Some Bent Apologies

KATY'S POV

I woke with a start, my heart pounding in my chest. My breath came in shallow gasps, and for a moment, I wasn’t sure where I was. The nightmare had been so vivid—Hugo’s cold grip on my arm, his menacing laugh echoing in my ears as they dragged me away.

I sat up, my head spinning as I wiped the sweat from my brow. My body was trembling, the weight of the past few days catching up with me. I couldn’t breathe in this room, couldn’t bear the suffocating air. I needed fresh air, and I needed it now.

I quickly got to my feet and opened the balcony door, stepping into the cool night air. The city lights of Madrid sprawled before me, their soft glow offering a slight comfort, but my mind wouldn’t quiet. Thoughts of Hugo, Dario, and everything in between clouded my vision.

I wasn’t sure how long I stood there, staring into the distance, before I noticed him.
