic face and whispers

Matthew: "I'm sorry."

He opened the letter in a hurry and was asked to return with an answer, between sighs he agreed to return but without first getting up the courage to look for Laura.

Laura and Orchid were in the garden while they see a Crete running like crazy after the messenger and deliver a letter, Laura who was with her eyes closed hearing her sister's voice singing. Orchid who liked singing and improvising in her melodies gave a sigh and looking at Laureano smiled and continued her singing, Laura almost asleep hummed the melody, Orchid who sees that they have already been singing for a long time asks Lau to dance a little ballet for her, while Laura laughs says

Laura: all right, but you must sing a little more.

After a while Matthew finally sees them and stops and decides to go slowly to them to admire that beautiful dance with a nice song, Laureano who sees him decides to call their attention and between both accomplices surround them and then congratulate them for such an act. Both concentrated on the steps and the voice they did not notice that both men were outside the gazebo watching them as lovers and laughing, and when Orqui saw that Lau was getting tired he ended the music slowly until it will be in a fine and low tone, while Orqui approached her he said to her

Orquidea: You danced like a fairy Lau, I felt like I was in the middle of the forest watching nymphs and fairies.

Lau who laughed and both men clapped their hands scaring the girls with a slight jump, Orquidea who turns around astonished says

Orchid: by the gods what a scare they have given us, next time they can come from the front so they don't interrupt us.

Laureano who shrugs his shoulders a little says: I'm sorry, I didn't think you would be scared like that.

Lau, who laughed at Orqui's gesture, said in favor of them: Don't be mean, it wasn't with bad intentions.

Lau, who saw how her sister supported them, could only laugh while she shook her head. Matthew, who congratulated them both, told them that tomorrow he had to leave again for England, but without first talking to Laura, Orqui made a gesture to Laureano to accompany her to see the horses, they decided to leave but not too far away since Orqui was worried about Lau's slight tiredness and did not want her to faint in the middle of the conversation.

Orquídea and Laureano stay close but hidden so as not to interrupt the conversation, Laureano, who quickly notices how Matthew behaves, whispers

Laureano: "so he's nervous about that".

Orchid who did not understand much decided to ask later and listen attentively to the talk, Matthew who was sweating his hands and his voice was going away asked

Matthew: My lady, do you already have a suitor?

Laura, who was surprised by this question, shook her head and commented: not at all, my father has not presented me with a fiancé yet.

Even more nervous, he takes a breath and decides to be direct.

Matthew: Lady Laura, you have become important to me and I want you to accept to be my fiancée.

Laura who could not even speak and Orquidea together with Laureano both astonished and blushing for such a direct statement, Orquidea whispers to him

Orchid: "This is what you meant, I am happy for him... I hope Laura accepts".

Laureano without uttering a sound just nods to such comment, Laura who had not said half a word just put her hands to her mouth while the young man already confessed was looking for some closeness, after Laura reacted she comments doubtfully

Laura: I thought you liked my sister Orchid, since the last time I saw them together.

Both Orchid and Matthew were astonished and a jealous Laureano, to which Matthew laughs and explains the reason for the talk, Laureano raises an eyebrow and decides to keep quiet, to which Matthew asks Laura for an answer, she takes a breath and says

Laura: Are you sure about that Sir Matthew, I don't want to feel like those stories where one of us suffers.

He shakes his head and comments that he has thought about it very well and knows that he made the best decision. Laura, now more relaxed, smiles happily and while laughing a little from her nerves, says

Laura: Yes, I am happy to be your fiancée.
