comforting Musa

When they are back at the academy Sky and Farah Dowling head to the greenhouse to check on Saul while Garfield and the girls are told to wait in the courtyard of the fairies building.

"You are an idiot you know that right?" Saul tells Sky when he rushes ahead of Farah.

"I know but is it better? Professor Harvey how is it?" Sky asks Terra's father who nods with a smile. "Don't smile at him." Saul says, hugging back his son figure.

"Alright. Good to see you're better." The headmistress says with a slight smile and leaves, heading back to the fairies.

"That the lot of you and headmaster Silva are still alive does not change how thoughtless you were. We'll discuss punishment in the morning." Mrs. Dowling tells the group, with the girls huddled together sitting on some chairs, while Garfield is at the bottom of the stairs lying on his side bored. "Is she detention pissed off or expulsion pissed off?" Aisha asks concerned.

"Who cares." Garfield yawns, standing up and stretching his back.

"I'm going with the first one, but only because of the bit of pride I felt in there." Musa says.

"We should get upstairs." Bloom says, seeing a heavy-hearted Sky approach them.

"Inviting me to stay over?" Garfield asks teasingly, following the four girls other than Stella up the stairs.

"No! Why would we do that?" Terra asks appalled.

"Oh come on I know my reputation isn't great, but do all of you not find me attractive?" He asks with a chuckle.

"No." Aisha replies sternly, while Terra blushes and Musa smirks with Bloom being somewhere else in her mind.

"So Bloom, any news on mystery fairy?" Garfield asks.

"Yeah actually. She was the previous headmistress, but she's dead according to Mrs. Dowling." Bloom answers.

"Oh, sorry. That must be disappointing." He says, getting a quiet nod in return, with her saying "if she's telling the truth it is."

"Alright this is me. And you are welcome, you are welcome and you are welcome anytime, only one at a time though." He tells the fairies, pointing at Terra, Bloom and finally Musa, winking before he steps into his room.

"I know he's strong, smart and helped us again, but he's weird right?" Terra asks her roommates, opening their door.

"Yes." Aisha and Bloom say.

"Definitely." Musa says with a big grin, her eyes lighting up, remembering her own comfort at being in his presence earlier that day, when sparring and in the tower.

When they all get ready for bed Musa comes over to Terra who is removing her makeup. "Sorry for my brother again. But did you find someone? Because you were gone the whole time." Terra asks.

"Uhm, too soon to tell. But maybe." Musa replies, smirking into the mirror before going over to her bed. After having gotten ready for bed Terra writes Dane, asking if he had fun and as reply she gets send a video where a stoned Dane and Riven make fun of her and her crush on the new specialist.

Musa lies in her bed for a couple minutes, feeling Terra's and Blooms sorrow soon after and quickly leaves the apartment, entering Garfield's room without bothering to knock.

"You look like me after having to sit through one of Professor Harveys lessons." Garfield remarks as a joke, but sees her still sad and upset.

"Here, look at me." He says, getting up from his seat and takes her hands, looking her in the eyes, rubbing over her hands gently, never breaking the eye contact until she relaxes, a feeling of calm overtaking her with a gentle flute music playing in her head.

"Thanks. It's awful over there. With four roommates, one of whom is Tara of all people and Bloom has one drama after another." Musa says sighing while sitting down on his bed.

"Yeah well I doubt Dowling did a powers check before deciding room occupancy." He replies, taking off his shirt and enters his bathroom, brushing his teeth intensely.

"You're brushing kind of agressive. That's unusual." She chuckles, seeing him brush his teeth like he's trying to win a prize.

"Burned one dust in the teeth." He says, toothbrush in mouth while looking at her through his mirror. "Hahaha." Musa laughs heartily.

"You have a beautiful laugh." He tells her after he finished brushing his teeth.

"Oh right. Before I forget. I have something for you. We could try this if you can be patient." He tells her, looking through a book and hands it to her with a certain page open.

"What are you talking about now?" She chuckles and looks at the page, reading over it roughly.

"Is this for real?" She asks stunned.

"I'd assume so, I snuck it out of Dowlings personal library." He tells her with a shushing motion. "Why'd you do that." She asks.

"Oh come on, you know why." He says jumping up to the top bunk.

"Hey, I just realized why am I sleeping on the top bunk?" He questions.

"Because you're a gentleman." She tells him with a smirk, raising her eyebrows.

"Aha, and not because you just decided to make the bottom one yours?" He asks challengingly, looking down at the pillows and a stuffed animal she snuck over to his room.

"So? You never complained before." She says, slipping under the covers, taking off her hair rubber band.

"I'm not complaining, just to warn you though if you're not here when I go to sleep the bottom bed is mine." He tells her, sticking out his tongue.

"Only so you won't feel lonely without me." She teases him.

"Maybe." He mumbles, admitting defeat and lies down himself.

"Hahaha. Good night, Gar. Let's look into that exercise tomorrow." Musa says softly.

"Sure, good night Musa." He replies, turning off the light. Unknown to everyone in the academy Beatrix entered the hidden entrance in the headmistress's office and killed her assistent who was actually her accomplice, whom she used to spring the headmistress's trap set up at the hidden entrance.

|the next day|

Garfield wakes up, drops down , stretching his back and sees that Musa is already gone. "Still smells great." He says with a relaxed smile, looking at the empty, tidily made bed for a moment.

"She left the book." He says surprised, seeing the book resting on the bed. After he gets ready for the day he takes the book and heads to Dowling's office.

"Hey Dowling you got time? And why is your assistant awol? Is he drunk somewhere?" Garfield asks, walking into her office, where Silva is resting on a couch.

"Still as rude as ever." The man chuckles.

"What do you want Garfield? You will receive your punishment after class." Farah Dowling says.

"I want you to teach me. Well, me and Musa." He says, putting her book down on her table, opened on a specific page, dealing with mind fairies control training.

"Where did you get this? Is this why my bookshelf was moved?" The headmistress asks wearily.

"I took this 4 days ago." He says shrugging, making her relax a bit.

"This would still be reason for expulsion, you know." She says annoyed.

"Oh come on. We both know you're just saying that. You need me and you both owe me, so do me this favor and help your student for once?" He says.

"Fine but you're still getting punished." She says. "Fair enough." He agrees, shrugging his shoulder and turns to leave, stopping when he notices something off.

"Weird. This was moved. Oh a hidden entrance, protected by magic." Garfield says, revealing the headmistress's underground entrance.

"Hmm, no clue what the protection you use is, nice work." He says, turning his head into a hawk's. "My eyes can pick up other wavelengths of magic. Hmm, when did you last see your assistant?" He asks, focussing on a spot next to the bookshelf he moved away.

"Last noon." The woman answers. "Well he's dead." Garfield says, pointing at a spirit particle remnant of the dead man.

"Dead?" She asks surprised.

"Yep, killed right here. Disintegrated by my guess." He answers.

"We should get Ben. He could build us a detection device for whoever did this." Saul suggests.

"I can't tell you more than he's dead, so my good deed is done." He tells them and leaves.

Half an hour later the earth fairy teacher confirms that the headmistress's assistant is indeed dead and starts to design a device to identify the killer by their magic energy.

After class, where the fairies worked on their control again the four roommates and Garfield are asked to stay.

"As promised you all are getting a punishment. Terra, you will tend to the gardens behind the specialists training area. Aisha, you will have to clean the specialist's pool. Bloom, you are going to help the kitchen prepare dinner. And for you two I have something special planned." Mrs. Dowling says, and makes the three girls go to get started on their assignments.

"What are we going to do Mrs. Dowling?" Musa asks.

"I want you two to keep an eye open for any weird behavior over the next days." She says.

"Weird how?" Musa asks.

"Killer weird." Garfield says.

"Wait what?" The raven-haired beauty asks.

"Someone murdered Callum, my assistant yesterday. Now I can be certain it wasn't either of you. Because Garfield is the one who informed me of Callums fate in the first place and he vouched for you." The headmistress explains.

"I hope this isn't all you're going to talk to us about." Garfield presses and Dowling says

"yes, yes. I have looked into the method and it's safe. It'll take time to bear results though since you most certainly are no mind fairy Garfield." The headmistress says, opening the book to the page Musa read last night.

"So this could help me?" She asks hopeful.

"Apparently yes. You will have to train to block out emotions send to you directly by mind fairy magic, the advantage of this is that you go around distractions clouding the emotions since you will basically get fed the statement that someone is angry for example." The woman explains.

"Well and if he can do that, then you can work on figuring out how to block the emotion or at least how to receive them unaffected." Mrs. Dowling tells Musa.

"Thank you Mrs. Dowling and I will tell you if I pick up something weird." Musa says excited. "Thanks." Garfield says, following Musa to the door.

"You better work hard and not disappoint her." Farah advises.

"I'm always doing my best." He scoffs, before joining Musa on her way to the cafeteria.

Once there Musa gets hit by a lot of negative and mischievous emotions from everyone.

"Look at me. Focus on my voice." Garfield tells Musa who is panicking and he grabs her hand squeezing them while looking in her eyes, trying to use his small control of mind magic to convey his feelings louder than the mess of the gossiping students.

"Hey, you're roommates with Bloom right? Is it true, is she a changeling?" A guy asks coming over to their table, looking at Musa.

"Leave. She's not feeling well." Garfield says, continuing to try and calm Musa with his mind.

"Oh shut up. I want to ask the freak lover a question." The guy says, inching closer to Musa who's holding her temples in pain.

"I asked nicely." Garfield says and then gets up, packing the guy and throws him to the floor, offering a hand to Musa.

"Let's get out of here." He says, leading her outside. The knocked over second year gets angry and fires a fireball at the two, Garfield getting knocked over by the hit while managing to send his magic to Musa, who is enveloped by the purple protective shield she had the first time they tried to combine their magic.

"Come on Gar." Musa tells him, helping up and leaves the cafeteria with him.

"Are you OK?" Musa asks Garfield worried.

"Yeah. You?" He asks.

"I didn't even feel anything." She replies, her forcefield disappearing with them holding hands.

"Come on." He says, pulling her close to him, wrapping her arms around his shoulders and then sprouts large brown wings, flying up to the tower they spend some of their previous evening in.

"What are we doing here? She asks when he opens the window from the outside and lands inside the top floor which door is barricaded, but the room itself is empty.

"This will be our space now." He says, shrugging his shoulders.

"A trainings mat, a couple trainings weapon and we're good to go." He suggests.

"And why do we need this?" Musa asks.

"Come on Musa. You felt awful in the cafeteria." He says.

"OK fine. I guess some privacy is appreciated." Musa agrees with a shy grin.

"Come on let's start with that training exercise." Garfield says, looking at Musa, leading her to the middle of the room and makes her sit down with him sitting across from her.

"So, I'm gonna try to send you an emotion now." He says and concentrates, sending Musa the emotion of concern.

"Why are you so concerned?" She asks curious, feeling his magically sent emotion and his real feelings mixed together.

"Because you felt unwell and I like you." He says, closing his eyes and changing the send emotion to sadness.

"Well, I do feel the emotions you send. So that's good but they are still weak." Musa says.

"My mind magic isn't that strong yet. Baby steps OK? I know you must be frustrated with your burden but I'm doing my best here." He says frustrated, closing his eyes tightly blood starting to drip down his nose.

"My god. Stop, Gar. Your nose is bleeding." Musa says, making him stop quickly and tilt his head forwards, while pressing her handkerchief to his nose.

"Sorry. I'm no help at all." Garfield says beating himself up, holding her handkerchief to his nose.

"It's fine. It's the thought that counts." Musa says rubbing circles on his back slowly.

"No it's not. You're hurting and I'm too weak to help." He grunts, punching the wooden floor annoyedly.

"Gar. Listen, you are the strongest person I know and you've already helped and supported me more than anyone in a year. Ever since my mum died, I've had to deal with everything on my own." Musa tells him.

"It's not enough." He sighs, pulling away the handkerchief and looks at her. "It is. No matter how strong and cool and experienced you are, you're just a student like all of us." Musa says, caressing his cheek.

"I'm not. I don't need to be here, I'm just here for a favor, although I now want to stay for a while." He says, kissing up her arm uncertainly.

"You are amazing." Musa says softly, enjoying his lips on her arm, but tilts his head up, leaning down to kiss him.

"I'm confident that you'll help me over time. We just have to take it slow. And I don't know what happened in the cafeteria. There's gossip going around making everyone uneasy." She tells him.

"Yeah, someone blabbed about Bloom being a changeling." He tells her.

"So, now what?" She asks trailing her fingers up his arm while looking at him curiously.

"Well, we are all alone." He smirks.

"Yeah, that's true." She agrees, one hand intertwining with his while her other hand goes through his green hair.

"Can I kiss you again?" He asks.

"You can kiss me whenever you like if you want to be my boyfriend." She says, scratching his scalp relaxingly.

"Musa, will you go out with me?" He asks squeezing her other hand with his free hand resting on her thigh.

"Yes, I'd love to." She says smiling, her eyes glowing from feeling his nervousness and happiness. The two teens look at each other intensely for a moment before they both shoot forward, meeting in a hungry, passionate kiss.

During the kiss Garfield pins her underneath himself, their entwined hands above her head while his other hand is on her right side above her hip.

"You definitely aren't a bad kisser." She smirks, continuing to scratch through his hair.

"You're very good yourself." He tells her with a grin, kissing her along her neck and throat.

"Gar. You're going to give me a hickey." She says.

"So? Is that a bad thing?" He questions.

"No, but with four judgmental and emotional roommates I don't need the additional grief." She chuckles, pushing him off lightly.

"Fair point." He says, brushing through her hair which is pooled behind her with his left hand, before grabbing her by her back and rolls them over so she's on top of him. Musa puts her legs on either side of his waist and leans down, nibbling on his throat.

"No one cares if you have hickeys. They'll think you hurt yourself training anyways." Musa says grinning down at him before kissing him on his lips again.

"Gorgeous." He says, when she breaks the kiss and sits up on him.

"Thanks. You're pretty hot too." She says, running her hands up his torso, sliding up his shirt slowly.

"Want me to kiss these and make it all better?" She asks with a grin, her eyes lighting up with her own lust and Garfield's feelings of love and excitement.

"Let's see what I can do." She says, kissing him all over his torso especially around his scars.

"I really would like to repay the favor." He says with a grin.

"Sorry, can't yet. Not until we told everyone." She says, kissing his cheek.

"You smell so good. Every fiber of me wants to ravage you and never stop." He groans hotly, sitting up with his hot breath in her ear.

"Another day. I think we should get back now." Musa tells him, patting his cheek with a blush, before getting off him.

"Sadly you're right." He agrees, wrapping his arms around her.

"By the way, this should go without saying, no more kissing other girls." She tells him, throwing her arms around his neck.

"Don't worry my lips are only for you." He tells her, nibbling at her ear, making her giggle.

"Come on now, fly us down." She tells him, jumping up and wraps her legs around him too, basically hanging off his front.

"Roger that." He says, squeezing her ass once before wrapping his arms around her hip and shoulders.

"Copping a feel eh?" She asks mirthfully.

"Can you blame me? I mean when the prettiest person you'll ever meet is hugging herself to your chest you want to make sure you're not dreaming right?" He whispers in her ear, making her blush before he jumps put of the opened window and starts flapping his wings.
