"Did you all see that?" asked Gabriel as he stood at the edge of a castle overlooking the well to the mortal realm. The Archangel had witnessed Reika and Tie Ta destroy half of downtown Los Angeles.
"Such extraordinary power for humans. Who are they?" many higher angels spoke similar words as they witnessed the same scene as Gabriel.
"If all things created by God are known to us, then why do we not know them?" Uriel, the Archangel, spoke out in heaven. "It can only mean they are monsters."
"If they are monsters, they must be eliminated," Added Raphael, another Archangel.
"Who will volunteer to lead the extermination?" asked Gabriel.
"I'll lead the team. This must be done promptly," said Raphael. "Monsters are the work of old Gods. If they emerge now, they could unite the humans against us."
"Who cares!" said Gabriel, "Father has ordered their extermination. But that fool Micheal has descended to help the vermin. And by fate, if you fail and they cross paths with Micheal. That gilded tongue defier will talk them into support. If that happens, Sister, I will take it that you have sided with Michael, against me."
Raphael starred daggers at Gaberial. She then looked down onto the mortal world and saw Zhuiyu was leading the team out of Los Angeles to a small dinner at the edge of the Mojave Desert. In the skies above the line of SUVs on the road, Tie Ta, Reika, and Ahmanet flew to keep watch out for Team North America.
"Worry not, brother. I will end them all." Raphael then expanded her large black wings and leaped into the open air as she glided upon the currents, many higher angels lept into the air to join her.
"Remember, Sister!" Gabriel shouted, "I will be watching!"
-------------------------------
On earth, Team China had left Los Angels and was on the highway through the national forest. The journey was smooth and easy. Honestly, it unnerved the team more so than driving through a field of IEDs.
Tie Ta looked around the dark skies and wondered where Team North America was hiding. He couldn't sense them anywhere close by. Either Team North America was composed of better assassins than Yinkong, who could hide her presence completely. Or they were just out of Tie Ta's range.
"Captain, did you pack the fuel?" Zhuiyu's question was asked telepathically.
"I did. Is it time to refuel already?"
"It is. We should stop and get it over with," she replied.
After the refueling, the Team lasted on the road for all but five minutes when Tie Ta sent a message ripping through the minds of Team China.
'They are coming. Go, and do not stop.'
Tie Ta, Reika, and Ahmanet looked to the sky as the SUVs kept driving towards the desert. In the sky were multiple shadows of winged humanoids. Some dressed in all black armor with black wings, all red armor with red wings, and personal style armor with black wings that had a metallic luster that gave them a nice sheen even under the moonlight.
"How do we handle this?" Asked Ahmanet.
Tie Ta tilted his head as he looked at the descending angels. " Breach their minds," he said, "If you can."
Reika took his words a challenge as she singled out a single angel and pushed forth with her mind. Reika stayed strong as she entered the mind of the angel and looked to disable him. However, she found the mind of the eons-old creature more than she could bear.
Reika's slowly started to bleed from her nose and ears. Tie Ta was forced to slap her free of the link that she established. Reika panted, and her eyes were full of terror.
"E-eons." she mumbled, "Never enter their minds... It's like a void. It does not attack or defend because you will inevitably become lost."
Reika trembled in Ahmanet's arms.
"Rei, you need to get to the team. Ahmanet and I will hold them off," said Tie Ta.
Reika was going to protest, but Ahmanet silenced her. She then told Reika that she had to go.
Left alone, Ahmanet and Tie Ta stood ready in the sky as the Angels surrounded them. One angel, in particular, split off to follow Reika. Tie Ta would have none of it. He pointed towards the singular angel and muttered with stinging venom.
"Hadō #90. Kurohitsugi."
The angel dressed in all red armor plummeted to the earth under the force of gravity. A black-purple box made of spiritual power, and Qi imprisoned the angel. An instant later, rays of power rained down on the trapped angels.
When the barrier dissipated, Tie Ta was intrigued to see the angel only on one knee.
"Ahmanet, try your staff. I will be back." Tie Ta didn't wait for a response as he used Shunpo to appear behind the angel that survived his attack. Tie Ta throws a straight punch to the nape of the angel's neck.
Boom!
Tie Ta smirked at the quick reaction speed of the higher angel. He had successfully intercepted Tie Ta's blow, causing a shockwave to turn the surrounding trees to splinters.
"Good!" Tie Ta happily roared at the angel. He then cartwheeled backward to avoid the durable razor-sharp wings of the angel.
The angel drew his blades and pressed Tie Ta. Tie Ta slipped the slashes and stabs. But little did the angel know, he was being used to further Tie Ta's comprehension of techniques from the Way of Onmitsu, 3rd of the Shihō- the most advanced shinigami movement techniques.
When Tie Ta was finished studying, he created fifteen-speed clones. The angel was disarmed and beheaded with his own blade during the blur of multiple Tie Ta's.
Tie Ta then bent down to pick up a second sword from the angel's corpse before returning to Ahmanet's side. Ahmanet looked like a tyrant as she wielded her Uru Staff. Tie Ta was pleased to see that his hard work bruised the higher angels, but it didn't heavily injure them. Honestly, Tie Ta didn't think they would work at all.
Ahmanet quickly turned her staff into a missile and launched it into the chest of an angel. She then pressed her hands together, conjuring up a great tempest that swallowed her and Tie Ta before expanding to push the angels back.
When the tempest was over, Tie Ta tossed one of the angel swords to Ahmanet.
"They're strong," he said. "But their blades can hurt them."
"They're testing us to gauge the strength of the rest of the team," said Ahmanet.
"Well, I killed one, so if we want to make it out. We should let loose a bit."
Ahmanet laughed at him. "You're the one holding back. Let loose and find out what you're really made of."
"What about you?" he asked.
"As long as you exist, I am invincible, my love."
Ahmanet and Tie Ta shared a loving stare, and then the hackle of a woman destroyed the mood. The couple looked up and saw a woman with long golden locks and radiant blue eyes, large black wings, and iron-like armor.
"Amusing. Such lowly creatures, you...Abominations appear in the midst of chaos in some feeble attempt of reclaiming the earth." Raphael spoke with unwavering confidence.
However, Tie Ta and Ahmanet were confused.
"What the fuck are you talking, bitch." Tie Ta then erupted with Pisionic Reiryoku that caught the angels off guard, momentarily shocking them. That shock was the biggest mistake of their eons of life, as Tie Ta used shunpo to swiftly behead three more angels.
At the same time, Ahmanet had turned to sand, and the wind carried her. Wherever her cloud of sand appeared, a head rolled. Blood spewed from their headless necks, and their bodies fell from the sky with showers of blood.
"Ahmanet!" Tie Ta shouted as the remaining angels flew into a rage, and Raphael issued a kill order.
Ahmanet wasted no time as she, too, erupted with energy, and massive arcane circles were cast under the battle. One stacking upon the other. The more complex the circle became, the more wild and nerve-wracking the magic felt.
Tie Ta pushed his spiritual power to the limits. He refused to draw Shi Long Di, so he released his life and death Qi to aid him. The national forest had now been leveled, and the sky was churning with great storms and roaring booms of colliding weapons that gave the impression of thunder as Tie Ta fought off the angels to buy Ahmanet time. Unfortunately, it seemed that the angels were matching Tie Ta's energy blow for blow.
He couldn't understand it. How powerful were the angels, really?
Tie Ta delivered a crushing kick to the head of an angel when Ahmanet appeared at his side. "Don't hold your breath," she shouted as the world went white.
Tie Ta and the higher angels soon appeared over the pacific ocean. Tie Ta, being used to temporal displacement, quickly became lucid. But he wasn't the only one, as the Higher angels quickly bounced back as well.
Twelve angels and an Archangel now surrounded Ahmanet and Tie Ta. The only thing different this time was the scenery of the lunar-lit ocean as opposed to the destroyed forest.
"Ignorant fools. Just die," said Raphael.
Her words were accompanied by Enochian circles that shined with a golden luster.
"Maybe next time," Tie Ta replied while his eyes shined red with two circles of runes with a pentagram within appeared in each of his eyes.
Before Raphael could react, Tie Ta used Hadō #4, Byakurai, to shatter Raphael's magic. An instant later, her magic was replicated 26 times.
"Try not to blink during the flash." Tie Te taunted the angels as he pulled more energy from the Belt of Beloth the Wise and added another 13 magic circles for a total of 39 magic circles.
In a great act of magic. All 39 magic circles fired divine lances at the angles. The lances penetrated their bodies, but it didn't kill them. Tie Ta then used his telekinesis to control the two angelic blades.
The all-red curved short swords flew around the air blowing through the backs and heads of twelve angels. As the bodies fell from the sky, Tie Ta's senses enveloped them and their weapons, pulling them all into his storage pendant.
Raphael looked on with horrified eyes.
"Bring your army, Girl. Uriel, Gabriel, Lucifer. Bring em all, because this is just the beginning. And we will not die quietly like obedient slaves. For I have an army that has collected dust for centuries." said Tie Ta.
"W-what are you?" Raphael stammered.
"Can't you feel it?!" Tie Ta roared and released a pressure similar to his Psionic Reiryoku, but solely attributed to the power of Set. "I am the God of Death. And I have come with my shinigami to take the angels to oblivion."
Raphael was beaten to a pulp with a gaping hole in her chest. However, Tie Ta could see it healing at an incredible speed.
"Return to heaven and inform them all that the babe and its mother are mines."
Raphael growled, but she wasn't stupid enough to move against Tie Ta at the moment. She then began to reply when the images of Ahmanet and Tie Ta began to fade away.
Raphael just sighed at Tie Ta's speed.
---------------------------------------
Tie Ta and Ahmanet were now collecting the angels' bodies and weapons at what used to be the national forest.
"So this is why you didn't want to lead the team on this mission?" asked Ahmanet.
"Mhmm. My Qi, Psionic Reiryoku, Telekinesis, and magic were needed to stop them. Their blades are a must to kill them. One on one, my team can take them. In an all-out war, they would defiantly need the right army to ease that burden." Tie replied.
"So let's say you were at 50 percent. Add your Zanpakuto and ghoul and Genetic Constraints, you'll turn the archangels into your playthings," said Ahmanet.
"No, I got lucky. The trick at the end. It was unexpected and otherworldly. It was angelic magic that actually did the damage. "
"What does that mean for us?"
"It means everyone will need to go all out, all of the time. These angels are no pushovers."
Ahmanet suddenly stopped and looked at Tie Ta with a serious expression. "What if one of us becomes possessed?" she asked.
"No. I let the newbies get possessed," Tie Ta confessed. "The Lesser angels are no different than hallows. I can see them coming down from heaven. I saw them as they hoovered over everyone and finally chose the two newbies."
Ahmanet just shook her head with a slight smirk.
-------------------------------------
At the same time, Team China was also making discoveries of their own.
"So you can see the angels possessing people?" Ouyang Di asked Zhu Wen.
Back in Los Angels, she had freaked out when she saw the newbies become possessed. Ouyang Di had asked her about it, and she explained that she witnessed the lesser angels in their ethereal form.
"That means the Captin should be able to see them too," said Heng.
"If they're spirits, a shinigami can see them," said Di. "Zhu Wen, you let us know whenever you see one of those things, okay?"
Zhu Wen firmly nodded her head.
Zhuiyu then broadcasted her thoughts to tell everyone that it was sunrise. Team China was only an hour away from the diner where the movie events took place. An hour passed by like a swift breeze.
When the line of SUVs pulled up to the Dinner. Tie Ta and Ahmanet had landed next to them. Tie Ta wouldn't admit it, but he was tired. He was pulling energy stored in his belt to keep his body moving. The Angelic magic that he mimicked had done a number on him. But none of that mattered now that the team was at Paradise Falls.
Paradise Falls is a run-down old diner with peeling old white paint and a worn mechanical gas pump in the parking lot. Looking around, there was nothing for miles.
Tie Ta then asked Zhuiyu about their next move. Zhuiyu started explaining that they should fake car trouble, but Wutong stopped her. He then pulled out a case of gold coins with a scythe minted on one side and a "G" on the backside.
Wutong told her that scheming had no place in this mission. All other encounters could be solved with gold coins and guns.
Zhuiyu admitted that all of her plans were just schemes to buy time. Wutong then told the group his plan.
"It's 7:45 in the morning. Let's just get some rest and wait for the characters to wake up. When they're nice and awake, I'll buy the diner from them." said Wutong.
Tie Ta stayed indifferent. He simply took Rekia's and Ahmanet's hands before leading them to the backside of the diner, where he pitched a mechanical pop-up canopy tent.
"Figure out the watch schedule. I'm going to sleep," he said.
Team China was speechless, and once again, they all looked at Zhuiyu. She suddenly felt overwhelmed and anxious as Tie Ta really didn't plan to help her lead.
"Wutong, we'll go with your plan. Two people will be on watch every hour and never a newbie. Yinkong, Wutong, you two take first watch." Ordered Zhuiyu.
