HE'S BACK

I woke up, when someone sprinkled water on my eyes. When I opened my eyes, I saw my manager holding me, his eyes was showing concern for me. Then I remembered Veer, I saw Veer sitting on his knees beside me. He smiled when I looked at him. Then I realized that I fainted infront of my office and everyone is standing around me. I immediately got up from his lap and stood beside my manager and opposite to Veer.

My manager asked me, "Are you okay?" I nodded my head. And the very next second Veer hugged me. And I saw the change in his eyes. From concern to anger. His eyes were spitting fire. I immediately pushed Veer off me. Veer was about to come near me, but my manager stood in between us. He said, "Who the hell are you?" Veer replied, "I know her, We're best friends. I need to talk to her. It's urgent."

Then my manager turned towards me and asked, "Do you know him?" I nodded my head as yes, not wanting to create any scene there. Then he asked everyone to disperse. When everyone left I saw Jack waiting for me, He's talking to someone. I guess he's talking to Vinod uncle. He might have said about my fainting. Then my manager asked me, "Are you sure that you're okay? or should I drop you somewhere?" I replied, "I'm perfectly ok, and I'll manage sir."

He said, "Call me Arjun, we're not in office now." I nodded my head. Then he said, "Ok, then I'll leave. If you need something, don't hesitate to call me. I hope you've my number." I just nodded my head again. He looked at Veer one last time and left from there.

As soon as Arjun left, Veer cupped my face and said, "How are you Misti? I'm extremely sorry. All this happened because of me. I'm the reason behind your miseries. I'm sorry, please forgive me."

I removed his hands from my face and said, "What has happened to you? You're not the Veer I know. Why are you blaming yourself for my broken marriage. You should be sorry for not telling me about Nikhil's stupid warning but not for my broken marriage. Are you even understanding what are you saying?"

He replied, "I know Misti, if you had not known about that on your wedding day. Then, you would have been happily married by now." I didn't let him continue, I slapped him on his cheek. He was very shocked when I slapped him. I said, "You're still not realizing your mistake. And I don't want to talk to you." I just went and sat in the car and Jack drove me to home.

All the way, I was crying. I didn't expect this from Veer. I thought he'll ask me sorry for not telling me what mom and Nikhil has done. But instead, he's feeling bad that my marriage broke. What should I do with him? Out of all the people, I didn't expect Veer to behave this way. But I didn't understand how did he know that I was here. Then my phone started ringing, it was Anshu. I think she got the news.

I lifted the call,

"Dhrithi, how are you? Dad told me that you fainted a while back. Is everything okay?"

"Yes Anshu, I'm perfectly alright. Everything is ok. Yes, I fainted, but it's momentary thing and I'm fine now. Jack is taking me home."

"Ok take care. I'll come there soon."

"No, it's not needed. I'm fine."

"Still I'm coming and who's going to stop me."

"I just wanted to rest for a while, then I'll be okay. If you want to come, then come for dinner. By that time even I'll get time to rest and even you'll be okay after seeing me"

"Ok then, I'll come home for dinner."

And then she cut the call. I was in my own world that I didn't notice Veer following me from behind. We reached home, as soon as I got down and started walking inside. Veer grabbed my hand and pulled me towards him. I landed on his chest. Then he immediately left me and said, "Sorry Misti, but please listen to me once. Let me explain once. After that you decide what you want to do. I'm ready to do, whatever you say."

I waited for a while and said, "Ok, let's go inside and then talk" He nodded his head and came behind me.

As soon as I entered, Annie auntie came rushing to me and asked, "How are you sweety?" I mentally slapped myself for fainting. Even Annie auntie knows it, everyone came to know by now. I replied, "I'm perfectly alright. Nothing has happened to me. It's just my headache that made me faint. But otherwise I'm perfectly fine." She made me sit on the couch and then went inside to bring refreshments for us. She bought Juice along with toast for me and Coffee for Veer and then left to kitchen.

Veer was waiting for me to finish the toast and juice. I didn't say anything to him. When I finished eating, he came to me, sat infront of me on his knees and held my hands. Then he started saying, "Misti you know how important you're to me and how much you need me. I'd never do anything which would hurt you. I'd never leave you for anyone or anything and you know that."

I cut him in middle and said, "But you already left me for Nikhil." He said, "Pleasse Misti, let me finish. I didn't leave you for Nikhil. Like I said I'd never leave you for anyone. I had to leave you because of you, for your happiness. One day Nikhil has called me and asked me to come to his office, he asked me not to tell you. I thought maybe he's some surprise for you, in which he might need my help. So, I didn't tell anythng. When I went to his office, Nikhil asked me to stay away from you and go far away from your life, if I want you to be happily married. I denied it on his face and said that I'll tell you what he has asked me. So, from his office, I directly came to your home. Your mom was already in the living room, I asked her where were you. She said that she wants to talk to me and asked me to come to the study room. After going there, even she said the same Nikhil has said. I tried to refuse her but I couldn't, how could I deny her. Then I thought may be, you'll be happy with Nikhil if I go away. I was so confused, I didn't know what to do. And then aunty took a promise from me that I'll not let you know anything about this. So, I didn't had an option. I had to leave you, but I thought you'll be happy. Still I wasn't sure. Even when I left India after telling you. I thought of coming back, if you call me about my return. But you never called nor asked me about my returning. And top to that Aunty was sending me pics of all the wedding functions. You was so happy with Nikhil. So, I thought you'll be happy with Nikhil. That's the reason I haven't come back. But I accept I made a mistake. I should have told you earlier. Had I told you, then either this would have been solved or atleast it would not have gone till the wedding alter. I'm sorry, Please forgive me for not telling you all this before. I thought you'll be happy if I leave, but became the reason for all your miseries. I'm sorry Misti, please forgive me. I'll do anything you say, but please don't push me away." and started crying holding my hands. Even I was crying, seeing his vulnerability. Not only me, even he has suffered. But I kept blaming him that he didn't tell me earlier and left me just like that. It wasn't his decision of leaving me, I know he can never leave me. Right now I'm getting angry on me, how could she do this to us. Even after knowing everything about us, she did this to us. And I hate her for doing this to us. I caught his face in my hands and then I wiped his tears and said, "Please Veer don't cry like this, you know I don't like your tears." He replied, "Only if you forgive me" trying to stifle his tears. I replied, "Only if you stop crying" He wiped his tears and stopped crying slowly. Then I hugged him tightly and said, "I love you and you're the best" He immediately broke the hug and looked at me shocked and said, "So, you mean to say you forgave me?"
