07 : I Hate Cats But I Like You

"Passengers please ready your important belongings. We will arrive on the J Stop in a minute," a voice announced that echo in every corner of the train.

Not like in the every other day, the train is empty since it's not a rush hour. One by one, the passengers left. Along with them are Dave and Steve.

Dave is still has no idea where are they going. He asked Steve several times but he always say the same thing, "secret." He got tired asking for 35th time and just follow Steve.

He quietly walk after his track behind, unconsciously observing him. He has a white and fragile skin. It can easily bruise and when he blush his ears will turn into red as a tomato. When that happen, he'll cover it with his two hand and turn around from embarassment. A hazel nut eyes, his eyes that'll pierce into your soul. As if his looking right through you. Dave's eyes landed on Steve's pitch back hair and wonder,

"Does it feel soft?"

Dave raise his hand and reach for the hair in front of him. He caress it.

𝘐𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘴𝘰𝘧𝘵.

"What are you doing?" Dave snapped out of his own world.

He suddenly realize what he did.

"Ah!" He shouted grabbing his hand back.

Steve look at him questioning. Dave look so shock as if he saw a ghost. His left hand is clenching while his right hand is wrapping it, both are in his chest. He look at him in the eyes, raising his eyebrow and the latter just avoid his gaze.

Steve sighed going back to his track. He didn't budge to ask him again because for sure it won't tell him.

𝘊𝘢𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘮𝘺 𝘩𝘢𝘪𝘳 𝘪𝘯 𝘣𝘳𝘰𝘢𝘥 𝘥𝘢𝘺𝘭𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵, 𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘰𝘶𝘴𝘭𝘺?

Dave on the other side, after avoiding his gaze, he look at the front again when Steve turn around. He froze in his track. Steve has a white skin so blushing can be clearly visible. Right now, Dave's seeing vividly how the white skin in Steve's ear touched by red as a tomato color.

𝘏𝘦 𝘤𝘢𝘯'𝘵 𝘣𝘦 𝘣𝘭𝘶𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨?

Just by thought, Dave started to feel a heat as if all of his blood transfer to his face. Now, the two look suspicious blushing together out of no where.

Steve stop from his pace and look up. Catlyn Coffee Shop. It is a cat coffee shop. It is build for cat lovers which is not Steve.

"Do you like cat, Dave?" he asked to lessen the awkwardness.

"No, they're like you," Dave shrugged looking at the cat inside the shop.

He saw how a white cat scrabbled the girl approaching him. Just like when he first talk to Steve who just ignore and give him a cold stare. He wry remembering a bitter a memory.

"So you're saying you hate me?" Steve raised his eyebrow.

"No. I mean I hate cats because they're like you."

For Dave, Steve is like a cat. Stingy and cold-hearted. He hates pleasing and chasing someone but of course except for Steve because they're friends.

Steve glared at him, "are you picking a fight?"

"B-but you're an exception. I-I like you!" Dave shouted waving his hand on the air while shaking his head. It's so obvious he's panicking.

The passers by stop and look at the guy who just shout and murmured. All of eyes are on them, questioning. Who wouldn't look when someone shout in the street in daylight?

"Did he confess or what?"

Dave wake up from shock and grab Steve's arm and run in the alley. Steve can't stand stares, Dave knew it better than anyone.

When it's only the two of them, the whole scenario absorbed by Dave's brain. He curse to himself. How could he say such things to a dude? Really? He peek at Steve, unable to look at him straight due to embarrassment.

Steve almost laugh in Dave's reaction when Dave peek at him and saw him having a serious face because lad stand straight and gulped.

"I'm sorry Steve. I didn't mean it in a weird way," Dave scratched the back of his neck.

Steve just nodded.

"Anyway, why did you ask me about it all of a sudden? Seriously you don't have any plan, do you?" Dave blurted out.

"Yes. I barely left home that's why I barely know what to do," Steve answered honestly.

Dave was dumbfounded. He can't be serious, right? Asking for Dave to go out without a plan.

"You have a guts to call me out but you don't have a plan," Dave said in annoyed voice.

"I wouldn't go this far if you didn't avoid me for two days," Steve fire back.

Dave snorts, "Let's go. I heard there's a new open park nearby."

Steve nodded and follow Dave obediently. They walk for about 10 minutes before they arrive in the park. They saw a bench and decided to seat there.

Steve saw an ice cream vendor, "Dave you want ice cream?"

Dave nodded, get his wallet and about to give Steve money when the youngster refuse saying, "My treat."

Steve walk before Dave can answer. He knew he will insist on paying. He bought one vanilla and one chocolate.

"Here," Steve gave the vanilla flavor to Dave and sit beside him.

"Your plan is the worst," Dave said.

"Cant help it's so sudden."

"So what are we going to do now?" Dave look at the person beside him waiting for an answer.

"Eat of course." Steve smirked raising his ice cream.

Dave face palmed, "You're the worst."

Steve chuckled. It's so rare for Dave to see Steve to laugh or smile and to see it now somehow gave Dave a contentment feeling.

The two became quiet, focusing on their own ice cream. Steve watch Dave silently. Dave has a long light brown hair, below his ears. Steve remember blurting out he like Dave's long hair in their second year in high school. It matches his deep blue eyes and tanned skin. Dave's father is a foreigner that's where he get his natural blue eyes and tanned skin. It's also the reason why Dave is so tall compare to him. His visual is shinning that even when he did nothing all eyes still fall for him. Steve shake his head for complimenting Dave too much.

A ball bump into Dave's feet so he grab it.

"Big brother, that's my ball." A little boy run towards them.

"Here," he pass the ball and give the boy a smile.

Steve saw it all. The way it happen before his eyes makes him smile to himself. Dave tend to always smile and hide his true emotion to everyone. He's the president, a son of a teacher and heartthrob. All eyes is on him, one wrong move and they'll feel dissapointed blaming Dave for not meeting their ideal guy, son and president.

He's glad to see the different side of Dave. The way it panicked, get shocked, get mad, and genuinely smile. He's glad to see the true Dave.
