At his house...

I woke up and refreshed myself. I looked at myself in the mirror and smiled.

"To a good day." I said and headed out.

I remembered Jin asking me to come to his house, at the morning.

'Guess I should leave now.' I thought and changed and headed down.

"Unnie, I am going to meet Seok Jin. Can I have a box of red velvet cake?" I asked.

"Here." She handed it to me.

"Why are you heading there, early in the morning?" Oppa asked.

"I don't know. He asked me to come. Ok, bye." I waved to them and left.

I took the bus and soon reached his house.

On my way, I couldn't stop thinking why he'd call me at this time. I reached his floor and got out of the elevator and walked to his door and knocked twice.

The door opened soon revealing Jin.

"Hi, come in." He said and I entered.

"Hi, here's your box." I handed it to him.

"So, why did you ask me to come, early in the morning?" I asked.

"I wanted you to meet someone." He said and held my hand and dragged me to his room.

"What are you doing?" I asked.

"Just wait here." He said and headed out.

"Seok Jin, what should I do here?" As I said, a women entered out of the bathroom. I was quite shocked by her sudden entry. I stood up, immediately.

"Ah, I'm sorry for invading your privacy. I'll take a leave." I said and headed outside.

"Seok Jin? Seok Jin?" I called out, but there was no response.

I opened the door and saw him, near the elevator, holding a package in his hand.

"Seok Jin!" I called him. He turned and walked towards me.

"What happened?" He asked.

"Why would you leave?"

"Nothing happened right. Why do you worry?" I hit his shoulder.

"Jin, can I have some water?" The same women who I saw, asked, as she came out.

"Ne, eomma." He said.

Eomma? That is his mother? Am I dreaming? She looks too young to be a mother.

He handed a glass of water to her and turned towards me.

"Y/n, this is my mother. Mom, this is Y/n, my friend." He said.

"Nice to meet you, ma'am." I said.

"You can call her aunty." Jin said.

"No, call me ma'am." His mother said.

"Ok, ma'am." I said.

"So, what do you do for a living?" His mother asked, as she sat down.

"I run a bakery along with my sister." I said.

"A bakery? *chuckle* A bakery?" She said.

"Eomma." Jin whispered harsh.

"So, what do you see in her?" His mother asked, him.

"Eomma-" His mother cut him.

"Look at her. There are no ethics, no proper dressing sense. How will you have one, while you work at a bakery? You don't even have the rights to stand near my son's shadow. Don't you know your place? You don't even have the right to enter this house." And as soon as she finished, she splashed the water, that she was drinking on me. My face was drenched in water.

"This is your place." She said.

"Eomma!" Jin said. I held his hand, before something could happen.

"Oh, so now you have my son under your control that if you hold him, he'll stop?" His mother asked.

"I'm sorry for not knowing my place. I..I'll take a leave." I said and headed out, taking my bag.

"Y/n! Y/n!" He came chasing behind me, as I waited for the elevator.

"Y/n, I am really sorry for my mother's behaviour." He said.

"It's ok. This is not new. I have heard it a lot of times. The only thing is, unnie will be worried if she sees or knows about this." I said, forcing a smile and the elevator door opened.

I pressed the ground floor button and said bye and the door closed. As the door closed, tears streamed down my cheeks. I didn't know why, but when I heard about it from a parent of a close friend of mine, I couldn't take it.

He was my first friend, and the one I have been close with, within a few days. It hurts a lot.

I walked home. I cried all the way while walking home.

I reached soon and stood outside. Unnie came out and was shocked to see me drenched.

"Y/n, what happened? Why are you drenched in water? Why are you crying?" She asked.

I didn't say anything and hugged unnie. I cried, under her arms.

"Y/n, is everything ok?" She kept asking. Soon oppa came and asked what happened.

"I miss eomma." I lied. I didn't want unnie and oppa to worry about what Jin's mother said.

They took me inside and to the roof. We both sat down and she gave me some water. I drank, but the tears never stopped rolling down my cheeks. Oppa kneeled down and wiped my tears.

"Y/n, it's ok. You take some rest. Hye you take care of her, I'll take care of the bakery." Oppa said and left.

"Y/n, lay down." Unnie said and I laid down on her lap. She patted me and I slowly fell asleep.

Hye's POV

I was serving the customer and I noticed Y/n standing outside. She was wet. I hurriedly went out and saw her drenched in water.

I asked her, what happened, and she replied that she misses mom. I know she was lying.

I know Y/n very well, than she knows about herself. She is not a girl who cries for this. She is stronger than me. If anything happens also, she never tells it out and hides it into herself. But if she is crying, something must've happened.

Sung-ho came and we went to our house and he said me to take care of her, while he'll handle the shop.

I made her lay on my lap and tapped on her slowly, and she fell asleep slowly.

I started wondering why she would've cried. At morning, she was nice. She took a box of red velvet cake and headed to Jin's house.

Something must've happened there. I'll get to know what has happened there, only if I see Jin.

As I was done with my thoughts, I saw Jin.

I slowly put Y/n on the pillow and covered her with the sheets and walked towards him.

"I was thinking about you, and here you are. Did anything happen at your house? She came home crying and I'm worried about her." I said.

"Noona, I am..... I am really sorry." He said. I was confused as to why.

"Why do you ask sorry?"

"Noona, something actually happened back at my home."

"What is it?" I asked and he said everything that happened there.

"I know what my mother did was wrong, and I am really sorry for my mom's behaviour. I really didn't expect this to come."

"Jin, it's ok. It's not your fault. This is not new for her. She has heard a lot, but has stood strong all those time. But I don't know why she cried, now." I paused.

"Jin, being here, other than us both, she hasn't talked or been friends with anyone. Even though Jungkook was there, she really didn't have a best friend. You have filled that spot. Before she used to worry about us and the bakery, but now, she is feeling happy and it's all because of you. Please don't leave her, at any cost."

"Noona, I promise I won't. Take care, I'll see her later." He said and left.

I turned back and looked at Y/n, sleeping peacefully.

"I hope your friendship turns more than what it is." I said to myself and headed down.

Jin's POV

As I was in my office, my mom called me and said that she'll be coming to see me tomorrow.

I texted Y/n, whether she had reached or not, and thought I'd invite her and introduce her to my mom.

But it turned out to be the opposite of what I thought.

I ran behind Y/n, and apologized. She said it was a common thing and got into the elevator and was gone.

I walked back in.

"Eomma, what was that? Why would her hurt her, by your toxic words?" I asked, anger rising slowly in me.

"She doesn't even have the right to enter here and you ask why I hurt her? Don't you see the difference? I haven't been coming here, and you get people from the streets to your home." She said.

"Eomma!" I raised my voice.

"She is my friend. You have no right to judge how my friends are. Have I ever judged or talked about how your friends are? If the company's running well today, it is all because of her. If I am happy now, it's all because of her." I paused.

"Have you ever come around, to see how your son was doing? Even though you stay in the next building, have you ever had that thought. You've come today, out of the blue." I said and walked, but she stopped me.

"Where do you think you are going?"

"To see her. If something happens to her or you stop me now, I won't be your son anymore." I said and walked away.

I got in my car and drove to the bakery. I got in and asked Sung-ho hyung where Y/n was and he said upstairs.

I headed up and saw Y/n sleeping. Noona put her in the bed and walked towards me. We talked and I felt better after talking to noona.

I really didn't wanna lose Y/n's friendship. I got more close to her, even if we met only few days or months back. Just like what noona said, she is my only best friend.

I got back home and saw my mom, sitting on the couch, angry.

"You're home." She said.

"Yeah, I am." I said and drank some water.

"Now, get into your room and you don't need to go anywhere. I will handle the company."

"Mom, I am not a kid anymore, to listen to you. I am grown up and I can decide what I have to do."

"You are changing being with her."

"You haven't seen how I had changed when you weren't there to look after me, and suddenly you say that I had changed because of her. Do you know how much I had waited for you, that you'll come and look after me and feed me. No, that never happened. How will you know, when you left a maid to take care of me." I paused.

"Noona was the one, who made me feel happy, took great care of me, and then it was Y/n. I lost hopes of you coming and having a look at me. If this money, my position and this whole 'I am a rich' thing is separating people from me, I don't want to live in a place like this." I said and headed to my room.

"Where are you going?" She asked.

"A place, where I can be free from you. You wanted to take care of the company right? Not only the company, I'll give you all the property that is my name. I don't want to live with people who are greedy for it. Take care of it and live in your own world." I packed my bag and left the house.
