06 : Time Together

"You can't say no pres," Chester said with a stern voice.

Dave sighed on the other side of the phone,"do I really need to come?"

He don't want to go. He knew if he come he'll meet him. He doesn't know how to face him. After what happen he try his best to avoid him. When he approach him, he'll avoid him as if he has some transmittable disease. When he saw him in the hallway he will run off. When he tried to talk to him he will suddenly talk to someone else saying he's busy. He basically can't face Steve after what he said in the office.

Everytime he remembers what happen in the office he'll get blush and feel embarrass. There's a time he's in the hallway when he remember the stunned face of Steve making him embarrass again and unconsciouly shout the word, "Why do I need to say that?!" earning a weird look from the student. It added on the list of his embarrassing moment.

𝘈𝘩, 𝘨𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘮𝘦 𝘢 𝘣𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘬. 𝘐 𝘥𝘰𝘯'𝘵 𝘸𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘢𝘷𝘰𝘪𝘥 𝘩𝘪𝘮 𝘪𝘯 𝘮𝘺 𝘸𝘦𝘦𝘬𝘦𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘰𝘰. 𝘐𝘵'𝘴 𝘦𝘹𝘩𝘢𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨.

"Earth to Dave," Chester snapped him out of daydreaming.

"Huh?"

"I said of course you're the president. Other party may think you're irresponsible if you didn't come. Your action will reflect to our school. So you must come," Chester repeats and rolled his eyes.

𝘈𝘯𝘥 𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘐 𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘐'𝘮 𝘧𝘳𝘦𝘦 𝘧𝘰𝘳 2 𝘥𝘢𝘺𝘴.

"Okay, what time?" Dave asked sighing. Giving up since Chester has a point. He had responsibility too like Steve.

Chester grin for his victory, " the waiting time is 10:00 am in North Station. We'll go together."

"Okay. Ahm," Dave contemplated.

"Steve said he's coming too."

He was stunned by what Chester said and ashamed. Is he too obvious?

"You know Dave, you should stop avoiding him. I get it you're ashame of what you did and said but avoiding him won't make things clear up. Get it all together dude face him and fix your problem as a real man," Chester's peace of advice.

"Besides it's kinda tiring watching you too playing hide and seek in school though it's kinda cute too like in a bl story," he added.

No answer from the other party. It took a minute before he nodded saying, "Okay. I'll do that."

Chester grinned, satisfied by Dave's answer and hung up the call. Dave flop in his bed, staring at his dull ceiling. The room was dark and silent that his mumble can be hear in ever corner of his room.

𝘙𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵. 𝘐'𝘭𝘭 𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘴𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘢𝘭𝘬 𝘵𝘰 𝘚𝘵𝘦𝘷𝘦 𝘵𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘰𝘸.

𝘙𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵. 𝘐'𝘭𝘭 𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘴𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘢𝘭𝘬 𝘵𝘰 𝘚𝘵𝘦𝘷𝘦 𝘵𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘰𝘸.

That was exactly the words he said last night. 9 words and 37 letters. He's pretty motivate last night and has a lot of courage but now that he is really facing Steve those courage was no where to be found.

He's now walking to the N Station where they will be meeting up. He roam around. His eyes caught a familiar back. A not-so -broad back that covered with a plain navy blue shirt. It suited his pitch black hair and fair skin.

He was about to run and surprise him, wrapping his hand to his shoulder and neck like he usually do. But then he realized they're not in the good term. He stop in his track and decided to wait for others to come before joining them so they'll feel less awkward.

5 minutes pass and another 5 minutes, then another 5 minutes again.

Dave snapped out. Who said we must not to be late again? He's been waiting for fricking 15 minutes and it's still him and Steve here. What will happen with the other party then? Chester said it's important meeting but then he is missing in action.

He keep on rumbling, cursing chester and the others while groping his phone in his pocket. He raised his head to check one last time if they came already before calling them. But to his surprise, instead of Chester or Leo, it's Steve's eyes that welcome him. No one break the eye contact. He was stunned to do.

Steve is giving him a serious face while walking. He gulped unaware what to do. Each step of Steve's foot makes him nervous. Despite of having a lot of people making noise surrounding them plus the voice of the announcer and the rumble of rails, he can clearly hear the heavy step of Steve that's making him nervous. He started to panick the closer Steve gets. Afraid of facing him, Dave started to run off.

Steve was shocked. He didn't thought Dave would run off. He's tired of playing hide and seek with Dave. He promise today he'll make up with him no matter what. He groan as he started to chase after Dave.

Dave look around to check if Steve followed him. To his shock Steve indeed run after him. His phase hastened and so Steve. The people they pass look at them with a question look and a what-a-weird-kids-face.

Steve smile when a guard stop Dave from running. He walk towards him catching his breathe.

"No fooling around here kiddos. This station isn't a playground and is dangerous," the guard warned them.

Steve hold Dave's shoulder and squeeze it painfully "we won't do it again, right Dave?"

"A-aw. Y-yes we promise," Dave stuttered while trying to remove Steve's hand.

The guard left as soon as he is satisfied with the answer. No it's only Steve and him. It's obvious that Steve is pissed. It's written all over his face, a frown, his nerve that showing to his neck, and the way he grit his teeth. What he notice makes him cold sweat.

"Ah, Steve?"

"So you decided to talk to me, huh?" said Steve full with sarcasm.

"You mad?"

"You ask, really? You've been ignoring me in school for 2 days and now you run off again as soon as you saw me. If you have a problem tell straight to my face, man," Steve snapped.

"I'm sorry. I don't know how to face you after what happen. That's so childish of me."

"No. It's my fault, I didn't keep my promise. That's why we're here. I'll make it up to you."

"What? We weren't going to the meeting? I know you miss me Steve but don't you think escaping is too much?"

"The hell? What are you talking about?"

"Chester said we're going to an important meeting regarding to the upcoming school event."

Steve just give him a questioning look. Not understanding what he was saying. And there he realize what's happening.

"Nothing let's go. Where are we going, huh?" He cheered clinging his arm around Steve's shoulder.

He's back to his old energetic self again making Steve smile. He's glad he made up with Dave before this week ends, all thanks to Chester's help.
